Pope Francis Scolds Congress for Gun and Weapons Sales

Pope Francis Scolds Congress for Gun and Weapons Sales

On September 24, Pope Francis scolded Congress for guns and weapons which are manufactured in America and sold around the world.

He said he was determined “to minimize and, in the long term, to end the many armed conflicts throughout our world,” as he addressed the billion-dollar sales from American companies that he sees as a contributing factor to conflicts abroad. SOURCE

I *had* a Facebook friend that I dropped Saturday after he launched a screed about how HE is a Catholic and how the Pope is their leader and how HE was not going to tolerate ANYONE talking bad about the Pope.

It’s not talking bad about him if it’s the TRUTH, and that should serve as a warning to any and all that worship Pope Francis as to where THIS post is going.

Consider this; Pope Francis Says You’re Not a Christian If… You Own a Gun

Who gave the Pope the right to judge who is and isn’t a Christian?

As Mr. Crowder says in his story, “We’ve talked about it before. Multiple times, in fact. We respect Pope Francis and the Catholic Church. But we do not believe the Pope to be infallible. Sorry, them’s our rules.”

Well, I’m not as respectful of this Pope as is Mr. Crowder, or of any other Pope for that matter. I am a former Catholic, I was raised in the church until I was 17 years old and went into total rebellion against their teachings and what to this very day I consider to be a sham of a church based on idolatry and praying to those idols.

I remember once holding the belief that the Princes of the Catholic Church were in the business of forgiveness; that was what we were taught; the only way to forgiveness was to confess your sins to a priest and the priest would then absolve you of your sins and give you a *penance* to pay through the recitation of several prayers, they would actually tell you how many recitations to make of the standard *Hail Mary’s* or *Our Father’s* and then THEY would speak to God on YOUR behalf.

I never knew it was their place to tell me, or ANYONE else that they weren’t a Christian or that we couldn’t speak to God on our own behalf for that matter.

Judge not lest ye be judged.

He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.” — Luke 22:36, NIV

The interpretations of scripture are many and varied and I am not inclined to say, one way or another, who is right in this war of words over guns and ownership and being a good Christian. I have my own opinions but I would think that if Jesus said to sell your cloak and buy a sword, there would be NO argument regarding the meaning of this phrase and its intention.

Strangely, many Evangelicals don’t even consider Catholics to be Christians but I won’t go there, I just know that this *one world* socialist Pope can go shit in a sandbox, and quite frankly, I don’t care who likes that statement or not.

That’s because he’s a shill for the NWO who want to take-over and control everything in the world, and how can they do that if people have the ability to protect themselves and shoot them first!

  2. NativeSon says:

I know “his holiness” (my tongue is firmly planted in cheek) is supposed to be a virgin….I have two words for him and the SECOND is “you!”
My God was born of a virgin, died and rose again!

HE is The ONE I worship!

I care what the pope says about as much as I care what Hussein says!

It has always been hard to reconcile the Catholic church and the biblical teachings of grace. It also seems to negate some of the wonderful things that Jesus accomplished by his sacrifice. I had a crisis of faith in my 30’s and got a degree in religious studies that had me look at all Christian faiths. While I am ecstatic that Catholics believe in my Lord and Savior, I can’t hold with this Pope nonsense.

  4. Hate to say it, but the Catholic Church, like all large bureaucracies, is all about self-preservation of the franchise, self-enrichment, and extending their influence. It is not enough to be neutral in an evil world as those who stand idly by are as complicit as those who transgress.

The idea that the Pope would countenance disarming innocent law-abiding populations in the face of the clear and present danger posed by Islam or those evildoers who would take your property and your life is symptomatic of a man who has known nothing but socialism and relies on the good wishes of others for his institution’s survival.

As Christians are slaughtered mercilessly in the Middle East and elsewhere, all of the Pope’s wishes, prayers, and teachings are not going to keep the flock safe. However, one man with a gun can defeat evil in a split second; and even if he dies trying, he is in a far better moral position than a man who wants to deny our God-given rights to self-protection for ourselves and our families.

  5. The only reason Obama has been embracing this pope is because many of their philosophies are alike. This current pope only knows the kind of socialism that hasn’t worked for much of Central America. Argentina is called a presidential constitutional republic, but it’s never quite known what it was — except perhaps an unspoken dictatorship under Person.

So that’s where Francis gets his fundamental background. Argentina has a constitution but it’s not ours, nor does it have our Bill of Rights. I am NOT seceding my Bill of Rights to Socialism or a religion or a pope or another country or the UN. Not happening. So Francis can just stay in his lane. I’m sure he’s a nice man and all but he’s not a US citizen. Besides, the local archdiocese — I’m sure I told you this before — sent a priest away and would tell no one when I opened a child abuse case on him in the 90s, when I worked in the Child Abuse Bureau.

  6. So I’m not a great big fan of the Catholic church.

  7. Well, I grew up in a Southern Baptist Church but later on, my new step family were Catholics. I still never have attended a Catholic Church, although I would like to one day, as I have visited many other denominations, to gain knowledge and see what they were about. That said, I’m staying with the SBC – that’s were my beliefs are. No disrespect meant to Catholics, but Protestants don’t believe that a priest can absolve our sins – we believe that this is a personal journey/fellowship between us and Jesus Christ. Nor so we believe in any one person being over everyone else. That’s not to say that the SBC is perfect – it has it’s flaws and comes up short in many departments – mainly because preachers have gotten away from the scriptures in favor of political correctness. I stayed away from the Church for many years because of this…until one day, it dawned on me that it wasn’t the Church at fault – it was me, because it is my responsibility to read and study the scripture, know what it says for myself.

