I support and endorse Cindy Burkett for TX-113

Cindy Burkett

There are some dirty politics right here in my little part of Texas, and the really SAD part of that statement is this; the dirtiest of the bunch are some TEA Party loons, some folks I suspect are from Van Zandt County. Folks that have more money than they do sense and have made serious, and in some cases, successful efforts to unseat people that aren’t even in their district, folks that do NOT represent them.

Since 2013, Cindy has represented District 113 in Dallas County and I, and many others are proud to have Cindy as our Representative in Austin. I am proud to call her my friend.

Read the following, it is an email sent out by another friend, Michael Gallops, Mayor Pro Tem, City of Rowlett and Chair, Precinct 2925 then I have a bit more I want to say about these *carpet baggers* and their *guy* in Van Zandt County.

You may have received a mailer from Jonathan Boos claiming that State Representative Cindy Burkett isn’t pro-life and isn’t conservative. That is an outright lie!

It’s a shame that Jonathan lies about Cindy on his recent mailer. I mean it’s bad enough that he’s a carpet-bagger who moved into the district in September 2015 just so he could run against Cindy.

He actually had a homestead exemption on his DALLAS home right up until he moved into a cheap apartment in Garland. Wouldn’t it have made a lot more sense for him to run against the Democrat in the district he lived in rather than moving out of his hometown to run against a conservative Republican?

Anyways, on his latest mailer he lies and says that HB 2351 wasn’t a pro-life bill when in fact it was supported by the TWO largest pro-life organizations in Texas (Texas Alliance for Life and Texans for Life Coalition). The reality is it was a VERY pro-life bill. In fact you can read the truth about that bill on this website: https://www.texasallianceforlife.org/…/pro…/support-hb-2351/.

Jonathan never mentions that the scorecards he brags about are put together by an ethically challenged lobbyist who purposely skews the scorecards by selectively picking votes to “score”. In fact, they sometimes score what is called a 2nd vote rather than the 3rd and final vote on some bills - and other times count the 3rd vote - when it boosts the handful of candidates they “support - the ones that kowtow to the lobbyists every wish.

In other words those with high scores often don’t think for themselves - they get an agenda from the lobbyist and vote accordingly - even if it’s bad for you here in Rowlett!

The reality is Cindy Burkett is a SOLID CONSERVATIVE who thinks through EVERY vote - and votes what is best for those of us in her district. She doesn’t bow to every whim of ethically challenged lobbyists. AND - Cindy will always tell you the truth!

So why is Jonathan lying? Maybe you should ask him….

Michael Gallops
Mayor Pro Tem, City of Rowlett
Chair, Precinct 2925

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong. That is your oath.

Jonathon Boos is a despicable little troll; he came knocking on my door a while back, all pumped and primed to tell me how HE was the one and how we were being taken to the cleaners by Cindy Burkett.

Imagine Boos’ surprise when I told him, in no uncertain terms, I support Cindy Burkett and the safest thing for him to do was get his lying ass OFF of my front doorstep.

Boos responded with, “Now wait just one minute” but it was too late, he had incurred my wrath and the door was slammed in his lying face.

I had already heard the tale of Boos and how he had taken an apartment in Garland and that when he was asked what Zip Code he lived in, he couldn’t answer because he was stuck for the right answer.

The truth would have been his Dallas address and Zip but that would have made him an obvious liar. Imagine that.

It is my understanding that Boos is funded by Michael Quinn Sullivan a Texas lobbyist and a big wig with Empower Texas, or so I am told.

Now here’s the honest truth; Mr. Sullivan can spend his money in any way he sees fit, it’s HIS money, and he can support candidates that represent HIS interests as well, but Cindy Burkett is NOT his Representative and it is my guess, an opinion only, that Boos is going to be dancing on a string if he were to get elected.

Another candidate that is being supported by Sullivan is Russell Ramsland, an individual running against Pete Sessions, TX-32 in the U.S. House.

I asked Ramsland, point blank, if he was associated with or being financed by Sullivan and what I got was an answer right out of the Bill Clinton play book.

“Well, what exactly do you mean, associated with?”

Oh please…

Here’s another truth for you, I want to see Pete Sessions GONE, he is the ultimate Washington insider and he plays games just like all the rest, but Sullivan is represented by Louie Gohmert (TX-01), why is he involved in political races in TX-32 and State 113? What’s in it for him, other than to see a TEA Party candidate win?

He (Sullivan) did, so I was told, support Katrina Pierson in her unsuccessful attempt to unseat Sessions 2 years ago. Pierson is TEA Party also, among a few other things.

The TEA Party tells us how conservative and honest they are but it is all a big line of BULL, they are like most any other organization, they will pull anything if they can get by with it unchallenged.

It’s politics, it’s lying time, it’s called, in far too many cases, swapping one liar for another, and in many more cases we are once again left with the choice of voting for the lesser of the evils.

I found out, a long time back; there’s a reason so many people call them *TEA ‘Tards*.

Sometimes your posts are on local matters as well they should be. But still we can see trends that apply anywhere we live. What’s going on is going on all over.

  2. cary says:

Makes me wanna move to Rowlett/Garland - with a representative the caliber of Cindy, it would be one helluva step up from the “representative” I have now …

  3. Capt Ron says:

I’m voting for Cindy Burkett again.

I don’t understand how this type of political BS is considered legal. Hillary moved to New York to run for the State Senatorship and won. This leads me to believe in voter fraud. the Clintons seem to know all the ins and outs and ways around a lot of laws and exploit them to their advantage. Fred, I hope your candidate wins in spite of the political nonsense I see here. Here in Florida I met Dane Eagle when he was going door to door and I had a good talk with him. He wound up with our vote and won.

  5. Petermc3 says:

Here in New Jersey no politician worth his/her salt need canvas door to door. Merely having a “D” after a candidate’s name insures a victory. In addition the literature one receives in the mail from the D candidates in particular are so misleading and antithetical to the truth that that alone would be enough to disqualify a candidate…in a sane world. Running with a Latin surname or a black face doesn’t hurt either.

  6. Texasperated says:

The only problem I have with Cindy (who spoke at our candidate gathering in Mesquite in 2010) is that she has voted consistently for Joe Straus. I wish she would quit that.

    Keep your powder dry

Fully agreed… I have wanted that SOB gone forever but far too many in the Texas House seem to think he’s a great guy and good at what he does…
