Soldier’s release began as part of peace process

I am thinking that unless something truly significant breaks concerning Bowe Bergdahl that this will be my last post about him for a while. He is rapidly becoming an all around despicable character and the story being told by the Obama White House is a LIE!

Soldier’s release began as part of peace process

Bowe BergdahlWASHINGTON — For 2 1/2 years, the Obama administration maneuvered to make negotiations to free Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl the start of a larger peace process for Afghanistan, one that would ease the U.S. exit from the country.

But by the time President Barack Obama called the emir of Qatar last week to obtain an assurance from the Arab leader that the five Taliban detainees released from Guantánamo Bay in exchange for Bergdahl would not be able to conduct operations from the tiny peninsula in the Persian Gulf, the president’s objectives were vastly reduced.

Instead of a broad peace accord, Obama had decided on a straight prisoner swap.

Obama’s team, fearing that their leverage and their ability to gather intelligence would be vastly reduced after most U.S. troops return from Afghanistan at the end of this year, believed this could well be what one senior official called “a last chance” to retrieve Bergdahl. A video of him, provided by the Taliban as “proof of life” six months ago, reinforced the fear that the 28-year-old prisoner’s condition was deteriorating. SOURCE

At the risk of sounding like Captain Obvious; someone in this brouhaha is a no good liar and is making it up as things progress. I don’t want to cast aspersions at Barack Hussein Obama or his loathsome minions, but if the shoe fits.

Deteriorating health huh? Well, OK, maybe so, maybe Obama wants Bergdahl to come back to America and get well so he can be the new spokesman for ObamaCare. Would that come as a big surprise if it DID happen? Yes, that IS sarcasm.

The Obama administration was concerned with Bowe Bergdahl’s health? That was the reason Obama gave up 5 high level Taliban *shot callers*? Then I wonder why this story is out and about now? Pentagon knew Bergdahl’s whereabouts but didn’t risk rescue for ‘deserter’.

The Pentagon on several occasions had ground-level intelligence on where Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was being held captive at various times — down to how many gunmen were guarding him — but special operations commanders repeatedly shelved rescue missions because they didn’t want to risk casualties for a man they believed to be a “deserter,” sources familiar with the mission plans said.

“Leave No Man Behind”, that is part of the creed of ALL United States military branches and is a part of everyone that ever served.

Many times more troops were lost fulfilling that creed, it’s what our troops do and what we as a nation believe in, but troops aren’t going to risk their lives to rescue someone that is a deserter or a traitor.

According to the story from the Washington Times the Army KNEW that Bergdahl was a deserter and NOT a Prisoner of War as has been claimed for a very long time now. Many of us that have an idea of how the military works already knew, or we seriously suspected this to be the case.

You see, had SGT. Bowe Bergdahl truly been a POW, the military, Spec/Ops guys, would have moved heaven and earth and would have done everything in their power to get Bergdahl back.

If you have ANY doubt about that, any doubt at all; ask someone that served, ask and be prepared for an honest, heart-felt message regarding honor, duty, country and most of all, God and the Brotherhood of Arms.

From the original story:

For congressional Republicans, the exchange fit a larger narrative about Obama’s foreign policy — that once again he had ignored Congress by not notifying it 30 days in advance of any release from Guantánamo, and that once again he had been outwitted by a wily adversary.

I can’t begin to fathom the sheer ignorance of Barack Hussein Obama and his idea of what *foreign policy* is.

I know full well what operational security is, I have had to exercise it right here on the blog a few times when I had been made privy to Police and/or Military stories when I was given a *heads up* about something that was going to break and that’s why I am not buying the idea that Obama had to bypass Congress to pull off this prisoner swap.

Members of Congress have clearances I am guessing, some may even have Top Secret clearance, maybe higher than that. Obama only needed to invoke an order of secrecy and then attempt to get Congressional clearance for this exchange. I’m thinking that Obama knew going in that he wasn’t about to get Congressional approval, and in true Obama fashion, abused the power of his office and ordered it done anyway.

I have to admit; I don’t know chapter and verse what law(s) exactly were violated by the Obama administration in this action, but many sources are saying that the POTUS is required by law to notify Congress 30 days before any transfer of terrorists from the U.S. detention facility.

If that makes Obama guilty then Congress needs to take the bull by the horns and make a true believer in Law and Order out of Obama, but sadly, it won’t happen until after the election in November, and only then if the GOP can hold the House and retain the Senate.

It’s only been a week or so since the latest Obama foreign policy fumble took place, the *accidental outing* of the name of a CIA Station Chief in Afghanistan.

I don’t believe that Obama and Company had ample time to secure the release of Bowe Bergdahl to coincide with some lame attempt to deflect attention away from that little faux pas, but you have to wonder just what HAS happened, what is about to break that a story such as this would give Obama and his regime some serious and much needed cover.

I don’t guess we ever really know anymore, you see, the *most transparent administration* in history looks about as muddy as the Mississippi River at New Orleans.

obama and his crew have managed another clusterfuck. I’m guessing obama thought they could keep Bergdahl’s desertion a secret. Dumb Shit has no clue about the military grapevine. In the Special Forces community Bergdahl was outed as a deserter the day he left his post. Again obama in trying to pull a flim flam on us stepped in deep deep crapola. This administration is so dishonest and inept that it is leaving Jimmy Carter’s second place as America’s worst prez. farther and farther behind. obama and crew are so screwed up that I can visualize Hillary maybe saying, “Oh Screw 2016” rather than possibly losing in a landslide.

