Report: Illegal immigrant minors mistreated by US

DALLAS (AP) - Federal authorities have compromised the rights and safety of some unaccompanied illegal immigrant children they have detained, and inadequate government guidelines are partly to blame, according to a Texas-based research group.

Many children appeared before immigration judges without legal representation, some were transported home in shackles or cages, and the medical needs of some were ignored, according to a report released Thursday by the Center for Public Policy Priorities, a nonprofit think tank.

“There’s no consistent policy. There’s nobody who’s responsible for these kids, in looking out for their safety,” report author Amy Thompson said. “It’s being handled in ad hoc fashion.”

The Department of Homeland Security, which oversees immigration and border enforcement, disputes the center’s findings.

“DHS and its component agencies treat all minors, including unaccompanied alien children, with dignity, respect and special concern for their particular vulnerabilities,” spokeswoman Laura Keehner said in a statement Thursday evening.

Get ready for it Conservative America, it is coming just as surely as you are reading this story!

George W. Bush, nearly ALL the Dems and far too many so-called Repubs tried to ram AMNESTY for ILLEGALS down our throats a while back but folks like us launched a huge campaign of phone calls, emails, snail mail, whatever it took, and we got it stopped. We ALL worked together and we accomplished the feat of turning the wants of the president and many legislators around and we got this travesty stopped.

It won’t happen again, not anytime in the near future.

We are about to be saddled with the most liberal/leftist president in the history of this nation, and a Dem/libber controlled House and Senate. They are going to give these *poor immigrants* more rights and benefits than WE have. And who do you think is going to be paying for it?? Yeah, that’s right, you and me!

Until 2 years ago our RINO president had a RINO majority in the House and Senate and he still couldn’t find his ass with both hands and a set of directions. Don’t for one minute believe that Obama will be so challenged. He will take FULL advantage of his Dem/libber majority and use it to the fullest extent when it comes to matter such as ILLEGALS in America, they will NOT be ILLEGALS for too much longer.

Obama will have the support of asshat RINOs like John McCain, Kay Bailey Hutchison and the like, RINOs and socialists, that is what the Republican party has become, and we can expect nothing from 90% of what is left of the Repubs in Washington! And to be even more honest, even if McCain would have become POTUS, this would still be the likely outcome, with a Dem majority in Congress, McCain would have been comfortably within his element, he is, after all, the biggest RINO, FAUX Republican and anti-Conservative, anti-guns, pandering LIAR that has ever been foisted off on the American people. And a huge number of supposedly intelligent people fell FOR that too!

The debacle that America is about to become would happen regardless of which party won, simply because there is NO real difference between the 2 parties, and the Bush administration was as far from being a REAL Conservative administration as one could ever imagine, that is the precise cause of our current maladies.

There is a bright side though, at least for some people. The *poor immigrant* that is only trying to make a better life for himself and his family will soon have that better life, at OUR expense, as OUR lives spiral downward because OF it!

News stories from around the ‘net

WASHINGTON - A hacker broke into a Homeland Security Department telephone system over the weekend and racked up about $12,000 in calls to the Middle East and Asia.

Full Story Here:
FEMA phones hacked; calls made to Mideast, Asia

American security at stake. An antiquated phone system is in use. Bumbling security procedures were not updated. And the guy may well have been calling in the Islamic attacks that we have all feared and expected, and may very well have used our own system against us.

NEW ORLEANS - President Bush said Wednesday that “hope is coming back” to New Orleans with the help of $126 billion in disaster aid poured into the Gulf Coast region over three years after Hurricane Katrina.

Full Story Here:
Bush says New Orleans is on its way back

Yep, things ARE looking up for New Orleans. UP is the ONLY way you can look when your city is sinking into the muck. And hope has returned to NOLA, they HOPE that Obama gets elected, that way they can get even more FREE MONEY from the government. They expect us to support their *welfare slug* mindset!

WASHINGTON - Days after he cracked that being rich in the U.S. meant earning at least $5 million a year, Republican presidential candidate John McCain acknowledged that he wasn’t sure how many houses he and his wealthy wife actually own.

Full Story Here:
A housing issue: McCain not sure how many they own

I have made NO secret of the fact that I don’t like, nor do I trust John McCain, I think he’s a poser and a liar. I am firmly convinced that he is nothing more than a pandering RINO, but I fail to see where how many homes he and his wife own is the business of ANYONE. And I really don’t see this as a defining issue of how he would run the U.S.A. if he becomes POTUS.

WARSAW, Poland - Russia should be temporarily kicked out of the Group of Eight and denied entry into the World Trade Organization as punishment for its actions in Georgia, Sen. Joe Lieberman said Thursday.

Full Story Here:
Lieberman wants Russia tossed out of G-8

Oh hell yeah! Sic em Joe. That should do it too, and be sure to say that we’ll boycott their Olympics Games too. Nothing like hollow threats to make the Russians fall into line. What people don’t realize is this, Russia doesn’t give a damn if we go play at their games, and they don’t concern themselves with public opinion nor do they feel a need to be politically correct.

