Trump hammers away at Obama’s citizenship question
WASHINGTON (AP) - Real estate tycoon Donald Trump said Thursday he isn’t convinced that President Barack Obama was born in the United States, but says he hopes the president can prove that he was.
Officials in Hawaii have certified Obama’s citizenship, but “birthers” have demanded additional proof. And Trump, who is weighing whether to seek the Republican presidential nomination, says not all the questions have been answered.
In an interview broadcast Thursday, Trump told NBC News he plans to decide by June whether to run, and said that if he is the GOP nominee, “I’d like to beat him straight up,” not on the basis of the question of where Obama was born.
Trump insisted he didn’t introduce the citizenship issue, but he isn’t letting go of it either. Since he was asked about it during an interview several weeks ago, the real estate executive said, he’s looked into it and now believes “there is a big possibility” Obama may have violated the Constitution.
“I’d like to have him show his birth certificate,” Trump said. “And to be honest with you, I hope he can.”

I want to help Donald Trump. I too have serious doubts concerning the legitimacy of one Barack Hussein Obama to hold the office of President of the United States of America.
I realize that the LEFT will call me a racist, redneck, knuckle dragging birther, and I’m OK with that, but you know, I want to see the REAL, unadulterated, certificate of LIVE BIRTH for Barack Hussein Obama. The LONG Form! 😛
How hard can it be? If you are BORN in the USA, you have an American birth certificate, a certified birth certificate from the state in which you were born, right? I know I do, an old photostat of my original Louisiana birth certificate and a newer long form, certified by the State, stamped, with all the *tells* that it’s the real deal
So, why doesn’t Obama just produce his REAL, and certified birth certificate and shut us ALL up?
Asked in the interview how genuine his presidential ambition is, Trump said, “I always take things seriously, but I’ve never taken it seriously like this. I wish I didn’t have to do it.”
“I wish this was the greatest place in the world,” Trump said. But he said the United States is losing respect in the world at a time when jobs at home are vanishing. He accused Obama of giving the country “a terrible presidency.”
I’ll bet you any amount of money you care to lose, Donald Trump, and any other candidate that may seek office in the future, has, or will have, their birth certificate, and will produce it as a matter of public record.
Obama won’t, or can’t, probably because that is the ONE issue that he KNOWS will cost him the Presidency immediately. If he can BS the American public, lie, deflect the truth, hide from the obvious, he can continue to be the worst, and most destructive President in American history.
Trump said that if the current fight over budget issues forces a shutdown, “I think the president will be blamed.”
And rightly so.
America is under attack from the far left and Barack Hussein Obama. Obama has an agenda, it’s an agenda that involves the bankruptcy and destruction of America. Trump has his number, Conservative bloggers have his number, why then won’t GOP elected officials and the press, the Mainstream Media, go out on a limb with this?
The politicians are afraid, they ALL have a closet FULL of skeletons and the press is, basically a bunch of gutless libbers themselves. That’s why.
He accused Obama of conducting a confusing policy on the civil war in Libya, saying “nobody knows what’s happening, and now it looks like (Libyan strongman Moammar) Gadhafi is going to beat the United States.”
“I’m only interested in Libya if we get the oil,” Trump said. He said Obama “doesn’t have a doctrine (on foreign affairs.) Foreign affairs is, we take care of ourselves first”
One of my local political buddies called me a couple of weeks ago and told me, “Man, you need take a close look at Donald Trump, this guy is saying some good things.”
I have to say, my political buddy was right, Trump IS saying some good things, and at this point in time, that’s a good thing, he just needs to say the RIGHT things, mean what he says and stick to his words, statements and beliefs.
There are a few on the GOP side that are making noise, posturing, and hinting that they may run. NONE of them have the strength to beat Barack Hussein Obama. The GOP folks that DO have that strength have all said that they are not going to run in 2012. So, what does that leave on the table? Palin, Gingrich, Ron Paul, Romney and the like, that’s what the GOP wants to throw up against Obama.
Of Obama, he said, “I want him to do well. … I love this country, but this country is going to hell. … The world laughs at us. They won’t be laughing if I’m elected president.”
And if the GOP/RNC, and the American voters are stupid enough to accept weak, and easily defeated candidates like a Palin, Gingrich, Ron Paul, Romney and the like, we’ll be laughed at even harder.
WHY has this video not gone VIRAL? WHY does the MSM ignore the issue?
I’ll tell you WHY:
Trump has already been asked about his birth certificate and has produced it. This man is a billionaire and has the resources to investigate anything he desires. If someone with his resources are questioning Obama’s legitimacy, you have to he’s on to something.
I like his response about Afghanistan.
Well, nothing’s simple. Because I don’t believe in foot soldiers. They get blown up on streets. But I do believe in airplanes that are 50,000 feet up. And when we see through intelligence what’s going on, knock the hell out. Oh, by the way, I’m much more militaristic than Obama. He got the Nobel Peace Prize, but, you know, I think they’re probably rethinking that one, every time he seizes a country. The problem is he seizes countries, but he doesn’t win….I’m not gonna have soldiers walking down on the street and get blown up and get shot at by snipers and killed, so we have to call the parents and say, “Your son was just killed on a street in Afghanistan.” But those people will have a lot more problems with me than they’re having right now. But I do it through the air and we’re not gonna have casualties.
Trump looks like he might be the answer to running a good GOP bid for the White House.
I too think Obama needs to show his Birth Certificate. How hard can that be? I know…I’ve heard some say that not everyone can show their long form….because it was lost or misplaced. I say BS….the state has that info and can issue a certified copy with all the info. Shoot…I even have my ORIGINAL birth certificate from the state and even the fancy one issued by the hospital with my foot prints on it. Hell…I guess that makes me more qualified to hold the office of POTUS than it does for Barack Hussein Obama. I know I couldn’t do as bad of a job as he is doing right now.
Let’s hope Trump throws his hat into the ring and comes up with a strong running mate that can take over after his 8 yrs as POTUS
I think Trump would be the man to bring America back to the Constitution and prosperity. I like the fact he has the fortitude of the spine to come forward and start hammering away too! You are so right Fred, those in Congress who should be moving forward with the pressure are afraid. Great post!
I don’t think that Trump is going to run for president; I think that he is doing this for publicity and to draw viewers to his television show. Having said that, I LOVE what he is doing. He is asking questions that need to be asked and they are questions that no politician is ever going to ask, so in that regard he is helping the Republican party by sowing the seeds of doubt in the American people. He is providing cover for the Republicans while addressing issues that need to be addressed. Now we only need to find a real conservative candidate.
The answer is very simple. He can’t show us a USA birth Certificate that is legal,,,BECAUSE HE DOESN’T HAVE one for the USA.
If he had one, he would of used it when traveling around the world in 1981. He used his INDONESIAN passport the same as he was a student at Occidental College on the Fullbright Scholarship for foreign nationals ONLY!!

I don’t know if Obama is or isn’t, and I doubt that anyone will ever prove otherwise until it’s too late…
Regarding Trump, I don’t know his motives, maybe he’s sincere, maybe he’s *hawking* his show, I know I don’t particularly trust him, but, he IS saying some good things…

This birth certificate matter seems so simple to me. Obama should be forced to produced it and thereby prove the matter one way or the other.
The very fact that he’s spent so much money to avoid producing the genuine article is suspicious. What is on that certificate?
