Kurdish Rebels Threaten Attacks Against U.S. Interests

May 6th, 2008 . by TexasFred

QANDIL MOUNTAINS, Iraq - Kurdish rebels could launch suicide attacks against American interests to punish the U.S. for sharing intelligence with Turkey after Turkey bombed rebel bases, a spokeswoman for a wing of a rebel group warned.

Turkey’s military said more than 150 Kurdish rebels were killed in Friday’s air strikes against bases of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, on Mount Qandil on the border of Iran and Iraq. Peritan Derseem, a senior official of the rebel group’s Iranian wing, PEJAK, claimed that only six people were killed in latest Turkish strikes.

The PKK fights for autonomy in Turkey’s southeast and also has a wing fighting for Kurdish rights in Iran.

Derseem blamed the United States for helping Turkey in an interview late Sunday.

She said some rebels want to join suicide squads to avenge the deaths of their comrades but that “combatants are under the control of the organization,” which she said is against such attacks. That may change, Derseem hinted.

“We have changed our stand toward the United States government and we are standing against them now,” she said. “Maybe some day … individual combatants might launch suicide attacks inside Iraq and Turkey, and even against American interests.”

Kurdish Rebels Threaten Attacks Against U.S. Interests

So now the Kurds are pissed off at the USA and are threatening to attack U.S. targets??

Aren’t these the people that so many here in the USA had their bloomers in a wad over?? The ones that Saddam gassed?? Aren’t they one of the major justifications for going to war in Iraq, that Iraqi Freedom thing??

So, now they are going on the declared enemies list, well, isn’t that an interesting turn of events, maybe we need to give the Turks even more information, Turkey has wanted to go after the Kurds in northern Iraq for a long time and have held off at the behest of the USA, maybe it’s time to turn them loose and let them run a while…

Turkey has been an ally for a long time, we have a history with Turkey, Ambivalent Allies and it would be in our favor to court that alliance, seriously, what do the Kurds have to offer us in the way of value?? Not too much that I can see, and now that they have declared their hostile intentions, put them on that ‘if you’re not with us, you’re against us’ list…

You know, maybe there was a legitimate reason Saddam went after the Kurds, it seems they have a history of pissing off forces that can take them out of the equation, and we can do just that, all our forces need is an order to get the job done, and in my estimation, once a nation or people declare a hostile intent, it’s game on!!

Green Zone attacked during sandstorm

April 27th, 2008 . by TexasFred

BAGHDAD - Militants fired a salvo of rockets or mortars at the heavily guarded Green Zone in Baghdad on Sunday, while officials reported that Iraqi security forces had found more than 100 bodies in two mass graves.

The militants apparently were taking advantage of a sandstorm that blanketed the Iraqi capital Sunday and grounded U.S. helicopters and drones that normally track their activities.

Fifty bodies were found in a mass grave in central Iraq on Sunday, a military source in the area said, and another team said it had discovered more than 50 bodies in a grave south of Baghdad on April 17.

The grave found on Sunday was in the village of al-Guba, 50 miles north of Baghdad, in the troubled Diyala province, where al-Qaida Sunni Arab militants have regrouped after being driven out of other parts of the country.

Most of the bodies had their hands bound and gunshot wounds in the head. Some were decomposed, according to the military source, who declined to be named.

A senior security spokesman in Baghdad, Major-General Qassim Moussawi, said police and Iraqi military had uncovered 51 bodies in a grave on April 17 in Mahmudiya, a town 20 miles south of Baghdad.

He added that security forces had taken them to the morgue of a local hospital and some families had already identified the victims as their relatives.

I sure do wish ‘The Queen of the Bush Bots’ wasn’t avoiding me, I’d love to hear one of her “I got my information while hanging out behind the ‘O’ Club” stories, you know the stories I am talking about, the ones that she tells as Gospel about how everything is just lovely in Iraq, yeah, those stories…

These lies from the MSM are just so depressing, I had come to count on “Queenie” because of the truth and accuracy in her reporting the facts from a place she’s never been and never will go to either…

One of MY contacts, a guy that I thought was my friend, a guy that really IS in Iraq, in a capacity that’s way over the pay grade of anyone that ‘Queenie’ knows, well, he must be a liar too, just like the MSM, he tells pretty much the same stories that the MSM is putting out there, rocket and mortar attacks, references to civil war, heavy stuff in some areas, yeah, those lies, I guess he’s making it up, or, he may be having flashbacks to a time past when he was flying for Air Am, uh, doing some humanitarian work in S.E. Asia, yeah, humanitarian work, that’s the ticket!!