Meantime what about Benghazi, IRS, keeping your doctor and insurance, Fast and Furious and all the other Scandals of the Week? At what point will even the MSM decide to stop toting the Teh One’s water. At what point(if ever) will the GOP leaders in Congress finally ball up and go after obama for his illegalities? They sure have a bunch of crimes to choose from. There have to be many more gutsy GOPers than just Gowdy, Gohmert, Cruz, Lee.

Obama didn’t want to leave anybody behind except Ambassador Stephens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glen Doherty. He had no problems with leaving them behind.

Yeah, but to be fair, in the mind of the Obamites their health wasn’t failing, they were just being murdered… And when you’re from Chicago like *cheese dick* and his crowd, murder is no big deal…

  3. Wayne says:

I agree Tom. Fred, this story should be the end of bo. The media could turn this thing around if they were truly the watchdogs they were intended to be. People like yourself, who post factual accounts are the reason that bo wants to turn the internet over to a world governing body. I pray that this doesn’t happen but it seems that we are living in a dictatorship of a world governing body already. bo is only the license plate on the bus.

The only time I ever heard Obama utter a true statement was when he said he was going to fundamentally change this nation. Anything he does or says is an effort to try and destroy the USA.

Are you surprised this White House would lie–I expect it. The SOB Should have been Impeached long ago and would have if Congress were functioning properly. Of course if Impeachment proceedings were started it would of course be racisst.

The best thing would be for Bergdahl to be brought to trial and, good or bad, let the truth come out. But I honestly don’t see that happening. At least not in any foreseeable future. I predict NOTHING will happen. Just as with all the other scandals, nothing will happen. Not one. damn. thing. After a period of time the media will turn to something else and this will be just another old story. Fade out.

-Passing this on- “We were at OP Mest, Paktika Province, Afghanistan. It was a small outpost where B Co 1-501st INF (Airbone) ran operations out of, just an Infantry platoon and ANA counterparts there. The place was an Afghan graveyard. Bergdahl had been acting a little strange, telling people he wanted to “walk the earth” and kept a little journal talking about how he was meant for better things. No one thought anything about it. He was a little “out there”. Next morning he’s gone. We search everywhere, and can’t find him. He left his weapon, his kit, and other sensitive items. He only took some water, a compass and a knife. We find some afghan kids shortly after who saw an american walking north asking about where the taliban are. We get hits on our voice intercepter that Taliban has him, and we were close. We come to realize the kid deserted his post, snuck out of camp and sought out Taliban… to join them. We were in a defensive position at OP Mest, where your focus is to keep people out. He knew where the blind spots were to slip out and that’s what he did. It was supposed to be a 4-day mission but turned into several months of active searching. Everyone was spun up to find this guy. News outlets all over the country were putting out false information. It was hard to see, especially when we knew the truth about what happened and we lost good men trying to find him. PFC Matthew Michael Martinek, Staff Sgt. Kurt Robert Curtiss, SSG Clayton Bowen, PFC Morris Walker, SSG Michael Murphrey, 2LT Darryn Andrews, were all KIA from our unit who died looking for Bergdahl. Many others from various units were wounded or killed while actively looking for Bergdahl. Fighting Increased. IEDs and enemy ambushes increased. The Taliban knew that we were looking for him in high numbers and our movements were predictable. Because of Bergdahl, more men were out in danger, and more attacks on friendly camps and positions were conducted while we were out looking for him. His actions impacted the region more than anyone wants to admit. There is also no way to know what he told the Taliban: Our movements, locations, tactics, weak points on vehicles and other things for the enemy to exploit are just a few possibilities. The Government knows full well that he deserted. It looks bad and is a good propaganda piece for the Taliban. They refuse to acknowledge it. Hell they even promoted him to Sergeant which makes me sick. I feel for his family who only want their son/brother back. They don’t know the truth, or refuse to acknowledge it as well. What he did affected his family and his whole town back home, who don’t know the truth. Either way what matters is that good men died because of him. He has been lying on all those Taliban videos about everything since his “capture”. If he ever returns, he should be tried under the UCMJ for being a deserter and judged for what he did. Bergdahl is not a hero, he is not a soldier or an Infantryman. He failed his brothers. Now, sons and daughters are growing up without their fathers who died for him and he will have to face that truth someday.”

i’ll keep it short and sweet.
we are technically at ‘war’ with terrorists, have been since 9-11.
mr. obama, with his pen and his phone, just released the WW2 equivalent of
goering, goebbels, himmler, keitel and jodl.
the enemy will not be languishing in a jail cell in qatar, but left free, in country, to
rally and direct the talibs and al-qaeda for a year; sounds like aiding and abetting
    to me.
Hamilton, Madison and Jay thought so too. they defined a ‘treasonable offense’
in article 3, section 3 of our constitution like this:
” Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”

in my humble, i think our folks on the hill should stop leading from behind with ‘hearings’ on who was told what and when. they should just indict the prez
for treason and let the supremes sort it out.

righteous folks died ’cause of bergdahl; many more will ’cause of mr. obama’s e/o.
in my humble opinion and just say’n…b

It is the five Terrorists who will kill again that are on my mind. Bergdahl is a distraction. This was the first of the rest of Gitmo coming our way again. Thanks Obummer.
