The case for impeachment of Barack Hussein Obama
This morning on WMALs “Morning on the Mall” radio show with hosts Brian and Larry I was asked a simple question relating to the Taliban prisoner release and impeachment of the president. I responded yes that in this current case, the U.S. House of Representatives should file articles of impeachment against Barack Hussein Obama.
Now before all the detractors go apoplectic here, let me tell you about Article 2 signing statements, their intent, purpose, history, and usage, and the implications for the president’s impeachment.
President Obama used an Article 2 signing statement to deem unconstitutional a measure HE had signed into law contained in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The law stated that he must advise Congress within 30 days about any plans to transfer detainees from GITMO. Obama basically stated that this was “unconstitutional” and that his unilateral action fell within his purview. Once again Obama used selective discretion as to what law he feels he must adhere to — in this case it has severe ramifications for our national security. SOURCE
Let me start this commentary off by saying; I love Allen West, I admire him greatly, I would NOT hesitate to vote for him in the position of POTUS or VPOTUS.
I have great confidence in Allen West and I have to say; if we were BOTH younger men and I was healthy and able to serve, I would follow Allen West on a campaign through HELL, while carrying a couple of 5 gallon cans full of gasoline.
I would love to see Barack Hussein Obama impeached, convicted of high crimes and misdemeanors and spending the rest of his life in a dark, dank hole in some Federal Prison. Calling for that impeachment is not at all out of line, it’s more like out of reach.
Obama will NOT be impeached until AFTER the November elections, and then only IF the GOP can retake the Senate and hold the House, and if they can come up with enough BALLS to actually do it.
Why would the United States acquiesce to the demands of a non-state, non-uniform terrorist organization — the Taliban? The Taliban is our enemy and it is not a nation-state with whom we should enter into negotiations. There are some 141 detainees at GITMO. The five released were senior Taliban officials, basically members of Mullah Omar’s inner circle. If we wanted to release detainees in exchange for Bergdahl, there were many others to choose from. Why these?
I wish we had a solid answer for that *WHY* from Allen West, it’s an answer that I am interested in hearing.
I can’t back these words up, it’s just MY opinion, but Obama never does anything that doesn’t serve HIS purpose in some way. There has to be some nefarious reasoning that has to be known before this can make sense. I am of the opinion that Obama has some grand plan as to WHO was released and WHY they were released, and somehow, it fits into one of his schemes.
The thing I seriously don’t understand is WHY did we do a 5 for 1 trade?
The rate of recidivism for GITMO released detainees has gone from 1 in 6 to 1 in 3 — and why would we think a one-year travel ban out of Qatar will be respected, or even make a difference with today’s modern communications technology? Even Obama has now stated they may just return to terrorist activity.
Obama knew going in that the chances of Qatar holding these Taliban leaders for a year was very slim, if even existent in the first place. If Obama claims to NOT know, then that further documents all the reasons why about HALF of America knows that Obama is a walking wreck as President and that his idea of what *foreign policy* is all about is that of the most inexperienced rookie imaginable.
Obama just released the leadership of a terrorist organization, and what did we get in return? A deserter, who by his own self-proclamation harbors anti-American sentiments — which it seems that Susan Rice, our esteemed National Security Advisor, didn’t even realize his heinous actions — or maybe as usual she just lied about it again. Bergdahl served the United States with honor and distinction? Let’s not send Susan Rice out ever again.
I have nothing to add to that, West nailed it.
To hear Obama state that “no American should be left behind” — has he forgotten about Benghazi and Marine SGT Tahmooressi? How about leaving behind American veterans to die?
Again, almost 100% agreement with West. The only thing I don’t agree on is why so many people are SO worried about a guy that drove into Mexico, with GUNS in his vehicle, and is now under arrest in a Mexican jail. Mexico does something that we don’t do; they take no excuses from criminals and they enforce their gun and illegal crossing laws.
Over the last 40 years I have been to Mexico many times, from one end of the border to the other, and I never saw a crossing that wasn’t well marked, with turn-offs built in place allowing you one last chance to avoid crossing the border. The only way you cross that border, especially at a major crossing, is deliberately, well, unless you’re too stupid to walk and chew gum at the same time.
Be that as it may:
Ladies and gentlemen, I submit that Barack Hussein Obama’s unilateral negotiations with terrorists and the ensuing release of their key leadership without consult — mandated by law — with the U.S. Congress represents high crimes and misdemeanors, an impeachable offense.
And yet again; 100% agreement with Allen West, every word is true and accurate.
So I call upon the leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives; Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to draft articles of impeachment as no one is above the law in America. The failure to do so speaks volumes.
In closing I have to say this: LTC. West, Sir, with all due respect; you are very correct in everything you have stated, presented and suggested, there is only ONE catch; it will never happen.
Even if there IS someone in the House willing to draw up the Articles, the Senate would trash them as soon as they were placed before them.
I fear that we are stuck with Barack Hussein Obama and his regime of malicious mischief and mayhem for the rest of his term. I can’t see a successful impeachment and removal from office of a sitting POTUS, especially THIS one.
May God have mercy on us ALL.
Obama will only become more evil as his term wanes. I cannot even imagine what the last year and months will be. What ever restraint he maintains before the fall election will be gone. Unless we have a super majority, he cannot be stopped.
435 reps in the House of Representatives and 100 Senators in The Senate and they cannot field enough votes to get something done about the anarchists in the executive branch? We will not make it to the 2016 elections. bo will be the last potus of the now disfunctional US of A. Fred, I would be right behind you with 10 more gallons of gas.
The problem is that the Democrats in congress are in unison with those “anarchists” that occupy the executive branch. GOP needs to win the 2014 elections by a wide margin to make any significant changes. Should that not come about civil war is the only option left on the table to return this nation to its constitutional roots. The Obama regime must be defeated for this Republic to survive.
Agreed, and I believe that is realistically the only option as of right now….but , have we lost our ‘balls ‘ as a nation…we’re surely evenly divided in opinions…
Harry Reid thinks what Obama did was fantastic. He’s glad to have them given over to Qatar where they’re resting in luxury hotels before heading back to the caves of Afghanistan to plot and kill Americans and innocent Afghans. With one of the most effeminate Obama butt kissers running the Senate, impeachment will never happen.