And we all know what liars those humanitarian types can be…

al-Sadr’s followers refuse to disband militia in Iraq

April 20th, 2008 . by TexasFred

BAGHDAD (AP) - Followers of hardline cleric Muqtada al-Sadr raised the stakes Sunday in the showdown with Iraq’s government, refusing to disband their militia as the U.S. military reported an “uptick” of fighting in the Iraqi capital.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, meanwhile, assured visiting Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that he will not back down in his confrontation with Shiite militias, even as mortar shells fired from Shiite areas struck the U.S.-protected Green Zone.

In a sign of that resolve, Iraqi soldiers took control Sunday of the last stronghold of al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army militia in the southern city of Basra, where an Iraqi offensive last month triggered the current wave of Shiite fighting.

Al-Maliki, a Shiite, has demanded that al-Sadr disband his Mahdi Army, the country’s biggest Shiite militia, or his followers will not be allowed to run in provincial elections this fall.

Full Story Here:
al-Sadr’s followers refuse to disband militia in Iraq

I am going to say this in language so simple that even a raghead loving, bleeding heart, liberal Canadian crybaby with a NO AUTHORITY nothing little blog can understand every word, and have NO problem figuring out the EXACT meaning of every word, al-Sadr and his bunch of moonbats are the major reason for, and the primary perpetrators of the insurgency in Iraq…

Kill them, kill as many of them as is humanly possible, they have been given every opportunity to become a part of a working Iraqi government but all they have done is continue to mount guerrilla type operations against our military and the Iraqi forces…

KILL THEM, crush them like the useless infestation they are, because all they are is a waste of good oxygen, this world would be much better off with them gone, and the violence in Iraq would be substantially lessened by their demise…

How hard can that be to comprehend?? You would think that IF our president seriously wanted to attain Victory in Iraq, as he and his Bush Bot supporters have claimed, he’d figure this out for himself…

Maybe not… :?

Anti-US cleric al-Sadr threatens new uprising in Iraq

April 19th, 2008 . by TexasFred

BAGHDAD (AP) - Anti-American Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr gave a “final warning” to the government Saturday to halt a U.S.-Iraqi crackdown against his followers or he would declare “open war until liberation.”

A full-blown uprising by al-Sadr, who led two rebellions against U.S.-led forces in 2004, could lead to a dramatic increase in violence in Iraq at a time when the Sunni extremist group al-Qaida in Iraq appears poised for new attacks after suffering severe blows last year.

Al-Sadr’s warning appeared on his Web site as Iraq’s Shiite-dominated government claimed success in a new push against Shiite militants in the southern city of Basra. Fighting claimed 14 more lives in Sadr City, the Baghdad stronghold of al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army.

Fighting in Sadr City and the crackdown in Basra are part of a government campaign against followers of al-Sadr and Iranian-backed Shiite splinter groups that the U.S. has identified as the gravest threat to a democratic Iraq.

Full Story Here:
Anti-US cleric al-Sadr threatens new uprising in Iraq

If the U.S. military doesn’t stop this moonbat, uh, radical Shiite cleric al-Sadr, it WILL NOT happen, if the job is left to the Iraqi forces, they will lay down their arms, or, surrender them to the Mahdi army would be a more accurate description, and then will join forces with al-Sadr in this deepening CIVIL WAR, also known as The Debacle in Iraq

I realize that al-Sadr and his Moonbat, uh, Mahdi army aren’t that much of a serious threat, more of an annoyance really, like flies in the barn yard, but they can and do cause death and destruction, the waters in this Debacle in Iraq are so muddied now that it’s going to be difficult to determine exactly who the good guys and the bad guys actually are…

One of my readers recently suggested that the way to end the insurgency in Iraq would be to shoot ANY person seen that was carrying a rifle and NOT in uniform, and to a certain degree I can find NO fault with that strategy, but even that won’t get all of them, not to mention the fact that private contractors and CIA guys aren’t in uniform, and they DO carry weapons, and the possibility for error would be huge, and the results could be catastrophic…

You see, as I, and many others have told our readers for quite some time now, the Iraqi army and police have more supporters of al-Sadr in their ranks than they do supporters of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, and once the fighting begins in earnest, the Iraqi military and police will turn tail and run, mostly to the al-Sadr camp, or, just maybe become simple deserters, like the cowards they are…

