Demanding Benghazi documents, McCain, Graham will delay Brennan nomination

(CBS News) Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. will not move forward President Obama’s nominee to head the CIA until they receive additional documents detailing the White House’s handling of the Sept. 11 attack on a U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the pair said today on “Face the Nation.”

“John and I are hell-bent on making sure the American people understand this debacle called Benghazi,” Graham said, vowing to “stop” John Brennan’s confirmation until further information is released about the attack that left four Americans dead. A Tuesday vote is currently scheduled in the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Graham’s vocal censure of the administration’s response to Benghazi led to U.S. Secretary to the United Nations Susan Rice removing her name from the Secretary of State short list. In the days following the attack, Rice appeared on “Face the Nation” bearing administration talking points that argued it was “spontaneous” demonstration over an anti-Muslim video - a characterization the White House reversed upon announcing the strike was carried out by extremists with possible linkages to al Qaeda.

“Her story has completely collapsed under scrutiny,” Graham said. “I said this to the president: I want FBI interviews of the survivors. They were turned over to the intelligence committee and everything was blacked out. …The e-mail about who changed the talking points - there’s a big gap. I want to know who the survivors are so we can interview them. SOURCE

Guest 1I am, and have been, totally convinced that there was, and continues to be, a massive cover-up in the Benghazi affair. I can’t help but believe that Barack Obama, Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton have lied to the American people concerning everything that took place at Benghazi before, during and after the attack.

Personally, I don’t like Sen. John McCain and Sen. Lindsey Graham, I have long thought that BOTH are too wishy-washy and go the way the wind blows. If they are both sincere and are intent on getting the facts, the REAL story, I have to support them in that effort as long as what they are doing isn’t simply political grandstanding.

Americans want the TRUTH, we can handle the TRUTH, maybe it’s the administration of Barack Obama that can’t afford for the TRUTH to be brought out.

“I want to know who the survivors are so we can interview them.”

The most powerful line in the story, and I want to know WHO the survivors are and why we haven’t heard a word about them, or FROM them. What tale could they possibly tell that would be SO bad or SO dangerous that it can’t be brought out in the media? IF the American media will actually publish it that is.

“The transmissions from Benghazi to Washington, in real time, on the night of the attack,” he continued. “What were people asking for? What were they saying?”

What were they saying? What were they asking for?

I wasn’t there but I am going to go out on a limb and speculate that they were saying that the compound was under attack, was being heavily damaged and that they were asking for the nation that they serve to come riding in and save the day. They were pleading with Command to save their lives.

The United States failed miserably, or, more accurately, the administration of Barack Obama failed miserably and left these men to die at the hands of Islamic terrorists!

Using a Cabinet nomination as leverage is a classic “give-and-take,” a “time-honored tradition” among lawmakers, Graham said. “And I’m going to insist on that,” he continued. “I’m not going to vote on a new CIA director until I find out what the CIA did in Benghazi.”

I have my own ideas about what was going on in Benghazi but regardless of what the CIA was doing or NOT doing, the Obama administration bears full responsibility for the deaths of all 4 men at Benghazi.

The information I heard today was that General Ham as head of Africom received the same e-mails the White House received requesting help/support as the attack was taking place. General Ham immediately had a rapid response unit ready and communicated to the Pentagon that he had a unit ready.

General Ham then received the order to stand down. His response was to screw it, he was going to help anyhow. Within 30 seconds to a minute after making the move to respond, his second in command apprehended General Ham and told him that he was now relieved of his command. SOURCE

The above link to the Washington Times has a lot more to say, I would suggest that folks need to read it ALL.

I am not the only person that believes there has been a massive cover-up and that Obama bears ALL responsibility. I am also not the only one that believes Benghazi should be Obama’s Watergate!

I hope that both of my Texas Senators, Sen. John Cornyn and Sen. Ted Cruz will offer any support possible that will help Senators Graham and McCain get to the bottom of this and make it ALL public knowledge!

