Military has date for first execution since 1961

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - A former Army cook convicted of multiple rapes and murders is set to die next month in what would be the U.S. military’s first execution in nearly 50 years.

The military said Thursday that former North Carolina soldier Ronald A. Gray is to be executed Dec. 10 at the federal prison complex in Terre Haute, Ind.

Gray was arrested in connection with four slayings and eight rapes in the Fayetteville, N.C., area between April 1986 and January 1987, while he was stationed at Fort Bragg. He was convicted of murdering two women.

President Bush approved Gray’s execution in July, and a month later Army Secretary Pete Geren set the execution date and ordered that Gray be put to death by injection. The date was publicly released Thursday.

This one is going to stir some serious emotions I am thinking. There will be protests, there will be accusations of racism. Pres. Bush will be accused of crimes against humanity, some silly BS or the like. And ALL this boils down to is justice being served.

That’s a pretty good record in MY opinion, render unto Caesar that which is Caesars so to speak, and that is only right.

Ronald Gray took 4 lives and it is now time to pay for those crimes, and the forfeit of his life is quite appropriate. It’s just a shame it didn’t take place 20 years ago, it would have saved this nation untold dollars for his upkeep and security.

I am wondering what the reaction will be from the Jack$on and $harpton contingent? Will they rally round to try and save this cretin from the punishment that he deserves or will the good *Reverends* take the above quote from Matthew 22:21 into consideration??

I suspect the hypocrisy is already in the pipeline.

To Ronald Gray, it is now your time to pay for the evil you committed on this earth and upon innocent people! To his family I say, I am sorry for the pain I know you feel, and to the families of his victims, I hope this gives you the closure you need and deserve and at least some sense of peace!

McCain plan would buy bad homeowner mortgages

WASHINGTON (AP) - John McCain’s proposal to buy up bad home mortgages would use nearly half the $700 billion from the recent Wall Street bailout package to assist Americans directly, instead of indirectly by rescuing the nation’s financial markets.

The Republican presidential candidate announced during Tuesday’s debate that he would order the federal government to spend $300 billion in federal funds to buy the mortgages and allow financially troubled homeowners to keep their houses.

Democratic nominee Barack Obama last month sounded a similar theme, proposing that the government consider taking such a step.

But McCain’s approach was far more categorical.

John McCain voted FOR the Wall Street bailout. So did Barack Obama and his VP running mate, Joe Biden. Those are hard and indisputable facts.

McCain and Obama are both trying to use showmanship, trying to BS their way into our hearts as they play the let’s see who can tell us how much they are going to do for us and how much they’re NOT going to raise taxes while doing it game.

I am NOT an MBA, but even a dumb old blogger from Texas knows, you can’t just up and save Wall Street to the tune of $700B plus dollars, OUR tax dollars, and NOT raise taxes in the process. You can’t buy all the bad home mortgages and not raise taxes at some point. It’s just NOT going to work like that.

And if this isn’t enough, today House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the most disgusting woman in D.C. this side of Helen Thomas, comes up with this load of crap.

DENVER (AP) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says a second economic stimulus plan is needed now because of the faltering economy and she puts the price at $150 billion.

The House did pass a $61 billion economic aid proposal last month before lawmakers left Capitol Hill ahead of the Nov. 4 election. But a similar plan failed to pass the Senate.

Pres. Bush said he would veto this latest travesty, and damn well he should, I wonder why he didn’t veto the bailout in it’s inception? But, I also wonder why he supported the amnesty plan a while back too. I’m not blaming this all on Bush, but consider this; HUD: Five Million Fraudulent Mortgages Held by Illegals and this; Years of Extending Loans To Illegal Aliens Have Contributed To Economic Crisis…Congress Silent!.

Look at WHO wanted amnesty for the ILLEGALS, look at HOW, almost as soon as the American people stood up to the government and stopped the amnesty plan this financial crisis became front page news, and then look at WHO supported the bailout, many of the same Senators and Congressmen, by far, were supporters of the bailout and amnesty.

I’m not real big on conspiracy theories, but for crying out loud, talk about your coincidences. And look at WHO is paying the bills for all of this too…

Fed to lend to companies in emergency move

WASHINGTON (AP) - Frantically trying to stop the bleeding on Wall Street, the Federal Reserve took a first-time step Tuesday to get cash directly to businesses and hinted that interest rates could come down soon. Stocks continued their free fall anyway and hit new five-year lows.

The central bank invoked emergency powers to lend money to companies outside the financial sector and buy up mounds of commercial paper, the short-term debt that firms use to pay for everyday expenses like salaries and supplies.