I have said repeatedly, Iraq IS in the midst of a CIVIL WAR, and that’s a place where we have no business being involved, Vietnam should have taught us that lesson, and yes, I know that it was OUR deposing of Saddam that brought this on, I also know that it was the utter and absolute mismanagement, and ill conceived planning by the Bush War Machine that allowed what should have been a relatively minor combat operation to become an all out debacle that has transgressed into CIVIL WAR

al-Sadr doesn’t scare our troops, they would love to annihilate this trouble maker, but our Presidential PCness has not allowed that action to come to fruition, and so, this reprehensible cretin al-Sadr is allowed to rear his ugly head once more…

It’s time for Mr. Bush to make a decision, but I think we already know what HIS decision will be, Stay the Course, as we are faced with being the total support of and the only viable combat force in Iraq, and are forced to work within the limits of the leash that has been placed upon our troops by their CiC as they watch the Iraqi troops exhibit their known propensity for cowardice and desertion…

Our troops have nothing but the best of intentions and will follow whatever orders they are given, it is MY opinion that they need to be given the order to clean out the entire nation of Iraq or be given the order to clear the AO and come home, how simple can it be??

Our troops deserve to see this thing brought to an honorable ending, they have given everything they have to give, and are prepared to give even more, Bush OWES them a chance to see the payoff for their efforts…

I read a lot of blogs that claim to be in total support of our troops, but they also remain in total support of The Debacle in Iraq as well, Iraqi Freedom if you will, and they have no problem with telling Bush what a marvelous job he’s doing by keeping our troops mired in this mess…

To me, by not encouraging the POTUS, and our Senate and Congress to bring this thing to a decisive conclusion, and by not making every effort possible to get the WIN THIS THING message out there, well, that is not exactly what I would call maximum effort where troop support in concerned…

Pentagon institute calls Iraq war ‘a major debacle’ with outcome ‘in doubt’

April 18th, 2008 . by TexasFred

WASHINGTON — The war in Iraq has become “a major debacle” and the outcome “is in doubt” despite improvements in security from the buildup in U.S. forces, according to a highly critical study published Thursday by the Pentagon’s premier military educational institute.

The report released by the National Defense University raises fresh doubts about President Bush’s projections of a U.S. victory in Iraq just a week after Bush announced that he was suspending U.S. troop reductions.

The report carries considerable weight because it was written by Joseph Collins, a former senior Pentagon official, and was based in part on interviews with other former senior defense and intelligence officials who played roles in prewar preparations.

It was published by the university’s National Institute for Strategic Studies, a Defense Department research center.

“Measured in blood and treasure, the war in Iraq has achieved the status of a major war and a major debacle,” says the report’s opening line.

At the time the report was written last fall, more than 4,000 U.S. and foreign troops, more than 7,500 Iraqi security forces and as many as 82,000 Iraqi civilians had been killed and tens of thousands of others wounded, while the cost of the war since March 2003 was estimated at $450 billion .

Pentagon institute calls Iraq war ‘a major debacle’ with outcome ‘in doubt’

“Measured in blood and treasure, the war in Iraq has achieved the status of a major war and a major debacle,” says the report’s opening line.

I’ll bet all the little Bush Bots just cringed when that one hit, it’s not some helter-skelter attack piece from a left wing moonbat nut job bunch that’s anti-war for the sake of being anti war, it’s from the Pentagon’s premier military educational institute, imagine that, from The University, and they say Iraq is a DEBACLE, the Pentagon institute, the most top shelf think tank the Pentagon has at it’s disposal, and they call Iraq a DEBACLE, I’ll just be damned, who would have ever thought??

As any regular reader of this blog knows, I have called this thing The Debacle in Iraq for a long time now, and the Bots all said I didn’t know what I was talking about, they said I never knew what really went on in Iraq and that I had no clear picture of The Debacle in Iraq, yep, that’s what they said, I wonder, what will they be saying now??

