Mayor Bloomberg blasts Tea Party

Mayor Bloomberg blasts Tea Party, describes it as often irrational, ‘not a political movement’

Mayor Bloomberg went on for quite a while about immigration reform, and about Washington’s roadblocks to progress in general during his WOR-AM radio show with host John Gambling, before turning the topic to the Tea Party.

“The wake-up call, John, is called the Tea Party. That’s what the Tea Party is. It’s funny, it’s not a political movement. They don’t, they’re not pro-choice or pro-life. They’re not pro-gun or anti-gun. They’re not pro-gay-rights or anti-gay-rights. They’re not with any of the social issues.”

And then, Bloomberg, the registered Independent, put the Tea Party in some historical context. “They are a group of people, and you see this every eight, 10 years, there was a Perot boomlet if you remember, and then there’s the, there was a McCain boomlet eight, 10 years ago.

“And it’s, ‘I’m sick of it.’ That’s what people are saying. ‘I don’t know what the answer is, your job is to figure it out, Mr. Congressman, Mr. Senator, Miss President, whatever it is. But I’m just telling you, I’m annoyed. I’m not going to do, I don’t want to take this anymore.”

Mayor Bloomberg blasts Tea Party, describes it as often irrational, ‘not a political movement’

Bloomberg claims to be an Independent. He may be, but I am convinced that he’s an independent liberal. A libber by ANY name.

“They don’t, they’re not pro-choice or pro-life. They’re not pro-gun or anti-gun. They’re not pro-gay-rights or anti-gay-rights. They’re not with any of the social issues.”

Bloomberg is a trouble maker, he’s shooting in the dark and he just made himself out to be a fool that is either not very well read or believes everything that the left leaning media has to say.

Mr. Bloomberg, if you happen to Google yourself and see this post, please note; the TEA Party is NOT a social issues organization, you are 100% correct when you say that. The TEA Party doesn’t take an official stand on pro-choice, pro-life, pro-gun, anti-gun, pro-gay-rights or anti-gay-rights.

I’m certain that ALL TEA Party members have strong feelings regarding those issues, but they just aren’t a part of the TEA Party platform and are NOT a part of the Core Values of the TEA Party.

These are the Core Values of the TEA Party:

*Uphold the U.S. Constitution*
*Limited Government*
*Fiscal Responsibility*
*Free Markets*

Try as I might, I can’t find anything in the Core Values of the TEA Party that mentions abortion, guns or homosexuality. I have looked, diligently!

Michael Bloomberg may be a very well educated man, we know that he has tons of money, but I am firmly convinced that he either doesn’t study the facts, OR, doesn’t take the time to form responsible opinions before he speaks.

There’s a few folks in the TEA Party that want to make those very issues into TEA Party issues. There are a few folks that want to turn the TEA Party into a *Come to Jesus* organization, but they are truly the minority of TEA Party activists. It is my personal opinion that most TEA Party activists that want to attend church services do so at the church of their choice. They don’t really need to have a TEA Party meeting or function turned into a religious service.

Again, speaking personally, I didn’t become a part of the TEA Party to find salvation. The TEA Party was not then, and is not now, to the best of my knowledge, an ecumenical organization.

The billionaire businessman-turned-Big Apple mayor then turned to the “direction” of the Tea Party.

“And so they cast out,” he said, and in many cases they, their casting out may be irrational in terms of the direction they go, but there is the argument that they’ve listened to both Republicans and Democrats again and again saying, ‘If you elect me I’ll fix it.’”

Perhaps this critique by Bloomberg will give TEA Party members the inspiration needed to find that missing sense of direction.

The TEA Party isn’t doing too bad as is. Bloomberg had better hope that the TEA Party doesn’t get too well organized. If that were to happen, the TEA Party, and American Conservatives, real Conservatives, would be a force to be reckoned with.

I am a Conservative, with a libertarian tilt, I always have been I suppose, it just took some time for me to define that position and come to grips with it. A very good friend of mine that is a Conservative libertarian has told me for years that this was the best way to describe my own personal politics.

I’m not a *bible thumper*, but if you want to say a prayer, by all means, do so, just don’t tell me that I have to.

I don’t care if you smoke a joint, don’t force it on me.

It’s none of my business who you have sex with, or how you do it. I’m not interested.

If you like guns, great, lets go shooting. If you don’t like guns, you don’t have to denigrate me and my fellow gun owners because we do.

I don’t hate Democrats, I hate stupid liberals, and straight ticket party hacks, of ALL parties.

Regardless of the party affiliation Bloomberg gives himself, he is still an anti-gun liberal of the 1st order. He will support any liberal cause that comes down the pike, and all Bloomberg can do now is spew more stupid libber screed about the TEA Party.

It reminds me of people that impugn the Masons yet sing the praises of Shriners.

Stupidity is terminal, ignorance can be overcome. The TEA Party is standing against stupidity, and those that are trying to tear this nation down with their PCness and ‘can’t we all just get along’ meme.

