McCain Faces the NRA

John McCain has had a rocky relationship with the National Rifle Association over the years, with his support for closing the gun show loophole at the top of the organization’s list of grievances and his shepherding of campaign finance reform a close second.

On Friday McCain addresses the NRA’s annual convention in Louisville. Perhaps the NRA is ready to kiss and make up in order to rally around the Republican nominee?

McCain Faces the NRA

A couple of weeks ago Sen. Barack Obama claimed that many Midwestern voters cling to guns and religion to placate themselves for their loss of jobs and economic prosperity. SOURCE

Anyone can understand the NRA not wanting Obama there after the bum made such ridiculous statements but the didn’t invite Hillary?? She’s into guns too ya know, she said so.

“You know, some people now continue to teach their children and their grandchildren. It’s part of culture. It’s part of a way of life. People enjoy hunting and shooting because it’s an important part of who they are. Not because they are bitter. As I told you, my dad taught me how to shoot behind our cottage. I have gone hunting. I am not a hunter. But I have gone hunting.” SOURCE

Yeah, well, I’m not a pilot but I’ve been up in a lot of airplanes, and I stayed at a few Holiday Inn’s in my day too, does that instill a sense of confidence in you??

If there is anyone out there that truly believes Hillary and her impassioned pandering to the gun owners of America, well, I have some bridge properties you may be interested in owning.

Now, on to Sen. John McCain and guns, McCain, the apparent darling of the once great Republican party, and the leader of a bunch of ankle biting little lapdogs that I like to affectionately call McCainiacs.

Sen. McCain is basically a pandering politico and will say and/or do anything it takes to get elected to the presidency, including, but not limited to pandering to gun owners in an attempt to gain their support and the support of the Conservative voting base, a base that he all but turned his back on in 2000 and 2004.

John McCain tried running for president in 2000 as an anti-gunner. This year it appears he is seeking to ‘come home’ to the pro-gun community, but the wounds are deep and memories long. John McCain - GOA 2008

As if there wasn’t already plenty of evidence that Senator John McCain is the wrong choice for pro-gun Republicans in the Presidential primary, the Columbus Dispatch has added one more item to the list: Buckeye Firearms Association

John McCain Is A Liberal Gun Grabber

I could go on and on but you get the idea, McCain is sucking up to the NRA and will turn his back on the gun owners of America as soon as he’s sworn in and any way this thing goes, gun owners will become the target.

McCain may be a bit better president than Hillary and Hillary would be infinitely better than Obama but let’s face the facts, if these 3 are the best that the parties have to offer and if we are so complacent that we’re willing to accept these candidates, then come November we’re going to get exactly what we deserve.

I just hope the NRA has a long memory too and doesn’t fall for this BS from Sen. John McCain, RINO.

Later tonight I am looking forward to a blog post at An Ol’ Broads Ramblings, she and her hubby are there right now, at the convention, and she has promised to write a coverage post, I hope she can bring out some information that will change my mind in regards to McCain, and maybe change the minds of a lot of other Conservatives as well.

Like it or not McCain is the Republican Nominee. And he is the better choice on Guns than Barack Hussein Obama. Obama would get rid of all our guns. McCain won’t. A big difference.

I don’t cling to my Guns and Religion except when you try to take either one from me. Obama doesn’t understand that nor will he ever.

I’m waiting on the Supreme Court decision on Gun Ownership and praying that they come down on the side of the angels and not on the side of Obama and his crowd.

Well, to put it in Karl Rove’s term, I am a very happy “Clinger”! :)

I wish I could report it was an impressive speech. I wish I could say that I’m 100% convinced that McCain was the right choice for the nominee. I wish I could. sigh…. However, as Katie said, he’s what we’ve got, and a damn sight better than the alternative.

Shoot, if given a real choice, I’d say Bolton would be a good prez, cuz he wouldn’t take crap from anyone! :)

Findalis: Obama would get rid of all our guns. McCain won’t. A big difference.

I wouldn’t take ANY bets on McCain, the son of a bitch is pandering, he’s a libber gun grabber as sure and ANY of em… Wait and see..

If you want to know what America will look like with John McCain as POTUS, just remember what the flight deck looked like on fire from some of his mistakes on Carriers.

Any person who has written and submitted legislation that was out right Treason, more than once, is not a friend of America and is surely not the right person to lead this country.

McCain is sucking up to gun owners and the religious right just like all politicians suck up and lie through their teeth every two years, four years, and some only have to do it every six.

This country is being fast tracked towards Tyranny.

Top Gun, I could NOT have said it any better myself…

  6. Winghunter says:

There was ONE candidate that didn’t suck up, to anyone. There was one that walked the talk his entire life…obviously, we’re incapable of our own governance or Fred Thompson would be our nominee right now.

Splitting the vote of our base will hand us the same results the Canucks are going through right now…they’ll be under socialist rule for some time to come. Are we so stupid to follow them??

Fred had said that if we elected him he would on occasion come to us to make the real changes needed in federal government by shaking the foundation of the capitol. We already know this works when we crashed the senate phone system over the Shamnesty bill.
Perhaps, just this once, we can learn our lesson and take Fred’s instruction.

We put ourselves in this mess just like all the others we’re in by relying on elitist clowns so, we must elect the piece of shit for four years where in two years, if we’re very lucky, we find another Fred Thompson instead of clowns who don’t have any clue except for their own ambition.

That’s where we are and how we can get out of it. If someone else sees any other way speak up now or fall in step.

McCain might not get rid of ALL our guns but which ones will he get rid of?

The 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting and sport shooting. When the excrement hits the overhead air recirculating device, you’re going to wish you had more than a single shot shotgun with bird shot.

McCain didn’t get his low ratings from the NRA and Gun Owners of America by protecting our rights.