This report reads like it was written by me, of at least with me as a consultant or contributor, you see, this report has been coming for a long time, and some folks knew it was coming, it had to, the REAL tale of the tape HAD to be told, and we tried to tell folks that truth about what was really happening in Iraq, but the Bush Bots tried their very best to shout us down, to discredit me and a few others, simply because we didn’t kiss Bush’s ass and because we had the gall to speak the truth and not the feel good bullshit that gets handed out in the press briefings…

I suspect that the Queen of the Bush Bots will do her level best to discredit Joseph Collins, the author of the report, he will be called a demented detractor, a Bush hater,, an enemy of this nation, a closet Islamic supporter, and God forbid, he may be called a paid shill, one that was put in place by the Democrats just to try and make Bush look bad, like Bush needs help in that department…

OK, sarcasm aside, this report is nothing less than personal vindication, and it gives serious citation for MY statements and opinions as posted on this blog…

You see, some of us are in the know, some of us are still connected to the right people, people that are still in Baghdad, people that DO see the BIG picture, and this report has been long, long overdue, let the lamentations of the Bots begin, this report says almost everything I have been saying for months now, we never should have gone to Iraq, we can’t walk away from Iraq, and there appears to be NO end in sight to The Debacle in Iraq, not a satisfactory ending, not one that our current president is prepared to execute…

World News and Commentary from TexasFred

April 17th, 2008 . by TexasFred
There are too many great articles in the news today, so instead of covering just 1 or 2, I hope you’ll enjoy a few snippets of the ones I found most interesting, along with my sarcastic, yet insightful commentary of course, all the best to all of you!! ~TexasFred~

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — An Ohio middle school teacher says he won’t obey an order to remove a Bible from view of students. John Freshwater said Wednesday he agreed to remove a collage from his classroom that included the Ten Commandments, but that asking him to remove the Bible on his desk goes too far.

Full Story Here:

I would be willing to bet serious money that this school district wouldn’t have ANY problem if he had a Koran on his desk…

WASHINGTON (AP) - Republicans are no longer underdogs in the race for the White House. To pull that off, John McCain has attracted disgruntled GOP voters, independents and even some moderate Democrats who shunned his party last fall.

Full Story Here:
AP-Yahoo poll shows McCain winning back unhappy Republicans

McCain isn’t winning back anything, he’s not attracting the disgruntled voters because he’s that good, and it’s certainly not because he’s likable, it’s because he is perceived as being the lesser of the evils, and that’s the exact same reasoning that was applied when electing GWB to office, twice…

BAGHDAD - A suicide bomber struck the funeral of two anti-al-Qaida Sunni tribesmen in a town north of Baghdad on Thursday, killing at least 50 people and wounding dozens, police said.

Civil war?? What civil war?? Right?? If it’s not a civil war, then just what would you call it??

KINGSVILLE, Texas (AP) — A truckload of suspected illegal immigrants fled during a traffic stop near the Texas A&M University at Kingsville campus Wednesday, forcing a lockdown of the school for three hours as police chased them, officials said.

Full Story Here:
School locked down after illegal-immigrant chase

Just once I’d love to hear the MSM report a story like this and call the ILLEGALS what they really are, INVADERS, and it would be even better if the heading read, ‘All of the INVADERS were killed by police and armed, irate citizens during the chase, no prisoners were taken and no charges will be filed against the citizens!’, that would be a news story worth reading…

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Israel struck hard against targets in Gaza on Wednesday, killing at least 20 Palestinians in a day of heavy fighting that also saw three Israeli soldiers die in a Hamas ambush. Among the Palestinian dead was a news cameraman.

Full Story Here:
At Least 20 Palestinians Killed in Gaza Violence

The only thing I have to say to our Israeli friends is this, don’t stop now, you’re just getting warmed up, put an end to this Palestinian infestation once and for all, and take Mr. Peanut out with that trash too while you’re at it, the world would be a much nicer place…

60 die as car bombs rip through crowded areas in Iraq

April 15th, 2008 . by TexasFred

BAGHDAD (AP) - Car bombs and a suicide attacker struck crowded areas in Baghdad and former insurgent strongholds to the north and west of the capital Tuesday, killing nearly 60 people and breaking a recent lull in violence in the predominantly Sunni areas.

The attacks were a deadly reminder of the threat posed by suspected Sunni insurgents even as clashes between Shiite militia fighters and U.S.-Iraqi forces continued elsewhere.

The U.S. military condemned the bombings and said they appeared to have been carried out by al-Qaida in Iraq.

The first blast occurred in Baqouba, 35 miles northeast of Baghdad, when a car parked in front of a restaurant exploded just before noon across the street from the central courthouse and other government offices.

Full Story Here:
60 die as car bombs rip through crowded areas in Iraq

The minds of our military leaders are still as sharp as ever I see, “The U.S. military condemned the bombings and said they appeared to have been carried out by al-Qaida in Iraq.”, not that this is a funny story, because it’s not, but that line cracked me up, who the hell else do you suppose it could be??

