Romney names Paul Ryan his No. 2

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney introduced Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin as his vice presidential running mate on Saturday, turning to the architect of a deeply conservative and intensely controversial long-term budget plan to remake Medicare and cut trillions in federal spending.

In the campaign to come, Republicans will present economic solutions “that are bold, specific and achievable,” Romney said as he presented his political partner. “We offer our commitment to create 12 million new jobs and bring better take home pay to middle class families.”

The two men basked in the cheers of supporters in their made-for-television debut on a ticket hoping to make President Barack Obama’s first term his last. “I did not make a mistake with this guy,” Romney exulted.

“I am deeply excited and honored to join you as your running mate,” Ryan said in his first words at the podium.” He said that together, Republicans would eliminate the country’s “debt, doubt and despair.”

Romney names Paul Ryan his No. 2

Well, I guess this Paul Ryan pick will really piss off the air heads and MORONS that kept going on and on about a brokered convention and having Newt and Saint Sarah of Palin ride in on white horses and save the day!

I was never a big Romney fan, but he is what he is, he’s all we’ve got, and while I am 100% certain that he is infinitely better qualified than Barack Hussein Obama and will turn the direction that this nation is headed around, I wasn’t going to become too terribly enthusiastic until I saw who he picked to be his VPOTUS candidate. Now I am getting some enthusiasm!

Let’s face the cold hard truth; the GOP screwed up in 2008 when they managed to get John McCain nominated to become POTUS and McCain screwed up even worse than the GOP itself; he picked Sarah Palin to be his running mate.

McCain was a weak candidate at best, he was running against a *rock star* personality, or so some thought, and Palin was an act of desperation, a *glam piece* run in to try and offset the mundane and sometimes repulsive John McCain.

The *fluff and gruff* MAVERICK ticket failed miserably.

Paul Ryan is not fluff! Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are highly capable administrators that know this; money doesn’t grow on trees and it damned sure doesn’t come from a printing press in the bowels of Treasury, not REAL money!

This election cycle just got a lot more interesting; Romney didn’t go for *glam and fluff*,
he chose a a highly competent and capable running mate that brings more to the table on his own than the entire administration of Obama and his minions.

Maybe this time we’re NOT getting the lesser of the evils if we vote for a Romney-Ryan ticket. The more I watch Romney, the more I see and hear, the more I truly respect the man and what he stands for.

There is one indisputable FACT that ALL Conservatives and GOP voters have got to accept, Barack Hussein Obama has got to go in November!

Forget Third Party votes, don’t DARE make the comment that you’re going to *sit this one out*, you are beneath contempt if you say so or do so!

The very fabric of this nation is in shreds, Romney and Ryan won’t be able to fully repair that fabric in one term, the damage that has been done will take quite a while to get over, but this is America, we are strong, we are fighters, we love our nation and we have survived the likes of Jimmy Carter; we will survive the cancer that IS Obama!

For God and Country, and all future generations, let’s take America back!

You do hate you some Palin… LOL While I don’t have that much hate for her, I do get your point. The same token, McRino saved himself from a SUPER DISASTER election defeat by picking her. There were few else who could have gave the GOP a bump like she did. And there was NO WAY Obama was going to lose, GWB/Pelosi/REID/MEDIA all made it impossible.

Now we gave Obama 4 years to fulfill all those “Hope and change” promises and he’s made this country into a 3rd world laughing stock. We’ve got more corruption in our leaders than ever before. Romney/Ryan? I’m all in.

Lets get that economic terrorist out of the WH. And with him, Holder, Nappy, Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, DWS, And every dumbass RINO in congress.

One person who could use some help in getting a liberal out of California is Elizabeth Emken. She is up against Diane Feinstein, one half of the “Thelma And Louise” dual of the United States Senators from California.

I have to wait 4 more years to see the other half of “Thelma and Louise” (Senator Blimpie Boxer) get her carcass kicked out. To see Feinstein and Piglosi’s trough dumped from DC will be a celebration!

  2. Bluto says:

After nearly 4 years of smelly & stinky B.O., I think the whole country is ready for a little R. & R.

    Romney & Ryan please.

