The Great Republic of Texas

Please note that Texas is the only state with a legal right to secede from the Union. We Texans love y’all, but we’ll probably have to take action since Barack Hussein Obama won the election. We’ll miss you too.

Here is what can happen:

#1: Barack Hussein Obama becomes President of the United States, Texas immediately secedes from the Union.

#2: Rick Perry will become the President of the Republic of Texas.

#3: Y’all can keep George W. Bush, we don’t need or want him.

So what does Texas have to do to survive as a Republic?

1. NASA is just south of Houston, Texas. We will control the space industry.

2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States.

3. Defense Industry–we have over 65% of it. The term “Don’t mess with Texas,” will take on a whole new meaning.

4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. Yankee states? Sorry about that.

5. Natural Gas - again we have all we need (The Barnett Shale) and it’s too bad about those Northern States. John Kerry will have to figure out a way to keep them warm.

6. Computer Industry - we currently lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications–small companies like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Semiconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Delphi, Nortel, Alcatel, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

7. Medical Care - We have the largest research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world, as well as other large health centers. Dallas has some of the best hospitals in the United States.

8. We have enough colleges to keep us going: University of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, SMU, University of Houston, Baylor, UNT (University of North Texas), Texas Women’s University, etc. Ivy grows better in the South anyway.

9. We have a ready supply of workers.

10. We have essential control of the paper industry, plastics, insurance, etc.

11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard. We don’t have an Army, but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an Army in 24 hours if we need one. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call the Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over Chuck Norris and a couple of Texas Rangers.

12. We are totally self-sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs, and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables, and let’s not forget seafood from the Gulf. Also, everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. We don’t need your food.

This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of Texas in good shape. There isn’t a thing out there that we need and don’t have.

Now to the rest of the United States under President Obama:

Since you won’t have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Obama will be able to drive around in his big 9 mpg SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes.

You won’t have any TV as the Space Center in Houston will cut off satellite communications to all but Texas subscribers.

You won’t have any natural gas to heat your homes, but since Mr. Obama has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas as long as you survive the 2000 years it will take to get enough heat from Global Warming.

Signed, The People of Texas

P.S. This is not a threatening letter - just a note to give you something to think about!

SLEEP WELL TONIGHT THE EYES OF TEXAS ARE UPON YOU!!

Jeez, I LOVE my home state! Heh. Personally, I think the whole south should secede. :)

Just have to LOVE Texas pride. However; take a look at the California flag, down near the bottom… Oops! Says REPUBLIC there, not that I would for even a second think that my home state would have the balls to actually use that status.
Colorado can also be self sufficient, however, since the invasion of Califiornios it has become only a shadow of it’s once independent former self.
The south may well rise again, but I don’t think that Texas would want a lot of today’s south along for the ride. Think about it.

What with the increased militia activity, black rifles flying off the store shelves, and renewed interest in survivalist themes? We could very well be in for one hell of a roller coaster ride, and Texas will not be standing alone…

My wife’s son is moving to Mesquite. Might have to look into moving there if things get too bad up here.

A bit off subject but I just bought a FNP-45 yesterday.
    http://www.fnhusa.com/le/products/firearms/model.asp?fid=FNF020&gid=FNG001&mid=FNM0061

I was looking to get a XD 45 Service Model with thumb safety but couldn’t find one to save my life. No dealer could guarantee an order as they were selling faster than they could stock them. I found the FNP at Bass Pro Shops and got a good price as it came with 3 14-round magazines, polymer holster, and magazine holster. I took it out to the range today and it performed flawlessly. It fed both hardball and hollow points like there was no tomorrow. I’m a happy camper.

    XD’s DO NOT have a thumb safety…

And I can have you an XD, in hand, as soon as UPS could make a delivery, sorry you settled for an FN, I hope it keeps you happy…

I’m looking forward to him moving to Mesquite as it would give me a good reason to visit the area. Last time I was in that area was back in the mid-80′s when I went to Carswell AFB for some advanced training.

Bob, we are 10/15 minutes from Mesquite now, you get down here and we’ll have us a blast, the gun range and Chinese food at least once a week!! :P

Sounds good. I would enjoy that.

Had to move away from the Dallas area, myself. I miss east Texas, but enjoy west Texas immensely.

I really, really wish Texas would secede, for more than just political reasons.
The only problems I can see is all the liberals and poor minorities (some overlap) in the large metropolitan areas would never go for it, as they would then lose their guv’ment checks or face living in a world devoid of people that think and live like them. This would mean that they (the libs and minorities) would have to move.
I am fine with that, but I imagine they are not.

Aside from that, I can’t think of too many real Texans who are against the idea of secession.

Gander Mt. firearm shelves, in Lubbock, are all but empty. Ammo, the same. They tell me they can only order 80 guns per order. There is a waiting list.
Have you been to your local firearms dealer lately ?
    Long Live Texas, Y`all !

Fred, there may be more to this post that’s almost kind of scary. I just read this today by a respected Russian political analyst who made a prediction years ago about the collapse of the US and his comparison today with the economic crisis.

    http://www.drudgereport.com/flashrur.htm

Here’s what he had to say concerning Texas.

He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts - the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong.

And I need to make a bit of a correction, XD’s do NOW have a thumb/slide safety. I saw my 1st one last weekend…

I have been told that was done in an effort to get a serious bid in with the military, they require a slide safety on their sidearm, part of the military specs thing…
