CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (AP) - Elodia Ortiz drops her children at school in the morning, picks them up in the afternoon and makes an occasional trip to the supermarket. Anything else, she says, is too dangerous.
Parents in Ciudad Juarez, just across the border from El Paso, Texas, are afraid to venture into the streets amid a turf war between two powerful drug cartels that has left more than 4,500 people dead during the past two years.
Their fears spiked last weekend when hit men attacked two white SUVs leaving a birthday party, killing parents from two U.S. Consulate families in front of their screaming children.
The violence has risen to such levels in Ciudad Juarez that everyone feels at risk in the city of 1.3 million, where innocent people have been increasingly caught in the crossfire. Hit men have gone to wrong addresses or shot indiscriminately into homes, mowing down not only the targeted people but anyone nearby.

I’ve been taken to task by those that believe themselves to be erudite conservatives.
They attack me for my views on ILLEGALS, their presence in this nation and how I believe they need to be dealt with.
I have made no secret of the fact that I believe our southern border should be manned by the National Guard. I also believe that the National Guard should be fully armed and ready for any combat operation necessary to repel these invaders, by ANY means.
I have been called racist, heartless, cruel, mean, ignorant and red neck. A plethora of names have been tossed and accusations have been made against me and this blog simply because I STILL stand for America 1st and the sovereignty of our borders.
Well, all I can say regarding that is this, if I am stirring up these self described conservatives, if my views on what needs to be done to protect this nation is angering them, then I must be doing something RIGHT! 
Mothers have driven into daytime shootouts, bending over their children to protect them. Toddlers have been fatally pierced by bullets while playing on the swings at city playgrounds. Waitresses have been slain for having the misfortune of serving marked men.
“We’re shut in our house,” said Ortiz, a mother of five, as she stood outside Vicente Guerrero elementary school, her 7-year-old daughter clinging to her as she shyly eyed other students walking by. “We have to get to school, we have to work. But we’re afraid when we leave.”
These people are being forced to lead miserable lives. I am truly sorry for their plight. I mean that in all sincerity. But I am not so sympathetic to their cause that I want their violence and their lifestyle to spill over into the United States, any more than it already has.
I wish their lives were different. I wish their lives were better, but they are suffering the result of a totally corrupt, socialist government. A government that has left their police and military powerless to do anything to rectify their situation due to massive internal corruption.
Take a very close look at the current situation in Mexico folks. That is us in a very short time if this socialist demagog that goes by the name of Barack Hussein Obama is allowed to continue.
Border security is a joke. It was a joke under Bush 43, Clinton, Bush 41 and every other U.S. president in recent American history. Border security is nothing more than a few Border Patrol agents, out numbered and out gunned, toiling in the night, trying to round up vast numbers of ILLEGALS, not to mention the drug runners and potential terrorists that cross into the USA on a daily basis.
Wasn’t that Virtual Border Fence supposed to be in place and make it unnecessary to place boots on the ground in an effort to stop the invasion?

Bush touted the SBInet project as “the most technologically advanced border security initiative in American history.” The proposed “virtual border fence” along the US-Mexican border was to be a string of towers that would use cameras, radar, and ground sensors to see who was coming across in real time.
Now the project, which spent $2.4 billion between 2005 and 2009, has hit so many snags that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is freezing its funding.
“Not only do we have an obligation to secure our borders, we have a responsibility to do so in the most cost-effective way possible,” wrote DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano in a press release Tuesday. “The system of sensors and cameras along the Southwest border known as SBInet has been plagued with cost overruns and missed deadlines.”

So, the fence isn’t complete, what is there isn’t effective and the invasion continues. You just KNOW that it’s got to be a government project.
In early trials, technical problems and other snafus led to media reports that DHS and the Boeing Co., which held contracts to build two sections of the high-tech fence, might mothball the project.
Problems included software glitches, camera images affected by wind and rain, and radar that had trouble distinguishing sagebrush from camping migrants or animals.
I am going to repeat this again, BOOTS ON THE GROUND!
Fully armed Troops, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, M1A1/M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tanks, AH-64 Apaches, 240-Bravo machine guns, M-249 Squad Automatic Weapons (SAW), land mines, dogs, Night Vision Glasses (NVGs) and a GREEN LIGHT to shoot anything crossing OUR border at anything other than a LEGAL border crossing!

Fred - You are correct in what has to be done to secure the border. But you and I and anyone else with half a brain knows Obama will do nothing. All those illegals are a future voting block. With the violence along the border being what it is( a civil war ); the US should completely shut the border down. Calderon should be told there will be no border crossings until he has complete control and anyone trying to cross will be shot. Illegals in America will be its undoing if left unchecked. Its akin to the barbarians overrunning Rome. Once the border is secure, then all illegals here now should be rounded up and deported. Now, there is one heck of a job creator.

The fact is, Immigration is the next front in the war for our nation. Obama has already OK’d the “Blueprint” and I’m betting it has NO border security provisions in it, it will contain amnesty, freebies and more more more…..BUT not one practical solution to stop the flood.

Fred, if your views on illegal aliens makes you a racist, then you have a lot of company. Millions of Americans are fed up with illegals crossing our borders, especially our Southern one.
They bring their crime, drugs, and medical problems with them. They are a drain on our economy to the tune of billions of dollars per year and they’re taking jobs Americans desperately need.
Their alcohol abuse is causing hundreds of innocent citizens to die needlessly on our highways every year and their gangs are terrorizing our cities.
We need the National Guard protecting our borders now.
Also, did anybody get their census form yet? Look at question 8 where it wants to know if you’re Hispanic or have any Hispanic’s living at your residence. Question 8 is the only one that wants to know a particular group of people. Now, question 9 asks race but 8 is just for a particular nationality.
I’m wondering, what’s the purpose of question 8? Are they looking to set up voting blocks of Hispanics like they did for Blacks in the past, leading to Congressional districts of a mile wide? Are the wanting to create these districts to get more Hispanics elected to congress? Makes me wonder.

I understand the so-called virtual border fence has been places on hold due to technical problems-technical problems my ass! The fence was never intended to work, but just a ploy by open border advocates like Lindsay and McCain to placate those favoring real border security. The corruption and ineffectiveness of the Mexican government is taking a toll on everyday Mexicans and those Americans who live and work south of the border. The violence is slowing spreading north and its only a matter of time before a major incident occurs on this side of the border. Shut it down now, before its too late. We know however this will not happen, even if lives are lost north of the border. This is where we are at with our politicians not wanting to offend potential Latino voters living in this country.

I am concerned that if the House passes ObamaCare with the “Deem and Pass” process, they will have a green light to pass the New Amnesty bill the same way! And they WILL!

ObozoCare is going to make many people angry. Virginia has already passed a law stating that if the Feds come after Virginians who don’t want to sign on with it, they will see em in court!!!! You only have a legal contract if both parties are in agreement! All states need to follow suit!

It is time for Our Governor Perry to start a “Sheriff Joe Arapio” lockdown program on all illegal aliens.
Our local police departments NEED the State Of Texas backing to start a state-wide id check of anyone who fits the description and profile.
Once checked, and the person IS PROVEN to be a legit citizen of the USA, say thank you for being a US Citizen.
