White House Opposes War Authority Limits
WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House said Friday it would oppose any attempt by Senate Democrats to revoke the 2002 congressional resolution authorizing the war in Iraq and to restrict U.S. troops to a limited mission as they prepared to withdraw.
The Bush administration argued that changes in the resolution were unnecessary even though it was drafted in the days when Saddam Hussein was in power and there was an assumption - later proved false - that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction. The White House said Democrats were in a state of confusion about Iraq.
“There’s a lot of … shifting sands in the Democrats’ position right now,” deputy press secretary Tony Fratto said. “It’s hard to say exactly what their position is.”

White House Opposes War Authority Limits
Of course the Dems are going to try and pass any anti war resolution they can, and of course Bush and Company are going to fight the Dems tooth and nail regarding the Iraq war…
Mr. Bush needs only to look in the mirror if he truly wants to know why, why the Dems are fighting him, why so many Conservatives and Republicans have turned away from him and the biggest why, why did the Dems take control of the House and Senate, the mirror will show him everything he needs to see and provide him with an honest answer, but that answer is one that he won’t believe, even when he looks himself in the eye…
“The American people have demanded a change of course in Iraq and Democrats are committed to holding President Bush accountable,” Manley said.
Yes, we have demanded a change of course, but here’s where I point out how both parties, Dem and Repub, are so out of touch with what Americans really want and what the troops really need…
1st, the Dems have NO answer, all they have is the normal Democratic vitriol and low level of intelligence with which they address every issue, the Dems have nothing to offer other than ‘GET OUT’, and in MY opinion, that is not an acceptable plan of action…
Yes, Americans are tired of Iraq, and yes, we DO feel that there must be changes in the way this fight is conducted but mostly we’re tired of the political correctness that has permeated the Bush administration, and we’re tired of the PCness that has dictated the way we fight a war, and we’re tired of the ‘Blind Bush Bots’ saying we’re not supporting the troops…
I support the troops in their efforts, the efforts they are ALLOWED to engage in, but the ‘Blind Bush Bots’ are the ones that DO NOT support the troop, because of their BLIND support of ‘The Little Prince’ and by allowing him to fight this war in HIS manner, we’re NOT giving our troops what they really need to attain a victory in Iraq, and that’s sheer numbers, a sufficient number of ‘boots on the ground’ and a set of ‘Rules of Engagement’ that will allow them to DO what must be done, we must give them the force and authority that is absolutely necessary to WIN this thing in a decisive manner…
There are ‘other’ ways to win the fight in Iraq but they are unacceptable in this theater of battle, the fighting takes place in quarters that are too tight for massive artillery barrages, carpet bombings or tactical nuclear use, and all the PC people go nuts over collateral damage, but Baghdad is a ground battle much like those faced by our troops in WWII when they had to fight building to building and house to house to route the German troops, and those battles were conducted with massive numbers of troops from the Allied side of things, that is not happening in Baghdad, not the overwhelming troop strength it needs to have to make it happen…
And again I point out, the entire nation of Iraq is approximately the same size as the state of Texas, Baghdad itself is the main issue, and yet our American military, the most powerful, high-tech military on earth, hasn’t been able to pacify this one city and give the Iraqi people the peace that our troops have valiantly fought and died for?? Why is that Mr. Bush??
Numbers Mr. Bush, that’s why, it’s all about the numbers, for the American people and the troops in Iraq it’s all about the numbers necessary to DO THE JOB and get it over with, to you Mr. Bush, it’s all about the number of ‘other’ nations you feel that you need to please in your effort to take the U.S.A. into a ‘1 World Government’…
Look in the mirror Mr. Bush, therein lies the truth regarding Iraq, and the chance for success in Iraq is in your hands…

Bush has no one to blame but himself and those he allowed to handle the politics and direction of the war. I don’t know the order of execution but I could think of 3 more that should swing from the gallows for this cluster fox-trot of a highly mismanaged war…
I remember a comment from a particular Bush-Bot on another blog stating something to the effect of Monday morning quarterbacking…
I failed to clue her in that if she had read previous posts she’d realized that we were more less conducting our own ’sand tables’ in the form of comments here on this blog on what Bush should be doing before it came to this BS. And before the Republicans lost this past November.
Every damn thing has just about played out the way many of us said it would if Bush didn’t wise up.
What a ‘rock’….

Damn it Fred, What are trying to say? I just can’t make it out, You appear to be making your readers read between the lines. I suggest you quit holding back and say what you feel…. LOL
We said a while a go that this surge was WAY to little to do much good, but hey give it a shot Mr Bush what do you have to lose? You already lost the House the Senate the Border and the VAST Majority of support you ONCE had.
Bush has time to correct these mistakes but the Prince of Idiocy will not see the way.

Guess I will have to piss in somebody’s Cheerios again, oh well. Comes with the territory I suppose.
Stop the God damned sniveling. Period. Fred’s son has done a full tour there. My son has three full tours in Afghanistan and two short hitches in Iraq. We have a dog in the fight so to speak…
Our sons and daughters are there for us. They do more than just fight and die. They show the world that they are Americans, and will defend liberty and freedom whenever they are allowed to do so by the leaders of our nation. May God grant wisdom to the leaders, and victory to the Warriors…
I am too angry to finish this post…

While I have had things I have supported and agreed with the president on (still do), the way that president Bush has tried to play politically correct in Iraq for the past few years has run a close second to the (non)handling of our very leaky borders and illegal immigration in keeping me very upset with him. Honestly, if he ran again there’s no way he would win a third time.
