Election spurs ‘hundreds’ of race threats, crimes

Cross burnings. Schoolchildren chanting “Assassinate Obama.” Black figures hung from nooses. Racial epithets scrawled on homes and cars.

Incidents around the country referring to President-elect Barack Obama are dampening the postelection glow of racial progress and harmony, highlighting the stubborn racism that remains in America.

From California to Maine, police have documented a range of alleged crimes, from vandalism and vague threats to at least one physical attack. Insults and taunts have been delivered by adults, college students and second-graders.

There have been “hundreds” of incidents since the election, many more than usual, said Mark Potok, director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate crimes.

Well, they wanted *change*, they are getting change. People that are normally peaceful are taking up the ways of times long past. And now you have to wonder, WHY?

Grant Griffin, a 46-year-old white Georgia native, expressed similar sentiments: “I believe our nation is ruined and has been for several decades and the election of Obama is merely the culmination of the change.

“If you had real change it would involve all the members of (Obama’s) church being deported,” he said.

That pretty much sums it up for most folks that didn’t support Obama. No one has a hell of a lot of faith in him. I fully expect him to make an effort to go after guns, I honestly believe he will. I also believe that he will, with the full support of a Democratic controlled and RINO supported House and Senate, open this nation up to any and all that wish to invade her, making them legal citizens almost as soon as their feet make landfall. He will likely start with his own family.

BOSTON — Zeituni Onyango came to the United States seeking asylum from her native Kenya but was turned down and ordered to leave the country in 2004.

Four years later, she is still here. And her nephew is about to become president of the United States.

Maybe I’m wrong, I hope I am, but I fear that Obama is bringing more division to this nation, and presents more danger to this nation than any president in U.S. history, and he’s not even sworn in yet! The WORST is yet to come!

Nothing has ever been satisfactorily explained concerning Obama’s Kenyan family, their statements claiming that Obama is a born Muslim, and the very fact that regardless of Obama’s birthright, he IS half Black, that is a cause of great consternation for about HALF of this nation and it’s LEGAL citizens.

Obama has more threats than other presidents-elect

November 14th, 2008 . by TexasFred

Obama has more threats than other presidents-elect

WASHINGTON (AP) - Threats against a new president historically spike right after an election, but from Maine to Idaho law enforcement officials are seeing more against Barack Obama than ever before. The Secret Service would not comment or provide the number of cases they are investigating. But since the Nov. 4 election, law enforcement officials have seen more potentially threatening writings, Internet postings and other activity directed at Obama than has been seen with any past president-elect, said officials aware of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity because the issue of a president’s security is so sensitive.

Earlier this week, the Secret Service looked into the case of a sign posted on a tree in Vay, Idaho, with Obama’s name and the offer of a “free public hanging.” In North Carolina, civil rights officials complained of threatening racist graffiti targeting Obama found in a tunnel near the North Carolina State University campus.

And in a Maine convenience store, an Associated Press reporter saw a sign inviting customers to join a betting pool on when Obama might fall victim to an assassin. The sign solicited $1 entries into “The Osama Obama Shotgun Pool,” saying the money would go to the person picking the date closest to when Obama was attacked. “Let’s hope we have a winner,” said the sign, since taken down.

In the security world, anything “new” can trigger hostility, said Joseph Funk, a former Secret Service agent-turned security consultant who oversaw a private protection detail for Obama before the Secret Service began guarding the candidate in early 2007.

Obama has more threats than other presidents-elect

“In the security world, anything “new” can trigger hostility” they say??

Quite honestly, I don’t think *new* has a thing to do with threats against Obama. It is MY opinion that the threats are made by those that know no better, you DO NOT make threats against the president, or president elect, regardless of your personal feelings, racial prejudices, political views or any perceived dangers that you may feel that particular person may present to the United States! It doesn’t work that way!

Of course there will always be those that just don’t get it. There are some ignorant meat heads that think they can say anything they want to, even to the point of making death threats, and they believe that is their right under the 1st amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You CAN say whatever you like, but the 1st amendment doesn’t guarantee that there won’t be some dire consequences if you threaten the life of the president or president elect. And quite frankly, I don’t know why anyone that was serious in their desire to harm ANY public official would be so stupid as to announce it.

In this day and time it is impossible to hide, email, blogs, phones, journals, none of it is so secure that you can make ridiculous threats. There are guys out there that have the ability to track you down, no matter where you are, and a threat against the POTUS is all the reason they need.

Here’s something that most folks already know, it’s NOT the idiot that goes on line making threats that the Secret Service is truly worried about, most, not ALL, but most of those people are making a desperate scream for attention, and they don’t care HOW they get it. It’s the ones that are deadly serious in their intentions, no pun intended, the ones that fly way under the radar.

I would truly HATE to be a Secret Service agent at any time, that is one job I never had ANY desire to take on, but to be one on the presidential detail of Barack Obama?? That would be a living and breathing nightmare!

‘Mutts like me’ - Obama shows ease discussing race

‘Mutts like me’ - Obama shows ease discussing race

WASHINGTON (AP) - It popped out casually, a throwaway line as he talked to reporters about finding the right puppy for his young daughters.

But with just three offhanded words in his first news conference as president-elect, Barack Obama reminded everyone how thoroughly different his administration - and inevitably, this country - will be.

“Mutts like me.”