The TEA Party is making every effort to overcome the ignorance and voter apathy that allowed this nation to be taken to the verge of financial meltdown by those in D.C.

The TEA Party is NOT a flash in the pan Mr. Bloomberg. We are real, we are dedicated and we are going to make changes to this nation, changes that people of your ilk will NOT like.

Bank on it!

There is a poll on the link back to the original story regarding the TEA Party and it’s importance, maybe a few of you will drop by and let your opinion be known. So far, the TEA Party is looking pretty good! You might want to hit that poll before Bloomberg makes them pull it down.

The only reason Bloomberg is an Independent is because he wanted a third term as mayor of New York and was forbidden to do so as a Democrat.

Katie — NYC people are stupid for letting him manipulate like that…

Of COURSE Bloomberg is a lib. He’s in favor of the GZ mosque, gushed over Rangel at his fundraising birthday bash, and he says stuff like this: “Every one of my positions cuts out half the country. I’m pro-choice, I’m pro-gay rights, I’m pro-immigration, I’m against guns, I believe in Darwin.”
Now which does that sound like: an independent a Republican, or a liberal Democrat?

We all know that Bloomberg is nothing more than a liberal but now we know that he-much like many other lefties-just don’t get what the Tea Party is all about. We may be able to use this ignorance about the Tea Party against them in November and in the future. Let them contunue to try to delegitimize us, we are coming…..

Bloomberg is just another lefty traitor who needs to be dealt with in the appropriate manner. He and Soros must be related.

He’s nothing more than an muslim sympathizer, that has a crazy notion that they’ll consider him their friend and will wait to kill his worthless self last. We’re all sick mr bloomberg, sick of RICH elitists like YOU, thinking you’re so much better than the people that elected you, and sick and tired of your tax and spend and call us right wing nazi’s because we just don’t think we should hand over our money to people like you anymore and not getting anything in return except a bunch of wimpy blubbering from you and your political scumbags. mr bloombang, kiss my royal ass!!!!!!!!!!!

vigilante, I’m not a prude, I work in the real world and I hear a lot of things said, but is there ever a comment that you can make without sounding like some kind of gutter trash with the language? You make some decent points man, you really do, then ya go and lose all of em with the nasty words. Grow up man, we don’t none of us need to read that stuff over and over, day after day. You’re the reason I don’t read here that much any more, you’re disgusting.

Fred, why do you let this guy mess up your blog with all of his gutter talk?

  8. comment number 8 by: TexasFred

Bubba — Vigilante has always commented like that, and once in a while I edit out a few words, the really bad stuff, *F* bombs and such… But I try not to tell people how to comment…

I am just too busy to edit out all the foul language… If it offends you, I apologize, but it’s not ME making the comments…

And I agree, Vigilante does bring some excellent points to the blog, and you’re not the 1st one to mention the language…

That’s part of the reason my readership has fallen by about 43% and donations have fallen to ZERO.

I am writing a lot of good posts, but folks tell me that they too don’t like the constant profanity in the comments section…

  9. comment number 9 by: Wicked Step Mother

I’m not a prude either, but I have stopped making comments and don’t read here nearly as often, the profanity from this vigilante, unbridled profanity, on EVERY comment, is totally uncalled for.

Great piece Fred, and yes I am going to steal parts, and link back.

As for the language thing? I had, IMO, to start editing over at CLO because there are several Teachers that have their students read CLO from time to time, and I don’t want to be part of exposing them to the sort of verbiage that sometimes comes out.

Bloomberg only believes in the rights assigned to us by the Constitution if it applies to Islamist’s right to kill us, hate on us, or gloat over killing us. He is a flaming, anti-America, moonbat in my book.

  12. comment number 12 by: ozarkguru

Bloomberg is more than rich elitist playing all sides of the fence; he doesn’t respect a citizen activist.

By the way, the TEA Party supports the US Constitution and thereby supports the 2nd Amendment just like we support the 1st Amendment - free speech - etc.

  13. comment number 13 by: Patrick Sperry

And now HAM is insulting all the innocent Moonbats in the world! Should I report her to the S.P.C.M? (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Moonbats)

    Had to Hon! :)

The Straw Purchase Felon gets away with what he does for one simple reason; as Basti, Fred, and myself have said for very long. Follow the money.

It is nothing short of a national dishonor that those of wealth and means get treated better than the rest of us rabble. At least that is the de facto situation, and has been forever…

  14. comment number 14 by: HoosierArmyMom

Patrick, you are just a big ole stinker!!! LMBO!!!!

I’ve been reading hear for a long time but wouldn’t comment simply because of the language used by a poster named vigilante. I hope the admin here stops this garbage, TF’s blog could be one of the best on the net if the language was stopped. If I was in a better financial position I would donate to help make up for the losses you’ve experienced because of this crude person.