I am going to point to this fact one more time, al-Qaida was NOT a part of Iraq when Saddam was in power, al-Qaida came to Iraq because WE are there and Iraq is where they can easily kill as many Americans as possible, as well as disrupt the process of rebuilding Iraq, thereby making the USA look worse to the world, as well as costing us additional BILLIONS of our tax dollars as we attempt to rebuild a nation that is still in a state of civil war

How do you suppose we are going to stop this Debacle in Iraq?? Can we kill ALL of the insurgents, and those that operate in the name of al-Qaida??

No, we can’t, not any more than we can kill every Muslim in the world today, we don’t have the will or the GUTS to prosecute an action of that nature, but the Islamic insurgency does, and they prove that statement nearly every day, every time an IED goes off, every time a homicide bomber hits the trigger and kills innocent men, women and children, they prove that they are the animals many of us accuse them of being…

How do you fight that mindset?? How do you stop an insurgency with believers that will strap on a bomb belt and walk into a crowded store, restaurant, Mosque or any other public place, and will kill untold numbers of people in an effort to hammer home their demented and sick political agenda, and do so with NO remorse?? How do you stop that?? By fighting it with a war of Political Correctness?? When your enemy has no morals, no decency and certainly no conscience??

When some brainiac at the Pentagon, or one of our military think tanks comes up with the answer to that question, then we’ll know how to end this war…

And as long as we have a POTUS that is more concerned with NOT offending our enemies, as opposed to killing them, we will just have to learn to tolerate these occasional indiscretions from The Religion of Peace

And NONE of the current crop running for POTUS are going to be ANY better than the one in office right now…

1,300 Iraqi Troops, Police Dismissed

April 13th, 2008 . by TexasFred

BAGHDAD (AP) - The Iraqi government has dismissed about 1,300 soldiers and policemen who deserted or refused to fight during last month’s offensive against Shiite militias and criminal gangs in Basra, officials said Sunday.

Interior Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Abdul-Karim Khalaf said 921 police and soldiers were fired in Basra. They included 37 senior police officers ranging in rank from lieutenant colonel to brigadier general.

The others were dismissed in Kut, one of the Shiite cities where the fight had spread.

Last month, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki ordered the security forces to confront armed groups in Basra, Iraq’s second largest city.

But they met fierce resistance and the attack quickly ground to a halt as fighting flared across the Shiite south and Baghdad.

Full Story Here:
1,300 Iraqi Troops, Police Dismissed

1,300 Iraqi troops and police are dismissed?? For desertion?? DISMISSED??

They deserted in time of WAR, they should be lined up and SHOT!!

That’s numbers coming close to being half of a combat brigade folks, a brigade is 3,500 troops, and we have many brigades in Iraq, and they are waiting on the Iraqi army to STAND UP so that they can come home, but the Iraqis have desertions in these kinds of numbers, and ALL that gets done is a dismissal, a mere slap on the wrist??

These are the people that OUR troops are fighting and dying for, our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, moms, dads, husbands and wives, and many friends as well, and this is what we can expect from the Iraqi army and police??

It’s time to re-think this Debacle in Iraq, I have NEVER voted for a Democrat in my life, but if that’s what it takes to get our troops OUT of Iraq, then by God I WILL vote Democrat this go round, and make NO mistake, I know that over all, a vote for the Dems is a bad thing, but voting for a Democrat is exactly what you’ll be doing if you vote for John McCain, a Democrat without the name, a candidate that is nothing more than a RINO, and the one thing that John McCain guarantees is this, we’re going to stay in Iraq, fighting and dying for a people that will NOT stand and fight for themselves…

We were attacked by the Taliban and their cohorts on 9-11-01, and I never balked so much as once when we went to Afghanistan to take on that bunch of thugs, but Iraq was NOT about the Taliban or al-Qaida, not in it’s inception, Iraq was simply George W. Bush having a temper tantrum because Saddam defied his wishes and threatened ‘Daddy’, and after several changes of mission statement and definition, we’re still there, in Iraq, an entire nation that is NOT worth the life of so much as ONE of our fine men and women in uniform…

I know there will be many that disagree with this post, but quite frankly, I DON’T CARE, if you can’t open your eyes and see what us being in Iraq has done to this nation, and what George W. Bush has brought upon this nation by taking us TO Iraq, then you are truly one of the blind Bush Bots, and if that offends you, feel free to click out of this blog and stay clicked out!!