Is there anyway at all to have Dingy Reid removed as running the Senate? The guy is delusional, out of control, makes totally outrageous statements and slander and as far as i can see the guy has lost his marbles. Remove Reid and that improves the chances of having the Worst Modern Day President impeached and removed from office and into a nice concrete gray cell where he belongs!
As long as Harry Reid is occupying the Majority seat (supported by Vegas mob $$), no action will be taken against the president.

I do not believe Obama will be impeached. Indeed, I would be surprised if anything more than a few laws or resolutions out of the GOP House were passed (and then ignored by the Senate). I think Obama has figured out that he can do anything he wants.

Obama won’t be impeached, plain and simple. The country wouldn’t, as a whole, stand for it. But you KNOW he bypassed Congress precisely because they would have said: “that’s a terrible idea.”

OK, lets look at the impeachment of Barack Hussein Obama realistically.
Bear with me here, I got this from a wonderful U.S. Congressman and it makes more sense than anything I have ever heard. We can’t impeach Obama no matter what, and I am going to tell you exactly why; Hillary Clinton!
There is a Presidential line of succession if the POTUS were to be impeached and removed from office, die or become incapacitated in one form or another, and that line leads directly to Joe Biden, quite possibly the dumbest man on this planet.
The line of succession does NOT lead to a new Vice POTUS, that is an office that theoretically could remain vacant for a brief while but once a new POTUS, Biden, is seated, he can then choose his VP, quite likely Hillary Clinton.
That choice would give her an opportunity to campaign for the next 2 years, on the taxpayers dime, access to AF-2 to take her all over the USA and give her ultimate exposure and a chance to turn many *on the fence* Dems and moderates to her camp.
That can’t be allowed to happen and THAT is the reason we really don’t want to impeach Barack Hussein Obama.
That does make sense. But, I do have one thing about her campaigning on the taxpayers dime. I believe she will be doing that exactly. Remember, Six Billion Dollars were unaccounted for during her time as SecState. I would bet some of that money will be used for her campaign.
