Druglords Seize People-Smuggling Routes

April 30th, 2007 . by TexasFred

SASABE, Mexico (AP) - Mexican druglords are taking over the business of smuggling migrants into the United States, using them as human decoys to divert authorities from billions of dollars in cocaine shipments across the same border.

U.S. and Mexican law enforcement officials told The Associated Press that drug traffickers, in response to a U.S. border crackdown, have seized control of the routes they once shared with human smugglers and in the process are transforming themselves into more diversified crime syndicates.

The really big question that I want answered is this, IF we know it’s going on, why don’t we have even more National Guard troops on the border shutting this mess down?? Is the war in Iraq placing our own nation in jeopardy?? If it is then WHY are we placing the needs of Iraq above our own??

The drug gangs get protection money from the migrants and then effectively use them to clear the trail for the flow of drugs.

Undocumented aliens are used “to maneuver where they want us or don’t want us to be,” said Alonzo Pena, chief of investigations for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Arizona.

And again I say, IF we know all of this, and we DO, why aren’t we doing whatever it takes to stop it?? Can anyone answer that?? Why does Mr. Bush continue to ignore the NEEDS of this nation and put the people of Iraq above his own??

And why does Mr. Bush put the care and well being of the illegal invaders above the well being of the American people?? I can’t understand that one, not in the slightest…

“We have been able to seal many of the drug routes by adding technology and more agents,” Soto said. “We’re seeing a tremendous amount of drugs being seized.”

We must seal more than just the drug routes being used, our borders should be absolutely sovereign and inviolate, there should be no question as to where the border is nor what the resulting crossing of that border will incur…

Once upon a time, in a world far, far away, to cross the border of another nation illegally was considered an international incident, and to do so while armed was considered to be an act of war and was dealt with appropriately…

Can we get back to that time again??

The Truth Laid Bear and Systemic Problems

April 30th, 2007 . by TexasFred

What follows below is an exact copy of the email I just sent to NZ Bear, the proprietor of TTLB, The Truth Laid Bear and the Eco-System… Please feel free to comment on this if you will and let this guy know how YOU feel about the TTLB system and how well it’s working for you… Fred

NZ Bear,

I am about to blast you ALL OVER the blogosphere, and you can’t say you weren’t warned previously…

Your so-called Eco-System and excuses for it’s malfunctions and ignoring people when they try to contact you has gone on for long enough, trouble tickets are a joke too, they get ignored right along with the emails…

My personal blog, TexasFred, went from #145, which is about right, to #45 to #42 to #30 to #58,956 in the course of 1 stinking week…

I know people that are all but begging you to get them on the TTLB and you won’t even show them the decency of a response and after they have submitted their blogs, they never show up, you never make a post on YOUR blog concerning the failures of TTLB, you never send a mass email to the members to let them know that your system is a failure, you are NOT tending to business and for that, there is no excuse…

No one asked you to build TTLB, no one held a gun to your head and demanded that you make this one of the best ranking services that ever was, you did it, on your own, and then you just threw it away, at least that’s MY opinion…

I am not sure WHY you are letting people down the way you are, surely it’s not because of your less than stellar endeavor called The Victory Caucus…

NZ, this email is going out to over 250 blog OWNERS and is going to be posted on my blog, I am fed up with the crap, I have taken everything connected to you or your so-called Eco-System OFF of the TexasFred Blog and the Reject the U.N. Blog as well, and that’s funny too, the U.N. Blog is Ranked #6 on your system…

Dude, you need to unscrew your head and get your shit together, once upon a time you had something really great, a worthwhile service, right up til the time you decided to do the New and Improved thing..

To my readers, if you’ve had an issue with TTLB, if you’ve tried to contact him and been ignored, if you’ve seen your blog not show up or do weird things while ON his service, PLEASE make a comment on my blog so that he can see exactly what I am talking about, provided he’s not so rude as to ignore this email too…

It is my belief that if you’re going to offer a service such as TTLB, you need to either have the whereto to keep it running correctly or the intestinal fortitude to can it, tell people you’ve canned it, and then move on…

What say YOU the bloggers??

Sincerely,
TexasFred

Minorities fare worse in traffic stops

Black, Latino drivers fare worse in traffic stops

Study: Minorities searched, jailed more often than whites when pulled over

WASHINGTON - Black, Hispanic and white drivers are equally likely to be pulled over by police, but blacks and Hispanics are much more likely to be searched and arrested, a federal study found.

Police were much more likely to threaten or use force against blacks and Hispanics than against whites in any encounter, whether at a traffic stop or elsewhere, according to the Justice Department.

The study, released Sunday by the department’s Bureau of Justice Statistics, covered police contacts with the public during 2005 and was based on interviews by the Census Bureau with nearly 64,000 people age 16 or over.

“The numbers are very consistent” with those found in a similar study of police-public contacts in 2002, bureau statistician Matthew R. Durose, the report’s co-author, said in an interview. “There’s some stability in the findings over these three years.”