The Fed, which has only loaned money to banks before, made the move as the gravest financial crisis in decades wore on and concern spread around the world.

In a speech to the National Association for Business Economics, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke delivered a strong signal interest rates may need to be cut. And he warned the country could be stuck in the economic doldrums for some time.

What caused this financial crisis? Bad business, deals and management. Who caused this financial crisis? Bad Businessmen. Who has helped to further this crisis? The government of the United Socialist States of America, that’s who!

I know that BAD BUSINESS caused this but BAD GOVERNMENT has empowered it to new and unheard of heights. This bailout is a joke, and if the Fed cuts interest any further, they may as well be giving money away. Wait… What?? Damn, they ARE giving money away, OUR money! And anyone that even remotely believes that we’re ever going to see a return on this is basically stupid!

“Have faith, this economy is going to recover over time,” the president said in a speech in Virginia. “I wish I could snap my fingers and make what happened stop. But that’s not the way it works.”

Well DUH!! Hey, Pres. Numbnutz, we KNOW it’s going to get better, the last depression was overcome, this BS will be too, but YOU Mr. Bush, you are as much responsible for this travesty as any of the SOCIALIST bastards in the Congress and Senate that sent it to you for a signature.

As a few have pointed out, outrage is wasted on you Mr. Bush, you’re the lamest of LAME DUCKS, it’s almost like your administration is deliberately trying to see just how much damage it can inflict before you’re gone, and your departure from the White House can’t come a moment too soon, for the sake of this nation. Rice says US not trying to undermine Russia

ASTANA, Kazakhstan (AP) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Sunday rejected any suggestion that U.S. efforts to build closer ties to this former Soviet republic are meant to undermine Russian influence in Central Asia.

“This is not a zero-sum game,” she told reporters flying with her to the Kazakh capital. U.S. gains need not mean Russian losses, she said.

“First of all, Kazakhstan is an independent country. It can have friendships with whomever it wishes,” she said. “That’s perfectly acceptable in the 21st century, so we don’t see and don’t accept any notion of a special sphere of influence” for Russia in this region.

Later at a joint news conference with her Kazakh counterpart, Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin, Rice said no one should question Kazakhstan’s desire to have good relations with all countries in its region.

“This is not some kind of contest for the affection of Kazakhstan,” Rice said.

Someone please send a note to President Numbnutz will ya? Russia has every right to exert their influence in their part of the world, just as we do. And add a P.S. to that note for Numbnutz and his house girl, the whole world is NOT in love with the USA, never has been, and thanks to Bush and his presidency, we have even less friends in this world today than we did when he took office.

Russia, and if Rice was the expert on Russia that she is touted to be would know, Russia doesn’t like the idea of the USA poking around in their former satellite nations. We aren’t too happy about Russia exerting their influence in Venezuela, and we have a right to NOT be happy, this is our side of the world, or, maybe I should say, it WAS our side of the world, but we are rapidly losing our influence and power, thank you Mr. Numbnutz!

Our nation is on the verge of financial collapse. Don’t for one minute think that fact escapes our many enemies, nations that are oil rich and flush with money and assets. Russia doesn’t pay a lot of attention to the wishes of their citizens, Putin says WAR and millions of conscripts are in uniform and ready to fight. Our military is well trained, well equipped, highly motivated and entirely too small to get the job done. If this nation were to engage in an actual WORLD WAR, we would lose this time around.

We are populated by an almost even number of patriots and liberal leftists. In the event that we were forced to reinstate the draft, there are millions of liberal youths that would desert this nation like rats from a sinking ship.

Any of you that think John McCain can or will change this predicament, think again. We know that Obama can’t and won’t, but after the Senate bailout vote last week I am convinced that McCain is exactly what I have always believed him to be, a Dem/Libber in disguise!

Our House of Representatives went to the socialist sewer on Friday, couple that with 75% of the Senate and a president that can’t find his ass with both hands and a road map?? Well, you get the idea.

Once in a while there is almost a bright spot in an administration, once upon a time Condi was that spot in the Bush administration. Sarah Palin was hoped to be the saviour of the McCain campaign and was looked upon as being that REAL Conservative in waiting. Maybe so, but that ‘Ya know, by gosh, we’re a tryin’ to look at all of these goshdarn problems so that Joe 6-Pack can have a better life’ crap just didn’t fly.

Joe Biden is a dipwad, he was almost as exciting as John McCain, but Palin, and her folksy little way of ‘talkin’ don’t cha know? You betcha ya do’, just didn’t get it for me. Imagine an exchange of ideas between Putin and Palin.