This Pope is unlike any other – he is obviously a socialist. He has upset a lot of people, including Catholics over his comments on Islam and Christianity, immigration, and Jesus as a failure at the end of his life…

    I really don’t know what to say…

But one things for sure – I won’t be listening to him or any protestant preacher either, that thinks this way. It’s very offensive – and not for me.

Pay special attention to Matthew 24 – and do not be deceived.

  8. BobF says:

Too bad the pope doesn’t have much knowledge of the bible and biblical times. If he did, he would know that the most deadly weapon a man could carry, especially for close quarter combat, was a sword. The sword remained the most deadly a man could carry up until the invention of the pistol. Even today, the sword remains a deadly weapon and it’s smaller brother, the knife, is carried by Soldiers and Marines in combat.

The above being said, I’ll do something the pope doesn’t do and that’s quote the bible.

John 18:10 Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear.

When the apostles accompanied Jesus to the garden to pray, they were armed with swords, the most deadly weapon a man could carry.

One of Jesus last commands to his apostles was for them to buy a sword. It was important enough to where he told them to sell their garment in necessary to purchase one.

Luke 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

If you watched the pope at all on TV, you’ll see he was guarded by hundreds of men all armed with guns. He doesn’t have to worry as he has highly trained and heavily armed bodyguards with him at all times in public. Apparently when it comes to you and me, he could care less about our safety.

  9. Yes, Bob F. The Swiss Guard. Let the Swiss Guard all go away and see what the pope thinks of his security. And thusly his ability to go amongst his flock before they actually kill him.

Whilst we’re at it, let’s take down that really, really tall and thick wall, yes WALL, around the Vatican.

In the name of egality and equality, of course.

And fairness. Let’s not forget fairness. It is NOT fair that one man has this huge wall around his house, and those very expensive vestments. Let’s not stop there.

The Catholic church is a business. It is in the business of expansion. All the time. Therefore it needs to readjust its client base. When its potential client list liberalizes, so it must as well.

Of course, then it becomes something different from the Catholic church.

Another analogy: as the Demorats and Leftists believe, Republicans need to put more people “under the tent” and change their philosophy.

The GOP needs to simply become the Demorats. All in interest of expanding their client base, you see, just like a good business.

BZ, I was brought up in the RC religion, went to catholic school and by the time I was in high school, had adopted an attitude that I couldn’t be a good catholic. I, like many of my peers, found conflict with the catechism of grades one thru eight and the “theology” taught in HS. I go to mass once in awhile and try as I might, can’t get into the church as it is. The pope is supposed to be infallible in matters of faith so why the F..K is he messing with our political system. islam is preached to conquer the world and make islam the only religion on earth. The RC church wants to do the same. One preaches peace and the other violence. Guess which is which. I personally believe the current pope is the false prophet spoken of in The Bible.

  10. cary says:

When and if the Pope cedes the Vatican to be a US territory, and when and IF the Pope is given full control of the US, then he MIGHT have some say in how We, the People, are governed.

Until then, he can bugger off.

And any politician that thinks the Second Amendment is outdated and needs to be revised or removed can also bugger off. The Second is what is keeping the rest of them intact, and the socialist-In-Chief hates that, as do his cronies from all over the world.

  11. dekare says:

History is replete with the head of religion and the head of state being a combined force. And it NEVER was a good thing…Ever! Once you politicize religion, it becomes corrupted. We expect our politicians to become corrupt, and we deal with them at the ballot box, and term limits. But we do not deal with a pope or head of religion the same way.

Religion is a believe and one of the greatest things a person can embrace. It must remain pure and be counted on to always have the best interest of the flock, and remain faithful to the teachings of that religion.

Our Founding Fathers knew all too well that when religion gains political influence, there is never anything good from that. That is exactly they chose to keep govt and religion separate. But here today, we have obama and the pope joining forces in an effort to control the masses. NOT GOOD.

Our history should tell us this is bad…and it is.

  12. I doubt that priests will never give up molesting young altar boys.

    • TexasFred says:

Nuns too, you can’t forget the nuns, although they seemed to prefer 15, 16 and 17 year old Servers… Ya had to be *packing the goods* so to speak…. :)

      • dekare says:

        My email is NOT spammy…

Altering boys is what happens when you deny the body what it craves. I have a difficult time understanding why they believe that sex is bad, but that god made the body desire to have sex so much, that men could go insane if denied it. It is probably the strongest of desires, shadowed only by hunger….maybe. To set the rules that sex is evil or forbidden or dirty or evil…or that even touching yourself will have you burning in flames for all of eternity is maddening.

So priests find themselves in a situation where they are forbidden sex, but have lots of young boys all around you all the time…even sharing the same sleeping quarters….well, you know where it can go from there.

I say the jews may have this one right for sure. The rabbi’s are allowed to have s3x, marry and father children.

But a lifetime of denial of the one thing the body was designed to do…pro-create…that is a tinder box waiting to burn

  13. Capt Ron says:

The current Pope is a Jesuit, and they have socialist ideas about ho to do things. That would explain, in part, his bent on gun ownership, and why he and Potus have some of the same lines of thinking. I’m glad I’m not Catholic.

    • TexasFred says:

Glad you’re not too…. You live near a guy with a gun and I wouldn’t want you to be considered un-Christian by association….
