Federal budget deficit hits record

Federal budget deficit hits record

WASHINGTON – The federal government began the new budget year with a record deficit of $237.2 billion, reflecting the billions of dollars the government has started to pay out to rescue the financial system.

The Treasury Department says the deficit for the first month in the new budget year was the highest monthly imbalance on record. It was more than four times larger than the October 2007 deficit of $56.8 billion.

The big surge reflected the government spending $115 billion to buy stock in the nation’s largest banks. Those were the first payments made from the $700 billion government rescue program passed by Congress to deal with the most severe financial crisis to hit the country since the 1930s.

I am going to preface this by saying: I am NOT a Republican nor a Democrat, I am an Independent Conservative.

This nation is in a mess, and I place the blame squarely on George W. Bush, he is, after all, the guy in charge, and as Truman said, “The buck stops here”.

It has happened under his watch, he encouraged the Wall Street bailout, many RINOs supported that bailout, Cornyn and Hutchison from Texas immediately come to mind.

Nearly ALL the Dems in the senate supported it, including Obama, I am NOT pointing at any individual, I am pointing at ALL of them, our elected officials that have taken this nation into a state of Socialism and *We, the People* are paying for it!

Until the voters of this nation stand up to the FREE SPENDING, give it all away politicos in D.C. and force this nation back into a position of fiscal responsibility, and serious conservatism, this is ALL we can expect, from the current and all future administrations.

Palin blames Bush policies for GOP defeat

November 10th, 2008 . by TexasFred

Palin blames Bush policies for GOP defeat

WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, amid speculation she’ll run for president in four years, blamed Bush administration policies for the defeat last week of the GOP ticket and prayed she wouldn’t miss “an open door” for her next political opportunity.

“I’m like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I’m like, don’t let me miss the open door,” Palin said in an interview with Fox News on Monday. “And if there is an open door in ‘12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I’ll plow through that door.”

In a wide-ranging interview with Fox’s Greta Van Susteren, Palin says she neither wanted nor asked for the $150,000-plus wardrobe the Republican Party bankrolled, and thought the issue was an odd one at the end of the campaign, considering “what is going on in the world today.”

“I did not order the clothes. Did not ask for the clothes,” Palin said. “I would have been happy to have worn my own clothes from Day One. But that is kind of an odd issue, an odd campaign issue as things were wrapping up there as to who ordered what and who demanded what.”

The very 1st paragraph speaks VOLUMES concerning the defeat that the Republicans have suffered in the 2008 elections. Palin has hit a home run with that statement.

I could NOT bring myself to support McCain, even with Palin on the ticket, and it wasn’t because OF Palin, it was because I was afraid McCain would live through 2 terms in the White House and would do at least as much damage as Bush has done and Obama is like TO do, and truly would be Bush all over again.

Many bloggers that I read, and several that I have great respect for, made their case saying that Obama WILL appoint liberal Justices for the SCOTUS as vacancies come available, and he likely will, but McCain was just as likely to have gone back to HIS liberal ways and done the exact same thing as Obama. McCain is NOT a conservative, he IS a RINO, and his past words and past performance have never given him a clearly distinguished line between his beliefs and those of most libbers.

Palin may have a great future in the Republican party, IF the RNC returns to some reasonable level of conservatism and gets as far away from the *Dem Lite* that they have become. Palin needs a bit of seasoning, more training and more study in WORLD matters before she can be a solid consideration, but her conservative credentials are NOT in question, and lets face it, she is, right now, more highly qualified to be POTUS than Barack Obama ever was.

The mid-terms of 2010 will be interesting, but the big one of 2012 will be an awesome occurrence, it is my express hope that the RNC can and will get it’s act together and take the GOP back to the level of conservatism that they enjoyed with Reagan. If they can’t get it together and do this, then it is my hope that WE, the Conservatives of this nation can take a 3rd party candidate to levels of success that is heretofore unheard of!!

And if that’s the case, people like Duncan Hunter, Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal and Michael Steele can champion a new chapter in American political history as Conservatives take this nation back and return it to it’s proper place of importance in the grand scheme of world matters!

There are NO wasted votes

October 26th, 2008 . by TexasFred

There are NO wasted votes

But there are MOONBATS, on ALL sides of this presidential race, ALL sides. I am probably going to piss some folks off with this post, but you know what? I really don’t give a DAMN, this blog is a HOBBY, it doesn’t pay the bills, as a matter of fact it costs ME money, and here on TexasFred’s, MY opinion is the one that counts. You like what I have to say?? Great, I truly appreciate my readers and have no problem with disagreement, reasonable, sane disagreement, not the name calling BS that the banned libbers like to engage you with. But, if ya don’t like it here, leave. I don’t want to cause anyone to feel uncomfortable. How simple can it be?