A comprehensive analysis of every evening news report by the NBC, ABC and CBS television networks on Barack Obama since he came to national prominence concludes coverage of the Illinois senator has “bordered on giddy celebration of a political ‘rock star’ rather than objective newsgathering.”

Full Story Here:
Study: ABC, NBC, CBS strongly support Obama

Obama IS the chosen one, by the MSM anyway. The MSM is not left leaning anymore, they are firmly planted on the left. The leaning stopped with Obama, and he will be the next POTUS, even if the MSM has to use every trick in the book to make it happen. Including acts of perjury.

McCain breaks with economic adviser over *whiners* remark

July 11th, 2008 . by TexasFred

WASHINGTON — Republican John McCain rebuked his friend and adviser Phil Gramm on Thursday for saying the U.S. has become a “nation of whiners” about the economy and that the nation is in a “mental recession.”

“Phil Gramm does not speak for me,” the presumptive GOP presidential nominee said. “I speak for me.”

Gramm, a former Texas senator and economics professor, told The Washington Times that “we have sort of become a nation of whiners. You just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness.”

He went on to say the U.S. is not in a recession, which is defined as two consecutive quarters of negative growth, but many people seem to think so. “You’ve heard of mental depression; this is a mental recession.”

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama jumped on Gramm’s comments. “America already has one Dr. Phil,” Obama said in Virginia, referring to TV personality Phil McGraw. “When it comes to the economy, we don’t need another.”

McCain breaks with economic adviser over *whiners* remark

In 1776 our forefathers put their lives and fortunes on the line when they signed the Declaration of Independence. They didn’t settle for 2nd best. They didn’t choose the lesser of 2 evils. They chose freedom and they staked their lives and liberty on that great act of revolution. They were true men of substance and courage.

It’s a crying shame that we don’t still have a majority of real patriots in America, individuals that fit the mold of a patriot, the men that made this nation great.

Sen. Gramm is only speaking the obvious. McCain can’t accept that, neither can Obama, and that’s because it goes against everything that both of these politicians stand for. McCain and Obama are as near to being the same politically as people can be, there is not more than 2 degrees of separation in their political viewpoint.

We have had Dem and Dem Lite forced upon us, and it’s time for American Conservatives to wake up and FIGHT. It’s time to take this nation back. It’s time to wrest this nation from the hands of the 2 most destructive forces in American politics, the DNC and the RNC.

Are there any real PATRIOTS left in this nation? Or have the vast majority become nothing more than a bunch of simpering, apathetic appeasers?

There is still an opportunity to save this nation, but it’s going to take more than a handful of real PATRIOTS, it’s going to take the commitment of REAL Conservatives, and we must totally denounce BOTH candidates and organize the biggest, and most effective write-in campaign in American history.

NBC News is asked to set record straight on *deceitful* editing

May 20th, 2008 . by TexasFred

NEW YORK - The White House on Monday called on NBC News to set the record straight on “deceitful” editing of an interview with President Bush, in which correspondent Richard Engel asks whether comments about the president of Iran were directed at Barack Obama.

Bush aides were angered by how the president’s answer was portrayed when Engel questioned him about his condemnation of “the false comfort of appeasement” in an address last week to the Israeli Knesset. NBC stood by its treatment of the interview Monday.

Bush had mentioned the president of Iran in his speech and said: “Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along.”

Obama’s campaign considered that statement an attack on him, which the White House has denied.

Engel asked Bush if he was referring to Obama in his speech.

As it appeared on “Nightly News” Sunday and the “Today” show Monday, Bush’s response was: “You know, my policies haven’t changed, but evidently the political calendar has … And when, you know, a leader of Iran says that they want to destroy Israel, you’ve got to take those words seriously.”

But the White House said NBC edited out these words that Bush said between those two sentences: “People need to read the speech. You didn’t get it exactly right, either. What I said was that we need to take the words of people seriously.”

See the full text of the White House letter

Full Story Here:
Complaint over Bush interview edit

I think most people that read here already know, I’m not a big fan of George Bush, I have never been a big fan of the guy, I think he’s a very ineffectual president, I think he took the wrong course when he took us to Iraq and there have been more than a few things said about his love of ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

When Bush speaks, you don’t have to edit it to get some kind of different message out there, and when the man is right, when I feel he’s right, I will come to his defense, and this time, I feel he’s very right.

If the MSM had their way, Obama would be in the process of coronation, he is the darling of the left leaning media, and yeah, I do include NBC in that group.

What the MSM needs to realize it this, it’s not their job to make the news, it’s not their job to interpret the news, their job is to report the news, exactly as it happened. The guy on the anchor desk isn’t a political analyst, he’s a talking head, most reporters are as dumb as a box of rocks and the guys in the editing room have no business editing out anything that isn’t beneath standards, regardless of who says it.

I am all for 1st amendment rights, I exercise mine here daily, but I don’t re-write the news. I use their story, exactly as it’s written, and then I add my perspective to it in the form of commentary, and if that were what NBC had done, reported exactly what the president had said, and then thrown in their commentary, with the caveat that it was commentary, then they did nothing wrong.

