‘I Can’t Do This Again’: King Walks Out of State of the Union Address Due to Obama’s Stance on Abortion

Rep. Steve King of Iowa

Republican Rep. Steve King of Iowa stepped out of the House chamber where the State of the Union address was about to take place Tuesday, electing to pray in the members’ chapel during the speech due to President Barack Obama’s stance on abortion.

“When the president announced that he would have an empty seat up by the First Lady for those who are victims of gun violence, who no longer have a voice, and I thought of the millions and millions of unborn babies — on his first day in office he issued an executive order that accelerated abortions worldwide,” King told TheBlaze moments after stepping out of the House of Representatives chamber.

The lawmaker followed through on his promise from earlier in the day, adding that he took the “last chance” to leave the chamber just a few minutes before the president spoke. King said he made the decision to leave the State of the Union when he got back to Washington on Monday after hearing about the president’s plan to leave a chair empty for gun violence victims. He had already planned to leave his gallery seat empty in honor of abortion victims.

“I got into town last night and I just decided, I can’t do this again,” he said.

Obama’s grief for victims of shootings is fair, but it isn’t enough, King added. SOURCE

I have a lot of respect for Rep. Steve King for walking out on the Obama BS fest, uh, State of the Union address last night. I hope he has more courage than Joe Wilson did after he loudly stated, “YOU LIE” and then couldn’t make an apology quick enough.

I detest someone that says something and then doesn’t *back* their play, I hate people that tell me they are going to DO something and then don’t do anything. I would rather they kept their mouths shut and not say a word than to make statements they won’t back up or promises they won’t keep.

Referring to Obama;

“He did shed tears for the victims of Sandy Hook, and I think that’s appropriate,” he said. “But as far as we know, he’s never shed a tear for the millions of unborn babies that have been aborted since he took office. So I left my gallery seat empty, and my seat in the House chambers empty in commemoration of those who’ve never had a voice, not those who no longer have a voice, but those unborn babies who have never had a voice — and I’m going to the members’ chapel, where I’m going to spend my time there praying for the unborn, praying for the restoration of the Constitution and that God will raise up a leader whom he will use to restore the soul of America.”

As most folks know; I am NOT a religious person but if you are I am all for you and your beliefs, I will usually stand in your corner unless you’re some 2-bit huckster with a mega-church that can’t quote anything other than a few bible quotes about money.

I was raised in the Catholic Church and as such, I was raised in a home that was seriously anti-abortion and THAT, a position as an anti-abortion kind of guy is about the only part of my Catholic raising that stayed with me.

I personally believe that LIFE begins at conception and that a fetus is a human being, not a mass of cells.

Fetus

That is an unborn baby, a HUMAN being, and to kill that baby is MURDER and I don’t give a damn who likes that statement or doesn’t.

My wish is that MORE Congress Critters had the fortitude to stand against Obama and his EVIL regime of illegal-loving, abortion promoting, gun haters and America haters.

I didn’t’ see anyone else get up and walk out of the SOTU. Why is that Pete Sessions? You always seem to have an answer for everything and you love to toot your own horn, so, why didn’t you or your fellows have the BALLS to get up and walk out too?

Surely you’re not each and every one the GUTLESS Congress that we believe you to be?

Yes, if we had true leaders who had actual convictions, there would have been a lot more empty seats.

And fewer issues in the country today.

I look forward to a president who will actually adhere to and defend the constitution. Hopefully it will be this cycle.

  2. NativeSon says:

I concur Fred. ABORTION IS MURDER!!!!!
As far as the rest of the Congress critters having balls THAT is too much to hope for I’m afraid?

  3. Petermc3 says:

Mr King is recognized for who he is and what he has done, the rest are known for who they are and what they don’t have the morals or courage to do.

  4. Wayne says:

I honestly tried to watch him last night but I can’t even stand the sound of his voice. I think maybe ten minutes in I had to change the channel Abortion is murder in my book and like Fred, I have a foundation in the Catholic Church. I don’t practice the faith anymore but morals and ethics are a part of any religion. This is why I vehemently renounce islam as a religion. Fear of The Lord is one thing but following the dictates of ” the perfect man” is beyond the pale. I wish we had more patriots like congressman King. All who rose and clapped like trained seals are not worth watching at all.

  5. Charles Meredith says:

Most abortions are performed on Negro women.

Therefore, there are less Negroes going on welfare.
    I am for this.

We have too many recipients on welfare now!

    • Bubba says:

Yessiree, I ain’t got no use for them damned niggers either, and every time a nigger has an abortion we get us one less nigger, and if the bitch having the abortion dies, well then we got 2 less niggers and less niggers is always a good thing.

  6. Bubba says:

Fred, it ain’t none a my business but you had a comment showing a bit ago from some nigger called questionman and he was calling everyone here names and he was a defending Obama and all kinds of liberal bull shit. All of a sudden that bull shit was gone, after I worked real hard to make a comment tellin that nigger son of a bitch where to go and how to get there. What’s up with that?

    • TexasFred says:

Well Bubba, I AM sorry you worked so hard on a comment and then the one you were responding to was gone, but *Questionman* is a disgusting piece of shit from New York, he loves Obama, hates White folks and seems to think he can get a comment through on my blog page…

He is what I like to call WRONG… :)