This rant was inspired by a post HERE and the quoted post below.

If you’re a Conservative and you didn’t vote for McCain/Palin and, perhaps, voted for another lesser candidate that more - ahem - aligned with your philosophy, then you’ll get your wish: Barack HUSSEIN Obama. Because a vote for a candidate other than McCain/Palin = a vote for Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

Simple as that.

You vote your “conscience”? Equals Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

You stay away from the polls because you’re making a “statement”? Equals Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

So I would throw this out for those who “voted their conscience” or wanted to “make a personal statement” by voting for anyone OTHER than the McCain/Palin ticket:

You’d best consume a large cup of “shut the hell up” when the Obamessiah Reigns Supreme come November 4th.

Because, quite frankly, you pissed away your right to complain by voting for a complete electoral LOSER such as Bob Barr or Mickey Mouse or ANYONE other than McCain/Palin.

If they lose, I don’t want to hear or read a PEEP out of you, you destroyer.

Post can be found HERE

The above quoted post is the biggest crock of BULL SHIT I have ever seen, 100% pure BULL SHIT!! If you voted, you did your duty, no matter WHO you voted for.

If you DON’T vote, then you have no right to gripe, but to make ANY attempt at forcing, by ANY means, coercing a person to vote for a candidate in this manner is wrong, on MANY levels. To denigrate a voter by using this lame BULL SHIT excuse of *A vote for anyone other than McLame* is pure propaganda. The last time I checked, we are still the land of the free, at least for now, and as such, I am free to vote for the candidate that I feel best represents me and MY beliefs.

We have freedom of choice in this nation, at least for now, and a vote for ANY viable candidate is an exercise in freedom of choice, to demand otherwise, to denigrate a person for exercising that freedom of choice, is bordering on communistic tyranny!

A vote for Mickey Mouse IS a wasted vote, on that I DO agree, a vote for any person NOT on the ballot IS a wasted vote, but this is an election, and EVERY vote counts, no matter who it’s cast for. I have worked very hard AGAINST Obama, no one can deny that, but I lost all respect for McLame when he turned the final page by voting FOR the bail out! That, for me, was the final straw.

I wasted my vote?? I gave Obama a vote because I voted for Bob Barr? I wasted my vote because I voted my conscience? Go screw yourself!! I was true to MY beliefs, not those of some asshole that would attempt to BULLY a person or scare a person into voting THEIR way. I will NOT bow to peer pressure, or any other pressure, I have a few people that I need to make happy, they are blood family, and my peers are not on the list!

On Nov 5th, when the numbers come in, IF Obama wins with better numbers than McLame and Barr put together, I am afraid I am going to be in a “You can ALL kiss my ass” mood. And to be really honest with you, I am damn near there now!!

I did NOT stay home, I did NOT vote for Obama, if you find that VULGAR, ask yourself WHY I have that “Kiss my ass” attitude. Opinions are like assholes so they say, we ALL have one, and they ALL stink… The post quoted above is a case in point!!

And if this post makes you hate me, if this post makes you NEVER want to read here again, oh well, adios, you will NOT be missed…

What has this nation become? An Op/Ed by TexasFred

What has this nation become? An Op/Ed by TexasFred

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) - The sheriff of a rural Texas county next to the Mexican border was arrested at his office Tuesday after being indicted on charges alleging he was involved in a large-scale cocaine and marijuana smuggling operation.

MOBILE, Ala. — Former America’s Junior Miss choreographer George Fagan has pleaded guilty in Florida to sex charges involving a minor and faces six years in prison, plus four years probation.

Ex-Jr. Miss Dance Teacher Pleads Guilty in Child Sex Case

ABILENE, Texas — A teacher initially placed on leave over a book controversy has been charged with trying to have sexual contact with three students, allegedly even asking one girl what she would do for a better grade.

Police: Texas Teacher Offered Better Grade for Sex

What have we allowed this nation to become? We have teachers that are seducing, molesting and raping our children. We have law enforcement officials, high ranking officials, that engage in drug smuggling and the importation of ILLEGAL aliens, the very acts that they are charged with stopping and protecting us from.

We have preachers that are bilking people out of millions of dollars, all for *show*, because they certainly have NO connection to faith, other than the faith they have in their ability to con good people out of even more money.

We have church officials, from nearly ALL denominations, that engage in sexual affairs with their parishioners, or, lacking that, some that force themselves on young victims, in violation of the law, but more importantly, a violation of faith and trust as they corrupt the most innocent among us, the children!