I personally feel that those who support the Debacle in Iraq are doing a dis-service to our military members, if we are going to go to war, anywhere in this world, we owe it to our men and women in uniform to prosecute that war in the most expeditious manner possible, and to get them home safely, as soon as possible, and that has NOT been the case in Iraq, we are still conducting a tit for tat, a travesty which we have no apparent desire to end…

And once again the war fighting skills of the Iraqi army make it quite apparent as to exactly WHY we rolled over Saddam and his Republican Guard in such short order, the Iraqis WILL NOT FIGHT, they will conduct insurgent and guerrilla operations, they WILL persecute defenseless people, they will dominate and murder those that won’t fight back but IF there is a challenge made against the Iraqi army, they, as a whole, show their true colors and run like dogs…

Any nation or people that refuses to fight for it’s own freedom is NOT worth fighting FOR, not by us or any other nation, a people that will not stand in their own defense are not worth defending!!

Support Iraqi Freedom?? Screw Iraq AND it’s freedom, bring our troops home NOW, or deploy them to a place where they can actually do some good in the War on Terror, and not leave them act as stand-ins and IED fodder for some insurgency and their civil war!

Petraeus Calls for Troop Withdrawal Halt

April 8th, 2008 . by TexasFred

WASHINGTON (AP) - The U.S. general commanding the Iraq war called Tuesday for an open-ended suspension of U.S. troop withdrawals this summer, reflecting concern about a recent flare-up in violence and leaving open the possibility that few, if any, additional troops will be brought home before President Bush leaves office in January.

Gen. David Petraeus told a Senate hearing that he recommends a 45-day “period of consolidation and evaluation” once the extra combat forces that Bush ordered to Iraq last year have completed their pullout in July. He did not commit to a timetable for resuming troop reductions after the 45-day pause.

“At the end of that period, we will commence a process of assessment to examine the conditions on the ground and, over time, determine when we can make recommendations for further reductions,” Petraeus said.

Full Story Here:
Petraeus Calls for Troop Withdrawal Halt

There is an on-line petition at the site for U.S. Senator John Cornyn asking for signers to show their support of Gen. David Petraeus, and Sen. Cornyn plans on giving this list of supporters to the General personally:

Please sign this petition telling General Petraeus that we support the job that he and his troops are doing in Iraq.

The next time I see General Petraeus I’ll be sure to pass along a big Texas “thank you” to him and to all of our men and women in uniform for all that they do.

Your signature will assure General Petraeus that he and his troops have the support and admiration of all Texans and Americans, no matter what Democrats and their third party attack machine would have you believe.

~ Senator John Cornyn

The petition can be found here:
Sign the General David Petraeus Petition

I went to the site and signed this petition, and just below is an exact, word for word copy of the message that I sent to Sen. Cornyn for him pass along to Gen. Petraeus on my behalf.

I DO support the troops, I have NEVER agreed with the reasons stated by the Bush administration for us going to Iraq though, I was NEVER convinced that Iraq was ‘Priority 1′ but I DO support our troops, even if I don’t agree with our POTUS and his stated reasons for them being there.

My Son has already done one tour in Iraq and his Guard unit has been told they will be going back in early 2010.

I have a suggestion for General Petraeus, IF we’re going to be in Iraq, why don’t we go ahead and kick the living crap out of the entire insurgency, AND the supporters OF that insurgency, and get this thing over with, not some ‘SURGE’, but a real, hardcore, massive offensive that will bring this thing to an acceptable solution…

We were directly involved in WWII for 3 years and 9 months, we’ve been in Iraq for over 5 years and the insurgency is still active, and still killing OUR troops, and to me, and my way of thinking, this is a totally unacceptable situation…

We are, supposedly, the strongest nation on earth, with a military that is 2nd to none, tell Bush to let the guys DO THE JOB, stop the PC bullshit and get this thing over with, our troops have the will to DO that job, does General Petraeus have the will to tell his CiC to allow them to do it??

Does General Petraeus have the balls to lead them IN that mission?

I certainly hope so..

Several of the Bush Bot bloggers seem think I am anti-war for some strange reason and have called me lots of names over the last couple of years, traitor being the most common so far, and nothing could be further from the truth, I am NOT anti-war, I am anti-bullshitting around, if we’re going to fight, by God, let’s do some fighting and get this thing over with.

If you can’t see the logic in that then you’re not a Conservative, but I’d bet you’re a Bush supporter that’s going to become a McCainiac very soon.
