Republican Party seems as divided, angry as ever

Tea-Party-MovementBOSTON (AP) - The Republican Party seems as divided and angry as ever.

Infighting has penetrated the highest levels of the House GOP leadership. Long-standing geographic tensions have increased, pitting endangered Northeastern Republicans against their colleagues from other parts of the country. Enraged tea party leaders are threatening to knock off dozens of Republicans who supported a measure that raised taxes on the nation’s highest earners.

“People are mad as hell. I’m right there with them,” Amy Kremer, chairman of the Tea Party Express, said late last week, declaring that she has “no confidence” in the party her members typically support. Her remarks came after GOP lawmakers agreed to higher taxes but no broad spending cuts as part of a deal to avert the “fiscal cliff.”

“Anybody that voted ‘yes’ in the House should be concerned” about primary challenges in 2014, she said. SOURCE

This story says a lot in the 1st four paragraphs; it tells the truth about the mood of the GOP, it illustrates exactly WHY I am not a member of the GOP and it points out that the TEA Party is waiting until it’s too late to take a swing at that *fast ball* the Democrats AND mainstream GOP know that the TEA Party can’t hit, and keep on throwing to them.

If you were ever a baseball player or if you follow baseball you’ll understand that one.

I actually agree with Amy Kremer on this one, ALL GOP Representatives that voted YES on the *fiscal cliff* deal with Obama and Company need to be removed in 2014. Of that there is NO doubt.

I still hear people asking, “How in the world did a guy like Barack Obama ever get elected and then get re-elected?”

The answer is quite simple actually; in 2008 and 2012 the GOP ran the most pathetic, the weakest and the most unelectable tickets imaginable. When the GOP put forth a ticket of McCain/Palin I was one of the 1st to say, “that’s a weak ticket and one that will be hard to win with.”

My longtime readers KNOW how I felt about McCain/Palin, like any other subject I take on in the blog; I was VERY vocal and honest in my opinions on the electability of those candidates.

The Democrats ran a candidate that NOTHING was known about, ran his as if he were the Second Coming of Christ and a Rock Star all rolled into one, they played BIG on the fact that Obama was BLACK, even though he is only PART BLACK, and they threw *The RACE CARD* any time someone spoke out against Obama in an effort to further this thing called *white guilt*.

The American voters fell for it; hook, line and sinker.

Fast forward to 2012 and look at what the GOP offered up as candidates; a field made up of *weak sister* types that generated about as much excitement as watching paint dry.

Now, re-read the part above right after “How in the world did a guy like Barack Obama ever get elected and then get re-elected?” and think 2012, there is your answer.

The GOP is a joke! Michael Steele was a *token* Black Man, he was a *weak sister* type right from the start. He inspired NO confidence, he wasn’t a leader, his political acumen was not what I would call *good enough* to be the Chairman of the RNC and I have to say, the 1st election of Barack Obama was as much him (Steele) as it was anything or anyone else.

Then we get Reince Priebus as the new Chairman. Need I say more?

What’s largely causing the dissension? A lack of a clear GOP leader with a single vision for the party.

Again I point out these 2 words: Reince Priebus…

Let me say this, and I direct my words to ALL that consider themselves to be TEA Party members and GOP members; LEADERSHIP is everything! The GOP lacks leadership and the TEA Party apparently doesn’t believe in it, not any kind of strong leadership.

You can’t lead a nation, a political party, a company or a grassroots movement without a LEADER. You can’t lead by *suggestion*, you can have input from your members, as well you should, but ultimately, a STRONG leader has to emerge, one that will hear and listen to those suggestions, but in the end, that LEADER must make the final decision as to what is right and which way is the BEST way for his/her group to go. That is what a real leader does.

Here is where term limits, the power of the vote and RECALL come into play; IF that leader doesn’t listen to suggestions and goes on to make some horrendous decisions, well, the people are left with no other choice but to remove that particular leader from a position of power and replace him/her with a new leader.

