Feds to file lawsuit over Arizona immigration law

PHOENIX (AP) - The U.S. Justice Department is filing a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Arizona’s new law targeting illegal immigrants, setting the stage for a clash between the federal government and the state over the nation’s toughest immigration crackdown.

The planned lawsuit was confirmed to The Associated Press by a Justice Department official with knowledge of the plans. The official didn’t want to be identified before a public announcement planned for later Tuesday by Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano, a former Arizona governor.

The lawsuit will argue that Arizona’s law requiring state and local police to question and possibly arrest illegal immigrants during the enforcement of other laws such as traffic stops usurps federal authority.

The government will likely seek an injunction to delay the July 29 implementation of the law until the case is resolved.

What in the hell is wrong with the Department of Justice? Are they morons?

Arizona law, SB 1070, closely mirrors the immigration laws of the United States, a law that is not being enforced I might add, but when a state exercises it’s right to enforce much needed laws that should fall under the dominion of the U.S. government, said government sues Arizona?

But, the very same Department of Justice refuses to prosecute certain individuals for the crime of VOTER INTIMIDATION? A crime that was committed. A crime that was documented with video and voice documentation. A vile crime that smacks of REVERSE RACISM, yet the DOJ, under Attorney General Eric Holder refuses to prosecute?

The proof is in the video and audio I have presented above, Now, consider this;

Where is the New York Times? Where is The Washington Post? Where are CBS and NBC? A whistleblower makes explosive allegations about the Department of Justice; his story is backed by at least two other witnesses; and the allegations involve the two hot-button issues of race and of blatant politicization of the justice system. A potential constitutional confrontation stemming from the scandal brews between the Justice Department and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. A congressman highly respected for thoughtfulness and bipartisanship has all but accused the department of serious impropriety. By every standard of objective journalism, this adds up to real news. Is Eric Holder that far into the tank for Barack Hussein Obama? Is Holder that much of a reverse racist? That’s MY supposition.

Is the entire Obama administration that much racist? So much so that they will ignore blatant violations of FEDERAL law regarding voter intimidation?

I believe they may well be that racist!

What the hell, it was only a few WHITE voters that were feeling intimidated. It really isn’t an issue for the DOJ to involve itself in, is it?

The ‘Brothers’ were only standing there, merely swinging billy-clubs, making racist comments and calling for WHITE people to die. Why would ANY citizen feel intimidated? It must be the ingrained misconceptions that those racist Conservatives, rich GOP members have concerning guys in para-military gear making threats. These WHITE folks are just way too sensitive and thin skinned.

No, I can’t see ANY reason why a part Black President and Attorney General would see a thing wrong here.

That damned FOOL in the White House wants NASA to Play Nice with a bunch of camel jockey ragheads but can’t protect this nations borders and won’t prosecute a couple of New Black Panthers swinging night sticks, intimidating voters and making threats.

America is SCREWED!

So I guess from here on out we can act like democrat supporters…White folks can now don Klan robes and carry weapons in front of polling places. We can now call out derogatory names to those entering the polls…I guess we can also dig up a few million DEAD folks and have them vote as well as voting multiple times…Legal Precedence has now been set…

I suspect the AZ law will go right up the appeals court chain, as I believe AZ will appeal immediately. At least, thank God, this won’t be heard in CA’s LOSER 9th Circuit.

And right here is a perfect example of what is wrong with America, a small cross section to be sure, but very representative of the ignorance that is destroying this nation.

  5. BobF says:

Who would have thought we would ever see the day where the Federal Government would file suit against a State for enforcing the laws of this nation and protecting its sovereignty?

  6. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

Ignorant, man you are being WAY too kind.

But you’re correct, THIS is why the nation is failing — a country filled with blithering IDIOTS.

No doubt Barry, Rahm and Eric are toasting their courage, admiring each others’ manliness and sharing compliments about how they aren’t going to let their own incompetence and do-lessness intrude on their efforts to sacrifice the good people of Arizona to the lawless Mexican drug dealers.

  8. mrchuck says:

The president is stupid to allow attorney general Holder to file.
This will never be forgotten in the remaining months that Obama remains in office.
His “ship of fools” is sinking around him, and this Rod Blogovich scandal is another hole in his sinking ship.
Obamaslammadingdong has only 4 months left.

  9. BobF says:

A federal judge on Thursday granted Mexico’s request to be allowed to file a legal brief supporting the challenge. That means the judge will consider the brief Mexico submitted previously.

Mexico says it wants to defend its citizens’ rights and that the law would lead to racial profiling and hinder trade and tourism. It also says the law would hinder work against drug trafficking and related violence.

Jug-Eared Jackass is taking this nation down the toilet fast.

  10. TexasFred says:

Bob, it’s not just Obama that’s taking this nation down…

Fully HALF of this nation doesn’t give a DAMN, the other half, maybe 25% are doers, the rest run off at the mouth and show us what voter apathy is all about…

The TEA Party here in Rowlett is a joke, it has NO leadership, no direction, and that seems to be a complaint about the TEA Party as a whole, a lot of talk and little else…

We are WAY past the time for talk and bullshit, it’s time for action, and if these apathetic slugs don’t get off of their apathetic asses and get fired up in November, Obama will have everything he needs to turn this into a 3rd world dung heap and to set himself up as dictator of said dung heap…

What in the hell is wrong with the Department of Justice? Are they morons?

    That’s a rhetorical question, right?

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again…..I detest the whole lot of ’em!

  12. Steve Dennis says:

I am hoping that Arizona will be able to turn the tables on the feds. Perhaps they can use this trial to indict the federal government for their lack of enforcement on the borders. Now that would be sweet!
