Bernie Sanders calls for assault weapons ban

BOULDER, Colo. — Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on Saturday called for an assault weapons ban in his second straight day of talking about an issue — guns — where he has sometimes deviated from the Democratic Party’s consensus.

In a campaign appearance ahead of next week’s Democratic presidential debate, Sanders cited two shootings Friday at universities in Arizona and Texas as well as last week’s slayings at an Oregon community college.

“Instead of people yelling at each other, we have got to come together on commonsense approaches which, in fact, the vast majority of the American people support,” said Sanders, who represents a rural state with few gun laws. He added that there is “widespread support to ban semi-automatic assault weapons, guns which have no other purpose but to kill people.” SOURCE

This is NO shock to me, I really didn’t need another reason, but DAMN, this is the best one yet for me to NEVER consider Bernie Sanders. The picture is self explanatory I believe.

I guess Ol’ Bernie Sanders never got the message, an *assault weapon* is defined as a magazine-fed automatic rifle designed for infantry use.

In the hands of the infantry it *may* BE an assault weapon, in MY hands it is nothing more than a means to an end, a rifle with a selector switch that enables me to fire ONE round at a time, giving me a way to provide food and protection for my family should such become necessary.

The moonbat Left and Socialists slugs like Sanders call every *evil looking black rifle* an *assault* weapon, and I personally doubt that any of them know the difference between a REAL military rifle and a civilian rifle. The anti-gun, ban ALL guns platform may sound good to people like Sanders but it is NOT going to play well with the majority of voting Americans.