  3. Texasperated says:

I could mot agree more Fred. I did not thiink Romney would pick him but. Glad he did. Romney / Kemp er…I mean Ryan (Jack Ryan’s smarter tougher brother?).

  4. Lee says:

Paul Ryan,,, hell yes,,, it is time, past time the Republician grow some balls and start kicking ass. Time to get in the ditch and get bloody and muddy,,,and through those damn sorryass libs out.

  5. Right Handed Cowboy says:

Paul Ryan absolutely the best pick, take off the Gloves, call Obama out and call his bluff on Columbia School records if BO continues with His demand on Romney’s income tax. Obama will disappear into the bowel’s of HELL, which is exactly where he belongs.

Maybe, just maybe the WORM has turned…let’s pray that it has.

America is ours and “We we will rip her back from the arms of the DEVIL HIMSELF”.

    God Bless “AMERICA”.

  6. BobF says:

Time to open up the purse strings and send in some money. The one thing I hate about doing that though is once you get on their mailing lists, they never…never…never…leave you alone.

  7. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

Ryan has the intelligence and the budgetary competence to greatly augment the campaign. AND he’s not from the staid, old backslapping GOP that wants nothing more to “just get along.”

Because, after all, look at what “just get along” has done for us as a country.

  8. Patrick Sperry says:

I still will be voting against the obamination, not for Romney. Sorry folks, but his record of licking his finger and going whatever direction the wind blows when it comes to things that are important to me just make it that way.

That said, I will be voting, and happily so, for a single heartbeat away what could very well be the best President since Ronaldo Magnus!

Still, that pointy eared Vulcan wannabe will be tough to get past come November. There are simply too many Americans, both dead and alive, that will cast votes for him due to perennially being stuck on stupid!

  9. Always On Watch says:

I think that Ryan is a wise choice for the VP candidacy for lots of reasons.

Yeah, the GOP ticket is all we’ve got to get the Obamanation OUT!

  10. Cary says:

The biggest selling point, IMHO, is the fact they both know what a budget looks and feels like - unlike a certain unnamed majority in the house and senate for the last several years …

  11. TexasFred says:

Anyone, and I do NOT care who gets offended by my saying so, ANYONE that says they are going to *sit it out* and not vote is a sorry piece of GARBAGE and no better than the libbers they claim to stand against! Sit it out and you’re as big a part of the problem as is Barack Hussein Obama and his evil cabal of crooks, cheats, raghead lovers, pedophiles, anarchists and faggots!

And yes, this is directed at certain people, they KNOW who they are…

    • BobF says:

Amen Fred! Not voting is a vote for Obama because you know the Democrats will resurrect the dead for this election.

    • GM Roper says:

One more point Fred: Sitting this one out or voting third party because Romney is the “lesser of two evils” means that they are in fact, as well as in theory because ONLY Romney or Obama will win, that they are selecting the GREATER OF TWO EVILS. Let the garbage put that in their pipe and smoke it.

  12. Steve Dennis says:

The more I think about this pick the more I love it. Like you I am not enthusiastic about Mitt, and I was afraid he was going to play it safe. But by picking someone he knew the left did not like he showed some courage and he made a competent pick. This pick has me excited in a way I wasn’t before.

  13. LD Jackson says:

I think you nailed it perfectly, Fred. Paul Ryan may not be as much of a small government Republican as I would like, but he recognizes the problems we are facing and is willing to work on the solution. He has guts and they showed when he had the nerve to actually put a budget into writing that tackled the problems our entitlements are facing.

Some people may think Ryan doesn’t bring much to the ticket in the way of constituency, etc. To those people, I refer them to a comment made by Jim, from Conservatives on Fire, at America’s Watchtower. Here is a portion of that comment that says it all.

Romney might have picked someone who would have been more helpful in the campaign to get himself elected; but he picked someone who will be a great asset if he is elected.

    Fred,

I can’t wait to see that scoundrel see the moving van, so he can go home to the 57th State in America. And Joey the Talking Chicken Biden can get a Delaware Punch from his local 7 Eleven himself instead of having one of his clowns buy it during Barry’s burger runs.