Then we have folks that do try, that try to do the very best they can in life, they work, they take care of their families, they pay their taxes and they don’t cause problems for anyone. But now, because of all the crime and corruption that is running rampant in America, decent people now feel like they must go armed, all the time, even in the confines of their own homes, or, as in the story below, to a ball game that their child is playing in. I am one of those people. I don’t carry a gun to feel big and bad, I have absolutely no desire to use the gun I carry, but I will use it, and I will never hesitate, not out of some misplaced machismo, but because I refuse to willingly allow myself or my family to become victims. Victims, because we rolled over and refused to fight back!

LEBANON, Pa. (AP) - A mother who angered fellow parents when she openly carried a pistol to her 5-year-old daughter’s soccer game got her concealed weapons permit back Tuesday after a Pennsylvania judge overruled a sheriff’s decision to revoke it.

Full Story Here:
Gun-toting Pa. mom gets back concealed gun permit

The good people of this nation are in a really bad spot. We don’t have a voice anymore, we feel that if WE don’t protect our homes and families, certainly no one else will. We accept personal responsibility for our actions. We make every attempt to try and put this nation back on the straight and narrow. We get our asses handed to us by Congressional and Senate members that vote to turn the U.S.A. into a socialist nation.

It’s called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY folks, and if the American people, as a MAJORITY, don’t stand up, as one, and DEMAND that this nation, and it’s leaders adhere to that personal responsibility, the America that we once knew is gone forever.

I am not pointing fingers at ANY individual party or persons, I am pointing my finger at ALL parties, and any person that refuses to stand FOR this nation and refuses to work as hard as necessary to bring the United States back to the forefront as an example of what a nation should look like.

What has this nation become? A 50/50 mix of patriots versus antagonists, perverts, crooks and charlatans, those that would give us over to One World Government, crime and perversion at ANY opportunity. The truly sad part is, the numbers in government are even more lopsided, more like 3 to 1 in favor of killing America as it once was. If any doubt those figures, simply look at the recent vote our Congress and Senate made regarding the Wall Street bailout and the unbelievable infusion of TAX dollars into the private market.

It’s called socialism, and we are living it!

Commentary: Sam Donaldson on Economic Socialism

October 14th, 2008 . by TexasFred

Sam Donaldson on Economic Socialism

After Ronald Reagan was shot. he joked to his doctors just before the operation that saved his life — “I hope you are all Republicans” — to which the doctors replied, “Today, Mr. President, we are all Republicans.”

Well today, with the possibility of another worldwide financial depression staring us in the face, it turns out our doctors are all socialists. Yes, socialism has now washed over free market capitalism and only a very brave, or foolhardy few would protest.

The federal government has nationalized the banks, the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve doors have opened wide and taxpayer money flows faster than quicksilver, and this week, the presidential candidates have each come up with new, immediate relief plans that have the government intervening in a way that costs a lot more money. The candidates have realized, late, but finally, that the economic pain Americans are feeling must be felt now — thank you, Bill Clinton — not next January when one of them becomes president.

And how much would all this government spending cost? Who knows. The estimate of what the federal government has put into place so far is well more than $1 trillion, the next fiscal year’s deficit may be $750 billion or higher.

Yes, some will cry “socialism” but that cry in today’s crowded theater of worried Americans won’t stop this train.

Make no mistake; we are living in a new age. Just as we will never go back to a pre-9/11 security mentality, we will never go back to the free market, deregulated economic policies in the same degree that brought us to this crisis.

Full Story Here:
Commentary: Sam Donaldson on Economic Socialism

I have to agree with Sam Donaldson on his commentary. I don’t have a lot of use for the MSM, and anyone that has read my blog more than once or twice knows that, but there are a few in the NEWS business that do still retain a sense of ethics, standards and decency. Sam Donaldson is one of them.

The government has opened up the floodgates, our money is going down the river, and it is being wasted in a gross exhibition of futility in an attempt to save the bad business ventures that brought all of this on in the 1st place.

I am reminded of the old *joke* that goes, ‘Yes, the operation was a success, but the patient died’. We are the patient, and the operation is well under way, and WE are on life support right now. The politicians can wrangle back and forth all they want, the pundits can make all the snide remarks they can come up with, the fact still remains, the USA has been yanked from the capitalist market and thrust into the world of global socialism.

Our Congress and Senate did this, our One World president urged it on, and then he immediately signed it into law. It is MY opinion that ANYONE still supporting any of the lawmakers that voted FOR this debacle, the Socialization of America, is as much an empowerment tool of socialism, and is as much responsible for it as those that touted it, and those that forced it off on the American people.

If you lay with the dogs, you’re going to wake up with fleas.
