The Shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords
On Saturday afternoon I posed this question to my friends on Facebook:
Here’s what’s bugging me: We KNOW the guys name, we know a kid and the Judge are dead and other people are shot, we KNOW Giffords was shot through the brain, and is still alive… What we don’t know is this, what type of pistol and what caliber was it? I want to know!
Later, Saturday night, my wife and I were both pouring over stories looking for ANY new angle and fresh perspective and she found this:
Two people tackled the suspected shooter, stopping a spray of bullets from what federal and state law enforcement sources described as a 9mm Glock outfitted with a 30-round magazine. SOURCE
Being a somewhat knowledgeable gun person, I was certain that the shooter had to have been armed with a high capacity handgun of some sort. I was thinking more along the lines of him having several 12 or 13 round magazines and some serious skill at firing and rapidly reloading the magazines into the pistol. I guess I was wrong on that one.
I have seen these 30 round magazines before, used in YouTube videos to demonstrate a fully auto-loading Glock. That weapon was supposedly a Police Only weapon and magazine.
Apparently the 30 round magazines are available to the civilian market. Well, for now anyway.
TUCSON, Ariz. – A gunman unloaded a semiautomatic weapon outside a busy supermarket Saturday during a public gathering for Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, killing Arizona’s chief federal judge and five others in an attempted assassination that left Americans questioning whether divisive politics had pushed the suspect over the edge.
The shooting targeted Giffords and left the three-term congresswoman in critical condition after a bullet passed through her brain. A shaken President Barack Obama called the attack “a tragedy for our entire country.” SOURCE
There’s no information on exactly why the shooter opened fire. There is much speculation, all over the MSM and blogosphere, but I am not going to guess and speculate. Here’s more of what is known at this time, the pistol was purchased legally by the shooter.

I am hearing much discussion regarding the mental state of the shooter, Jared Loughner, and I am also hearing some serious rumblings about a mentally unbalanced person being able to buy a firearm.
Some have referenced back to the Virginia Tech tragedy, and the mental illness that shooter was suffering, as a reason to not allow the mentally disturbed to buy a weapon.
I have to ask this, WHO gets to decide the appropriate mental state of a gun buyer and WHO defines mental stability?
I have never been to a gun shop that had a certified psychologist on staff. If a potential buyer is not in the national criminal registry, the dealer has NO WAY to determine the mental stability or the intent of a buyer.
Giffords, 40, is a moderate Democrat who narrowly won re-election in November against a tea party candidate who sought to throw her from office over her support of the health care law. Anger over her position became violent at times, with her Tucson office vandalized after the House passed the overhaul last March and someone showing up at a recent gathering with a weapon. SOURCE
Before the smoke had cleared, the left, libbers, the morons at Daily Kos and the moonbats at the DUmp, Democratic Underground, were blaming the TEA Party, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Ted Nugent, The N.R.A. and everyone on the Conservative right, and saying that they were the ones responsible for Gabrielle Giffords being shot.
Well, of course it was the TEA Party and 2nd Amendment supporters that caused this. We ALL know, the TEA Party movement is over-run with 22 and 23 year old anarchists that list The Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf on their preferred reading list. And we ALL know how much influence the TEA Party and Glenn Beck have over the youth of America. Right?
The truth about Jared Loughner, and his apparent far left liberalism, his desire to be an anarchist and his overall dissatisfaction with America has begun to come out, and nowhere is there a hint of him being a TEA Party member, a Beck fan, a Palin supporter or any of the utter nonsense being spewed by the loons of the left.
In conclusion, reading the second United States Constitution, I can’t trust the government because of the ratifications: The government is implying mind control and brainwash 0n the people by controlling grammar.
No! I won’t pay debt with a currency that’s not backed by gold and silver!
No! I won’t trust in God!

This guy is a whole bag full of psychosis and anti-American anarchist sentiment.
I’m not one to be a willy-nilly alarmist, but I do know this; there are anarchists among us. They take the title of patriot and freedom fighter, they claim many political names and affiliations, and most try to associate themselves with the political RIGHT on many occasions.
It appears that Jared Loughner is the exact opposite of the far right anarchist. I believe that as this story develops and the truth surfaces, Jared Loughner will be outed as a far left radical that acted in the belief that Gabrielle Giffords wasn’t far enough to the left for his tastes.
No matter the skewed reasoning of Loughner, this will drive an even bigger wedge between the right and left of America, and will leave the mostly sane, legal and responsible Conservatives caught in the middle between radical factions of BOTH sides.

WHY is SHE (Giffords) subscribed to Loughner’s YouTube channel?
Just a while ago either the Sheriff or FBI Director said that Loughner had been invited to attend through some sort of communication, probably email.
I’m fuzzier than usual on the details, as I only heard the comment passing through the TV room.
Don’t believe the left would have reacted the way they have if it was a Republican or conservative that had been shot. This was a tragic act committed by a wackjob who’s favorite reading is The Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf. Pima County Sheriff is in the tank for Obama. Tuscon is a hotbed for the illegal immigration movement. LaRaza and other Marxist latinogroups thrive in that area.

The left is doing all it can to link this scumbag with the Tea Party and Conservatives. Within a couple of hours, the MSM was executing an all out effort to do this. As the truth comes out, look for the MSM to keep quiet on his left wing beliefs. They will purposely leave people with the lies they fabricated. The left will milk this for all they can. In the teachings of Rahm Emanuel, they will not allow a serious crisis go to waste.
The little girl that was killed, Christina Green, is the granddaughter of Dallas Green, manager of the 1980 world champion Phillies.
Two facts I’d care to point out:
1. Tucson, AZ is a sanctuary city.
2. The mentally unstable cannot be forced to medicate. I work for LE in Fornicalia; our facilities are rife with the unhinged who go on and off their medication. After speaking with JPS medication may be indicated or re-indicated. It is their choosing if they wish to take their meds, though choosing to do so may frequently make them more unmanageable and consequently more violent and a danger to deputies and staff.
We cannot, of course, force them to medicate.
