First Amendment About To Be Shredded By Obama and Dems

Once again I am compelled to bring you the exceptional work of my friend and fellow blogger, J.D. Longstreet. You can read this piece on his site HERE if you require citation. So without further ado;

First Amendment About To Be Shredded By Obama and Dems
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
*******************

J_ D_ LongstreetActually, it has taken a bit longer than I had expected, but Obama and his “Marxocrats” are finally getting around to us, you know, conservative broadcasters, commentators, and bloggers.

Yep, they are finally going to make an all-out effort to shut us down — and up! We will officially be “Haters.” Then they’ll accuse us of hate crimes because we don’t follow the “party line” and slap our behinds in jail, or reeducation camps, much like the old Maoist reeducation camps of a few decades ago.

So far the MsM hasn’t made much of this because they are controlled from the Obama’s West Wing or directly from the Oval Office.

I wonder how “amazed” the Leftist press will be when Obama’s henchmen march into their press rooms and begin smashing computers and ripping out hard drives with incriminating evidence on them to send those poor Leftists — now “useless idiots” to Obama’s gulags for crimes against Obama — or the state.

It always happens that way. The Left just never accepts that THEY will be the very first one’s “detained” by the tyrants when round-up time comes. I’d laugh were it not for the tears.

So, what the heck am I talking about?

I am alluding specifically to: “The Hate Crime Reporting Act of 2014.”

Never heard of it, huh? It figures.

The bill comes from Democrats Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y. (So far no surprise.)

The Hate Crime Reporting Act of 2014 “would create an updated comprehensive report examining the role of the Internet and other telecommunications in encouraging hate crimes based on gender, race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation and create recommendations to address such crimes,” stated a news release from Markey’s office.”

The Bill “… calls for the Justice Department and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights to “analyze information on the use of telecommunications, including the Internet, broadcast television and radio, cable television, public access television, commercial mobile services, and other electronic media, to advocate and encourage violent acts and the commission of crimes of hate.”

The bill does not define which actions by broadcasters would be considered to have encouraged violence, seemingly leaving that open to interpretation.” - SOURCE

I find it astounding that a MsM newspaper, the Boston Herald, referred to the bill as: “frankly chilling.” In fact, the paper said they found it: “frankly chilling” that Markey is seeking to “empower an obscure federal agency to begin scouring the Internet, TV and radio for speech it finds threatening.

“Perhaps he could crack a briefing book on the crisis in Ukraine rather than looking for his own extra-constitutional methods of punishing speech he finds unacceptable,” added the Herald editorial.” - SOURCE

The fact that a Leftist news organization finds this bill chilling and frightening REALLY gets my attention.

As a commentator, I have been offering opinion pieces for many decades. There can be no doubt that from time to time any commentator worth his mike or keyboard will offend someone, and inspire others. It is the nature of what we do. We give voice to those who have something to say but for various reasons haven’t the wherewithal to make their feelings public and thence are shut out of the public debate. We are their voices. It has been said that we afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted.

But the plain fact is that we make those we oppose very uncomfortable drawing attention to their grand mistakes, their foibles, their machinations in the shadows - out of the public’s sight, and — inevitably — to their lies. We make their lives miserable. We are the burr under their saddles, the thorn in their flesh, and — all too often — we become the only conscience they have.

You bet — they want to shut us up. The Hate Crime Reporting Act of 2014 will go a very long way in muzzling critics of the Left whether behind a microphone, a keyboard, or in front of a camera.

Students of history will tell you this is nothing new. It dates back to the Spanish Inquisition and in more modern times, the Nazi regime of Hitler, the old Soviet Union, and Maoist China. … and now it is here … in America.

It is just more of the American Police State.

Any day now, I expect the announcement to go out to those in the executive branch of the US legislature that they should drop by the West Wing and be measured for their tailor-made brown shirts to be worn at all times for the duration of the Obama Regime.

I am very afraid, dear reader, that we have allowed America to become so corrupt that no tweaking will suffice to restore our old constitutional, representative republic. America has gone the way of all democracies — suicide.

One thing the left fails to realize that if the powers in charge change to the other hand, all of this could be turned on them. What’s really scarey is that their are elected legislatures in Washington that have so little disregard for the Bill of Rights. They’ve been going after the 2nd Amendment for a long time and now they’re going full bore after the 1st and 4th. What kind of people elect these reprobates to congress?

Thanks for sharing this. I already read it today and I really wish everyone in America would read it.

I too read Longstreet daily. I can’t imagine not being able to read blogs from Tex Fred to Longstreet. Couple of weeks ago couple of sites I visit disappeared. Turns out they on Bluehost that had some kind of problem But point is I thought…what’s going on? Of course I been reading long enough to see sites disappear for good, good ones too. Also been reading long enough to know I 2/3 age wise between Tex Fred and Longstreet. Don’t know what I’ll do when the sun don’t shine. Guess I’ll just “hate” it. 🙂

Again, I refer you to J. Stalin, paraphrasing, ” it’s who counts the votes”. How are we really to know the true outcome of any election when all we see around us is corruption? I refuse to believe the majority of us are that ignorant of what is going on. Quite simply, I don’t believe our votes are counted honestly. As for the first amendment, WHAT PART OF FREE don’t they get?

I hope lots of us-I mean 100’s of thousands land in jail. Maybe that will wake up the sleeping majority.

Well, isn’t this cheery news. Canada’s been there and done that:
In Feb this year a Canadian conservative site (Free Dominion) was forced to shut down after 13 years. Why? They had been sued for libel as postings had been judged disparaging and done with malice toward the ‘victim’. They were fined and an injunction was issued to “never publish, or allow to be published, anything negative about Richard Warman” Who is RW? A person who used multiple fake internet personas to go on sites to basically try to elicit hate speech so he could then ‘out’ them and sue the sites.
So to protect themselves the owners of FD had no option but to close down as anyone could come on their public site, post something terrible about RW and land them in trouble if not jail.
Canada used to have had something called Section 13 in its Civil Rights Act by which anyone could file a complaint about hate messages communicated on the internet or by telephone. Critics had said it enabled censorship on the internet and revoked the section last year.
So what could happen here? Will bloggers be at risk of trolled hate speech attacks? Will they be liable for comments posted by others on their sites? Because this is sounding alot like what Canada just got rid of.
And not to mention this: The White House Wants to Issue You an Online ID http://motherboard.vice.com/read/the-white-house-wants-to-issue-you-an-online-id “Next month, a pilot program of the “National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace” will begin in government agencies in two US states, to test out whether the pros of a federally verified cyber ID outweigh the cons.”
Coincidence this is coming up now? Is this the eventual goal, to have everybody using the internet identifiable by an online ID? And, eventually, to control who can access the net?
The mark of the beast indeed.

  9. Carl Kelley says:

We have a bunch of madmen in office. They will do anything to get power and anything to keep it. Dole out a little money and they buy votes to stay in office. So who does count the votes? Are they counted? This country is already in hell and in the proverbial hand basket.

  10. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

“The bill does not define which actions by broadcasters would be considered to have encouraged violence, seemingly leaving that open to interpretation.”

And THAT is the precise point of drafting the bill in this manner. It can open to active interpretation AT WILL.

THAT is its ultimate danger and threat.