The EVIL that IS Barack Obama must be stopped, this may well be the opportunity to make it happen.

Remember everything about the Kennedy assassination was to be released at 50 years. If that’s the case here I’ll be 121 years and not holding my breathe then either. I depend on you to get the facts at such time. 🙂

I’m not convinced the events were PURPOSEFUL in and of themselves, but I DO believe there was damned near purposeful INDIFFERENCE which was coupled with arrogance and a disdain for clarity. Finally, YES, I DO believe that there was and CONTINUES TO BE a cover-up.

And some ignorant bozo is still sitting in lockup because of his stupid YouTube video.

    Fred,

As usual this is a great post. We as American Patriots must not ALLOW this story to die. This ADMINISTRATION MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE for their inaction’s in allowing these Americans to die what must have been a horrific death at the hands of savages. Obama if you recall left to Vegas for a fund raiser while these people were slaughtered. There was no retaliation and Egypt will not allow the USA direct contact with the suspect. Even after the Obama made a gift of 16 top of the line F16’s and 200 Abrams tanks.

We must demand and know the truth. As Americans we must not allow this story to merely fade away!!

The bozoiness goes on. I remember lots of events important in my life starting at about age 3. Momma worked with daddy in business even in ’45 and I had to have nanny. While strolling me one day I told nanny I had to grunt. I got slapped for using bad word. It was South, not so far from Shreveport really, so nanny was what you would expect.
So I remember the Kennedy assassination as well. I was in Microbiology class at UT in Memphis. Student instructor came in to tell Dr. Michaelson of the shooting in Dallas…ole Doc said…”Goddamn Southerners.” I was at local landfill on 9/11/01.
Wonder what ole Doc might have said then. Sorry 9/11/12 I was asleep like Obama.

Any chance we can get General Ham to honestly comment on what happened?

The cover-up is obvious and this is one event of which that the American people should be demanding the truth. Obama and Clinton are lying and the pursuit of the truth should not be dropped, ever.

Personally, I have no connection to the General, but I am pretty sure that he has been placed under a *gag order*, that would be MY thought anyway, otherwise, I think he would be speaking out, long and loud…

  6. Steve Dennis says:

I don’t like these two men either but if they are serious about this I will support them, I just have the feeling they will cave in the end because that seems to be what the Republicans always do.

  7. LD Jackson says:

I have to agree with what BZ said in his comment. The events may have been unintentional at the beginning, but it went downhill from there. The total disregard for the lives of our people astounds me. Clearly, Barack Obama had one thing on his mind and it wasn’t the fact that our people were in danger of losing their lives. His reelection campaign was paramount in his thinking and as soon as the events were known inside the administration, his campaign took over the spin. Hence, we had Susan Rice trotting out and repeating the talking points she was given.

It all boils down to a couple of things. Our people were killed and the Obama administration tried to cover up why and how it happened. Had this been a Republican administration, hell fire and brimstone would have rained down from the media. Instead, all we have is complicity in the coverup because they refuse to ask the questions that should be asked.

    • Hgpsurf says:

On target both BZ & LD Jackson. We have a very guilty president and he should be held accountable. The re-election for him trumped all else.

  8. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

I’d care to make one additional point:

What DOES fall into the PURPOSEFUL category is the denial, by the Administration, of extra security at that outlet and others. Obama had declared that al Qaeda was “on the run” and, following that statement, to seek funding for extra security (and making it obvious) would be the same as admitting Mr Obama lied.

Can’t have that. Resultingly, four people were killed and the coverup was ON.

  9. Katie says:

Like other Republicans, this one will cave in and will do nothing about Benghazi.

  10. LittleOleLady says:

How much does Obama have to have his dirty fingers in before someone gets serious about impeachment?

  11. Bunkerville says:

So Brennan created the talking points. You betcha. One dangerous hombre.