By now, almost everyone knows that Obama’s mother was white and father was black, putting him on track to become the nation’s first African-American president. But there was something startling, and telling, about hearing his self-description - particularly in how offhandedly he used it.

The message seemed clear - here is a president who will be quite at ease discussing race, a complex issue as unresolved as it is uncomfortable for many to talk about openly. And at a time when whites in the country are not many years from becoming the minority.

‘Mutts like me’ - Obama shows ease discussing race

A *mutt*, a native American and a West Texas Cowboy were in a West Texas beer joint having a *cold one* on a hot West Texas afternoon.

After several *cold ones* the native American became very serious and stood up to declare, “Once, we were many, now we are few, it makes me very sad!”

Not to be outdone, the *mutt* stood up and declared, “Once we wuz few, now we bees many an dat makes me some kind ‘o happy!”

After a few minutes of contemplation the West Texas Cowboy stood up, and being the sage philosopher that ALL West Texas Cowboys are, he drawled, “We ain’t played *cowboys and mutts* yet!”

Decision ‘08 has been made

November 5th, 2008 . by TexasFred

Electoral Votes: Barack Obama: 338, John McCain: 162 as of this AM, there are still conflicting numbers, but rest assured, Obama cleaned McCains clock.

History has surely been made with this election, I hope it’s not the final chapter for America, now, how do I say this and NOT offend a few friends in the process??

I don’t know if there is any way to NOT offend actually, I have NEVER been a PC person and I am damn sure not about to start now, politics needs hard truth, not PCness.

It’s over. McCain has lost, by a VERY wide margin, and as I said on numerous occasions, I was fully expecting this. He carried Texas and a good portion of the South, but he couldn’t even begin to win in the states that have the majority of electoral votes, liberal voters and disenfranchised moderates and Repubs.

My vote for Bob Barr was MY vote, it wasn’t a wasted vote, NO vote for a candidate that’s ON the ballot is a wasted vote. Let’s face it, all the votes cast for 3rd party candidates, all of them put together wouldn’t have made one bit of difference in this election, Obama, and his Obamanation have taken this one by storm.

I did NOT support McCain, I never liked him, I never trusted him, I never wanted him to be the POTUS and for the very brief period of time that I had a logo up on this blog for him it was because I was bowing to peer pressure, and that is something I just don’t do. I am my own man, regardless of the consequences, and I voted MY conscience, that old BULLSHIT about a vote for anyone other than McCain was just that, pure, 100% BULLSHIT, the numbers don’t lie.

For the last 2 years I have tried to tell everyone that would listen to me, McCain was NOT the one to take on and beat Obama, and I was correct. At this point in time, I actually don’t believe there was a Republican in the race, right from the start, that could have beat Obama anyway, and like it or not, you have no one to thank for that other than George W. Bush.

Many on the left fell for the *CHANGE* mantra, and it was surely a mantra, many just didn’t like McCain and saw him as a continuation of the Bush presidency, many just hate Bush and Company so much that they would have voted for Satan himself to keep a Republican out of the Oval Office.

We, the Conservatives of this nation, have a HUGE task ahead of us, we have Senate races to win back, we have Congress to win back, and that’s the mid-term fight we have to focus on at this particular time. I personally believe that after 2 years of a Democratic controlled Congress, there will be a serious swing in control of the House, and I don’t care if it’s Republican or not, as long as it’s CONSERVATIVE.

It appears that Texas will retain John Cornyn (R)(Socialist) as the junior Senator from Texas until Kay Bailey Hutchison (R)(Socialist) steps down to come home and run for Governor in 2 years, I am hoping she has to resign her Senate seat to do so, she IS talking retirement as well, and if so, we’ll be working very hard here in Texas to KEEP her socialist, wetback loving ass retired.

It also appears that my favorite Congressman, Mr. Sam Johnson, Texas 3rd, is going to hold his seat, that is GREAT news, Mr. Sam didn’t vote FOR the Wall Street bailout as many others did, including both of our U.S. Senators from Texas.

I did get one very shocking surprise on election night, the race for Dallas County Sheriff. The incumbent, Lupe Valdez, a Hispanic, a VERY Liberal Dem, an avowed lesbian and without question the worst Sheriff that Dallas County has had in any recent times, was re-elected by predominantly Democratic Dallas County. By a very big margin too, by Dems, Libbers and Hispanics. Oh well, you get what you elect, morale is already very low on the Dallas County Sheriffs Office, I am guessing that it just went a lot lower.

To all of my readers I say this, the Dems have carried the day, the Republicans never had a chance as a party, and that is because there was a tremendous amount of defection from the ranks, but lets face facts, the Republican party is only a shadow of what it once was, in the Reagan days for instance. Mainstream Republicans are, basically, nothing more than Dem Lite today.

The future of this nation is NOT in the hands of Dems OR Repubs, it rests on the shoulders of the CONSERVATIVES of this nation, and if this nation is to continue to survive, WE, the CONSERVATIVES, must regain control of the House of Representatives before there is nothing left worth saving.

The battle for 2010 begins today, the battle for 2012 begins today as well, and it begins right here and right now. I am an Independent Conservative, I hope that many of you will take up that same mantle, and wear that name proudly. It’s time for a viable 3rd party candidacy in America, one that can offer a real challenge to our antiquated 2 party system, a 3rd party candidacy that can WIN! And it can happen, but it won’t happen with dissent and negative thinking, we either stand together or we ALL go down together.

It’s YOUR choice…