If they deliberately edited the words of the president to make it appear that he said something he didn’t, or to make their readers perceive his words in a way that was totally different than the specific intent, then NBC needs to ‘man up’ and admit they were wrong, change the story back to it’s original content and issue a very public apology to the White House, the nation and to President Bush.

Obama Mentor Ted Kennedy’s Anti-Gun Career

May 17th, 2008 . by TexasFred
Obama Mentor Ted Kennedy’s Anti-Gun Career
by: Chris W. Cox NRA-ILA Executive Director
The man who has cast more anti-gun votes than any other lawmaker in U.S. history has endorsed a candidate for president. On Jan. 28, Sen. Ted Kennedy formally, and to great fanfare, bestowed his political blessing on Sen. Barack Obama.

As he basked in the Kennedy family limelight, Obama proclaimed: “I don’t think there’s anybody who understands the possibilities of government more than Ted Kennedy . . . he has been on the front lines, he knows what it takes.”

The junior senator from Illinois gushed on, saying of Kennedy, “Nobody’s better than him. What’s amazing is his voice has all the power of 30, 40 years ago. He is at the heart and soul of the Democratic Party. To have him offer such a powerful endorsement I think will mean a lot. Obviously, there are people who are still getting familiar with me nationwide. Their vision of this day will make them give me a close look.”

I sure hope that Obama’s last comment is correct. As the old proverb goes: ‘When the character of a man is not clear to you, look at his friends.’

Let’s take a quick look at the shameful anti-gun record of Sen. Obama’s good friend and benefactor Ted Kennedy. Obama was still in elementary school when Kennedy proposed his ‘Personal Safety Firearms Act of 1973.’

Taking to the Senate floor, Kennedy claimed: ‘Gun control laws in the United States are woefully inadequate. In our vast society guns should have no reasonable role.’ (Emphasis added.) This was Kennedy’s voice 30, 40 years ago.

That same voice contemptuously dismissed the right that the Founding Fathers recognized and sought to protect for future generations of Americans the right to own and possess arms for self-defense, for hunting, for simple personal enjoyment.

‘For the American family in 1973, fear, apprehension, mistrust, anguish and pain are the dreaded products of our firearms history,’ Kennedy claimed.

Summarizing his bill for his col-leagues, Kennedy said it would require:

‘First, the registration of every civilian-owned gun in this country. Second, it will require all gun owners to pass stringent qualifying procedures to legally possess a gun and, third, it bans the domestic output of all hand-held firearms that are not designed for sporting purposes.’

Obama, recently named “the most liberal senator for 2007 in the National Journal’s annual ratings”would probably characterize this all-out assault on our Second Amendment rights as exercising ‘the possibilities of government.’

Kennedy’s fellow senators understood differently, however, and soundly rejected his legislation on a 78-11 vote.

Undaunted, Kennedy continued to charge full steam ahead. In 1979, his constant efforts to abolish our Right to Keep and Bear Arms brought him to the attention of the Senate Ethics Committee. Obama may think nobody’s better than Kennedy, but the committee unanimously rebuked Kennedy for improperly using Senate stationery to write fund-raising letters for gun-ban groups that included the National Coalition to Ban Handguns.

It’s safe to say that there is not a single outrageous anti-gun position Ted Kennedy has failed to support in his long career. He has voted to ban semi-automatic rifles, pistols and shotguns. He has attempted to make it a federal crime to purchase more than two handguns in a year. He has proposed 21-day waiting periods on all gun purchases. He has made several attempts to ban centerfire hunting ammunition.

When his gun and ammunition bans failed, Sen. Kennedy fought tooth and nail to protect the gun control lobby’s schemes to bankrupt the American firearm industry. And don’t think that the gun confiscations from law-abiding citizens in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina troubled Kennedy in the least. He was one of only 16 senators to vote against the nra-backed ‘Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act’ that became federal law on Oct. 9, 2006. The ‘Not Sweet 16′, as we have labeled them, also included Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The man Obama praises as having ‘been on the front lines’ has throughout his career been a staunch opponent of the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Why? Because, in his words, ‘It seems to validate the role of firearms as an acceptable and attractive part of our daily life.’

Given his comments about his grand endorser, it’s fair to say that Barack Obama would govern in the style of Ted Kennedy, appoint an attorney general who holds Ted Kennedy’s values and nominate Supreme Court justices who view the world as Ted Kennedy does. That is a frightening prospect for gun owners.

Obama Mentor Ted Kennedy’s Anti-Gun Career

This should give everyone a very clear picture of where my sympathies lie for this gun-grabbing son of a bootlegger, maybe now the Massholes that elected him will have a chance to reflect on their choice.

I am sitting here listening to FOX News and all the reporters and others are blubbering and singing the praises of Kennedy as if he were already dead, well, even if he does die, I am going to make this very clear, I have always considered Teddy Kennedy as an enemy, an abortion supporting, gun grabbing liberal and not worth more than a few lines of criticism from time to time.

This current health crisis has done nothing to change my opinions either but it’s going to be interesting to see just which so-called Conservative politicians come out singing his praises.
