Gingrich Warns of Conservative 3rd Party in 2012

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich warns that conservatives could leave the GOP and form a third party in 2012 if Republicans don’t do more to rein in government spending.

“If the Republicans can’t break out of being the right wing party of big government, then I think you would see a third party movement in 2012, Gingrich said during an address to students at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri.

Gingrich attacked President Barack Obama’s “monstrosity of a budget,” but acknowledged that Republicans are also to blame for the huge increase in federal spending, CNN reported.

“Remember, everything Obama’s doing, Bush started last year,” he said.

Gingrich Warns of Conservative 3rd Party in 2012

I was trying to get this going well over a year ago. I was told it wouldn’t work, I was told it would divide the Republican Party. Well folks, that’s the intent, either form a REAL and Conservative 3rd party or force the RNC to reinvent themselves as one. I tried my very best to get this Conservative 3rd party thing rolling way before the last election. I guess since my name isn’t Newt, no one was going to listen to me, I mean, what the hell do I know, I’m just a Domestic Terrorist Blogger and I have never called a shot 3 or 4 years down the road.

Patrick Sperry over at Conservative Libertarian Outpost can site a number of instances where I have tried to get some political project going, or start a movement that I was told would surely fail, or was told that I had NO idea of what I was talking about, and in 1 particular instance I was told that I was crazy when I told folks that a certain U.S. Senator would retire from the Senate to come home and run for Governor. That was at least 6 years ago on a politics forum that Patrick and I used to frequent, and that Senator was Kay Bailey Hutchison. She is coming home to run for Governor in the next election.

This line got me here more than any in the entire story:

“Remember, everything Obama’s doing, Bush started last year,” he said.

“If you’re going to talk about big spending, the mistakes of the Bush administration last year are fully as bad as the mistakes of Obama’s first two, three months.”

Newt isn’t going to win any Bush Bot votes with that line, but it’s as true as anything that can be said. Bush may not be fully responsible for the shape that this nation is in, but it DID happen under his watch, all Obama and the Dems are doing is taking the Bush bailouts a lot further down the road. That would be the highway to hell I believe.

I have said it many times, the Republicans can’t get elected to the position of Dog Catcher if the Conservatives of this nation don’t support them, and I have seen NOTHING coming from the RNC to convince me that we need to support them. The RNC has done, and is doing, nothing different than they did under the last administration, other than making Michael ‘Yes, I am a RINO’ Steele their leader. That’s the only thing to change to date, and in my opinion, it can’t truly be viewed as a positive move. Steele bears more resemblance to a RINO than a fiscally conservative Republican.

Gingrich predicted that “fed up” Americans will instigate a “nationwide rebellion at the polls,” and said the increased government spending under Obama is “literally irrational.”

I have never been a huge Newt fan, but I have to say, his warning is right on the money, and if the RNC can’t get it done, then it’s time for a real, viable and electable 3rd party to emerge, and it might as well be a Conservative Party.

Rebellion at the polls? Hmmm….I’m seeing rebellion long before that. I can’t imagine how much more damage can be done before 2010, although, I’m fairly sure it’ll be massive.

  2. Longstreet says:

AMEN!, Fred! Been BEGGING for a Conservative Party for years now. I am convinced the GOP does not want us in it and I’d be happy to leave if I had somewhere to go that truly reflected my political philosophy.

Bring it on! I’m ready for “The Conservative Party”.

    JDL

He must be talking ’bout us!

Yeah! I’m with you in that I suggested this some time ago…maybe a long time ago!

If somebody out there has the time to compile all the other conservative blogs and organizations such as the American Independent Party and most Libertarian groups we all have a lot in common and need to unite under one roof. I started such a list over a year ago but has since been lost in the shuffle. I’m willing to assist anyone wanting to take on this task…right now I’m preparing for a trip to Texas and with all my other stuff don’t have the necessary time to devote to such an endeavor…but we ALL need to get together on this ASAP, 2010 is just up the road and if we don’t act soon we’ll miss our turn.
We have to put our minor differences apart and form one huge voting block…it can be done!

    Norm

ps: What ever happened to the million man march on Washington? We need to do this.

Also, let everybody you know tp boycot all major newspapers such as the New York Times, Boston Globe, etc…we need to get our AMERICAN news media back…
    talk to ya later

  4. StormWarning says:

Don’t y’all think that a third party will weaken the chances of a non-Democratic President being elected?

  5. TexasFred says:

A non-Democratic president is EXACTLY what we want to have, a CONSERVATIVE, non libberpuke…

It is way past time for a viable 3rd party, the goddamned Dems and Repukes have all but killed this nation…

  6. TXSonOfLiberty says:

Amen Fred. I say bring it on. I and a lot of other folks I know, would love to have a “Conservative” Party. The Marxists can stay with the Democraps, and the RINOs can stay with the now liberal Republicrats. We could get some candidates with the old fashioned American Values on the ballot. Then we wouldn’t have to vote for the lessor of two evils. I’m way past tired of that!!!

    KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY PATRIOTS!!!

  7. Patrick Sperry says:

Personally I have lost track of how many times Fred has called for the formation of a new Conservative Party. I think 2001 was the first time but I could easily be incorrect about that.

America is quickly being ran into the ground though, that is more than obvious to many of us. Just this morning I read a leftest blog at wordpress that was all about how we “rightwingnuts” are openly blogging about revolution, and how we have to be stopped.

Well folks, what’s it going to be; bullets or ballots?

  8. TexasFred says:

We need that URL Patrick, I may have some words of advice!!

  9. Kate says:

Patrick, I think we’re gonna need both. :?

  10. Patrick Sperry says:

But I really don’t want to send her hit meter into space.

Sadly Kate, it might come to that.

  11. Vigilante says:

I’m with ya 100 % Fred. We need someone to take the lead like Ross Perot, only not turn wimpass like he did with his phony excuse to quit.
I like the name “THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY” the party that will give us back our Constitution and restore our Bill of Rights. Once we get that, accomplished we need to have an amendment written & ratified that this kind of horseshit (obama) will NEVER be allowed to happen again.
I’d be for a national ID to eliminate voter fraud also.

  12. Carl Andrews says:

Yeah, and the RNC selects Michael Steele to be the chairman.
A guy whose idea of re-making the Republican Party is to “reach out to the “hip hop” community.”
Hey Steele, why don’t you hip hop your ass out of here?

  13. Bluebonnet Sue says:

Does anyone know why Ross Perot REALLY quit?

  14. TexasFred says:

Sue, the story I heard was that his wife threw a 1st class fit…

Said she wasn’t letting him work for that little money, SHE wasn’t living in a run down old house and she hated the neighborhood… D.C.

    Just sayin’… :P
