Tillman, Lynch accounts slammed
WASHINGTON — The Pentagon lied to create heroes from Iraq and Afghanistan, former Army private Jessica Lynch and the brother of former NFL star and Army Ranger Pat Tillman told a House committee Tuesday.
Kevin Tillman, who served in a Ranger unit with his brother, and Lynch testified as part of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s investigation into inaccurate accounts of the battlefield actions of Lynch and Tillman.
Army Spc. Bryan O’Neal, who had been in a nearby convoy when Tillman was killed by “friendly fire,” testified that he was ordered not to tell Kevin Tillman how his brother died on April 22, 2004.
Lynch was badly wounded in Iraq in 2003; Pat Tillman, a corporal, was killed in Afghanistan.
Early versions of Lynch’s capture and rescue, quoting unnamed U.S. officials, said Iraqi soldiers shot and stabbed Lynch, who fought back until she shot off her last round of ammunition and was captured. That made her seem like “little girl Rambo,” Lynch said Tuesday.
In truth, she said, she was hurt too badly to fight. The narrative that described Tillman’s actions, for which he was awarded the Silver Star, “was utter fiction,” Kevin Tillman said.

Tillman, Lynch accounts slammed
The DoD has lied, made excuse and perpetrated cover-ups, and this comes as a surprise to, uh, who exactly? The ‘Bush Bot’ wives that tout the ‘Little Prince’ as the greatest military strategist of our time? Likely, because people like that are the only ones blind enough to fall for all the bullshit that rolls off of Capitol Hill…
If I didn’t know better, I’d swear that every morning the DoD does a building wide P.A. broadcast similar to a High School pep rally call to the gym where they play songs like ‘Eye of the Tiger’ and ‘Holding out for a Hero’ over and over until everyone is in a properly hypnotic state of mind…
I need a hero
I’m holding out for at hero ’till the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fightI need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ’till the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life
Larger than life
Ya never know, maybe it’s a tin-foil hat, subliminal type thing, played at ultra high frequencies and only certain GS levels can hear it… Just sayin’…
Don’t our leaders realize that the truth WILL come out?? Someone always knows the truth, it’s just a case of WHO can be silenced and who can’t…

I was disgusted when Lynch received the medal of honor, knowing full well that she had done none of the things she was supposedly heroic for. It pretty much sullies the prior and future recipients of the medal.
Nothing against her, but she did accept it…but then again…how does one refuse one when this is the scenario….however, she did accept it….hmmm, but she did accept it

Yeah, but at the time, it would have been really hard to tell the DoD and the POTUS and the Congress to pound sand…
Some of this reminds me so much of that goofy movie a while back, Wag the Dog…
Surreal…