Just make sure you don’t replace BAD or WEAK leaders with ones that are worse. That applies to the GOP/RNC, the TEA Party and most any other type of organization.

Did you know that Mitt Romney’s father, George was NOT born in the USA??
    George was born in MEXICO.
This also meant the son MITT was not really eligible to be President.
Both parents MUST be born in the USA. The term is “natural” born.
If Mitt had won, all hell would of happened!

So, the existing Repub party is toast!!.
Now time to get the true believers of our Constitution into one party.

I agree whole heartedly with the assessment of the GOP. Especially the fact that NEasterners are in charge and they DO NOT represent the rest of conservative America. Really though, in 2012, too many conservatives threw hats in the ring and divided the consevative vote allowing the 30 something % of Romney supporters to screw the pooch last year.

I like Sarah Palin so I disagree there with Fred. I just wish she would drop her celebrity status and get her daughter under control. As to the Tea Party. I would jump for joy if somehow Allen West could become head of it. He would be a rallying point for real conservatives and would disempower the NE GOP/RNC moderate(Rino) establishment. Others I like are John Bolton and Liz Cheney. I’m sure there are even more that I don’t know about.

We conservatives need someone with spunk, fire and independence. Have’nt had that since Reagan. The GOP/RNC didn’t like him either. He just told them who “paid for this debate”. Those Reagan Dems of his have been sitting out elections waiting for a real American conservative to follow. Romney, McCain and the Bushs were not of that type.

Regarding Palin: Other than Palin, we’re pretty much in agreement.. Her celebrity status and her daughter, the constant drama, the goofy remarks AND there’s the fact that no matter what YOU or anyone else says, she is a QUITTER..

No matter the reason, no matter the *spin*, the heat got turned up and she QUIT, THAT is what I really have against Palin… And if she runs in 2016 and were to get the nomination, you can kiss the White House goodbye, the GOP will have wandered off into La-La Land for good..

      A POX on Sarah Palin…

And if the TEA Party had BALLS, they would have a leader like Allen West, but they don’t, they are, for the most part, a bunch of talkers that are afraid of offending anyone… I speak in the 1st person of knowledge there, I was the VP of out local TEA Party in its inception and it rapidly turned into a politically correct *old woman* sowing circle…

Between Obama and the GOP, they are pushing this country into an inevitable civil war. Won’t have to worry about the “next election”. What I see coming is much more serious.

  4. Katie says:

I heard this before Fred. In 2008 when Obama won a first term. We returned in force for 2010 then petered out.

Will we be back in 2014? For I fear there will not be a 2016 election.

  5. Always On Watch says:

As a whole, voters are so damned gullible. Thank the media and the public education system for this debacle.

  6. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

    1. You may as well name the guy Prince Reibus for all the good he does. No one knows him, no one cares, he’s another mealy-mouthed empty suit for the GOP.

    2. Now having to fight the GOP as well, it’s all over but the crying. The nation is too far gone. It simply doesn’t have the collective political and logical strength of WILL to put itself back on track. The people who want their FREE CHEESE are now neck-and-neck with those who do not demand it.

OK, a question for ALL: Do we just ROLL OVER and let it all go away or do we FIGHT?

We may lose, hell, we may DIE, but suppose we win?

And if we don’t, and DIE trying, maybe we’re still better off than the poor bastards left that have to suffer through another Reich…

Good question. We are very split. As soon as the govt takes over the internet we will lose our commo so we will still be diluted and split. Shit, I just don’t know. Due to 50 yrs. of leftist bullshit propaganda the actual percentage of conservatives is low. That showed in the last election. If conservatives actually stayed home then they really screwed the pooch. Between welfare receipiants, govt educated idiots, turd world immigrants and fraud I don’t think conservatives can win a national election. My feint hope would be for a bunch of red states to unite and secede. Can it happen?

44mag - I was born in 1945 and saw America at it’s apex. I had optimism until 1988. I worried about Bush 41 and I was right. Downhill from there. A great ride while it lasted. I bet most of it won’t be in future textbooks.