Minorities fare worse in traffic stops

Having witnessed, or been involved in a few traffic stops conducted over the years, and having known very well or been related to some of those making the stops, I can tell you this from 1st hand experience and observation, the minorities that DID catch the really nasty end of the stick we’re the ones that brought it upon themselves…

They exited their vehicles in a rapid and threatening manner, they were loud, abusive and profane, with those actions being directed towards the officer making the stop, regardless of the officers demeanor, and there always seemed to be a CHIP on the shoulder of the minority that had the worst attitude, the professional victim syndrome so to speak…

It’s something you sort of expect when you stop a ‘63 Chevy low-rider or a Caddy pimp-mobile with the fuzzy dice and hip-hop rocking windows 3 blocks away, but I have seen supposedly professional Blacks and Hispanics go absolutely ballistic because of a routine traffic stop…

It’s pretty likely I will again be called a racist for this type of post but I don’t care, if people don’t want to be subjected to profiled traffic stops, don’t engage in profiled activities, if you want to be treated in a professional manner, act as if you ARE a professional, and that applies to the Officer as well, if you want to be talked to in a respectful manner, address the officer in a moderate and pleasant tone of voice, if you use that as YOUR standard and the officer doesn’t, you win, hands down, no pun intended…

You get out of the car and the 1st words out of your mouth are “What the f**k are you stoppin’ me for you white-assed honky pig??” and you can pretty well rest assured it’s going to go down hill from there, really fast…

Rice: Bush Would Oppose Iraq Benchmarks

April 29th, 2007 . by TexasFred

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush will not support a war spending bill that punishes the Iraqi government for failing to meet benchmarks for progress, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Sunday.

Rice’s comments cast fresh doubt on a potential compromise between the Democratic-led Congress and the White House in getting money to U.S. troops.

Didn’t Mr. Bush and the Sec/Def both tell us, as well as Iraq and the entire world, that the U.S. commitment to Iraq is NOT open ended?? I seem to distinctly remember him saying that the Iraqis must show progress of their own if they want us to stay… Yes, they did, I had to refresh my memory as to when and where but it was fairly recent as indicated Here , Here and Here

He said disagreeing with him over the war — as many in the room do — does not mean “you don’t share the same sense of patriotism I do.”

“You can get that thought out of your mind, if that’s what some believe,” the president said. “These are tough times, but there’s no doubt in my mind that you want to secure this homeland as much as I do.”

Uh, Mr. President, I, as well as most Conservative already know that, but could you do us a favor?? Pass that on to a certain group that we refer to as ‘Bush Bots’?? Especially one Army wife in particular?? She really believes that anyone that disagrees with you is the Devil incarnate, she told me my Teddy Roosevelt quote at the top of my blog was an effort to twist things to MY way, I mean, you know better, and so do most people, but could ya drop her and her 3 or 4 buddies a note and tell em it’s OK and they don’t have to use covert means to try and destroy someones blog?? Please?? Just askin’…

“I listened to many members here, I listened to members of my own party, I listened to the military and came up with a plan that I genuinely believe has the best of succeeding,” the president said.

‘And after listening to all those people I decided to do it MY way, since I’m the decider and all, and since there’s not a damn thing any of y’all can do, I’m a ‘lame duck’, what are you gonna do, not re-elect me?’ would likely be a lot closer to what the real thought process was…

What this all boils down to is partisan politics, and it’s being used to play with the lives of American troops, and that’s not right, no matter who is doing it…

Iraq Leader Warns Iran on Attacks Abroad

April 29th, 2007 . by TexasFred

BAGHDAD (AP) - Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki told an Iranian envoy Sunday that the persistent attacks in Iraq are also a threat abroad, a pointed warning amid U.S. accusations that the government in Tehran is stoking the violence by supporting Shiite militias.

That may be construed as a pointed warning in some circles but seriously, what is al-Maliki going to do other than talk and beg?? Without the USA backing him, al-Maliki is a toothless tiger and Iran is fully aware of that fact…

Al-Maliki met with top Iranian envoy Ali Larijani in Baghdad as Iran agreed to attend a major U.S.-backed regional conference on Iraq set for this week in Egypt, raising hopes that bringing Iraq’s neighbors together will help stabilize the country.

U.S. backed talks may be the way to settle this but I’m not so sure, history points out, quite clearly, the Arabs and Persians and most other people of that region of the world have been killing each other for centuries, over the most minor insult, and full blown tribal and sectarian wars are fought over a difference of opinion in religious interpretation, what makes us so confident that we can change centuries of tribal aggression with some talks?? Until there is a change in attitude by the Muslims, nothing else will change…

“Terrorist operations targeting Iraq will affect all countries in the world that are supposed to be supporting the Iraqi government in its war against terrorism,” al-Maliki said in a statement issued by his office, adding that the prime minister also thanked Iran for agreeing to participate in this week’s conference in Sharm el-Sheik.

al-Maliki is shooting in the dark, he’s hoping his brethren will rally to his side if he makes an impassioned plea for unity and support, we ALL know where the terrorists and insurgents come from and we ALL know why they have descended upon Iraq, no one in the Islamic world wants to see a viable, working democracy in play in Iraq, that is a sign of defeat as far as the Muslims are concerned and that is the very reason the insurgents and terrorists are fighting so hard to turn the tide of the Iraqi people themselves…

Larijani said that “countries that want security and stability in the region have no choice but to support Iraq’s elected government.”

And the gentleman from Iran may well be correct but until Iran itself steps up and makes serious peace overture, no one is going to take his rhetoric seriously…

The bottom line for Iran is put up, shut up and play by the rules, otherwise, they aren’t part of the solution, they are part of the problem

Democrats: U.S. Has Lost Global Standing

April 28th, 2007 . by TexasFred

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The United States has lost its global standing during George W. Bush’s presidency and needs a Democratic commander in chief to restore America’s place in the world, Democrats running for the White House said Saturday.

In MY opinion, half of that paragraph is glaringly correct, the U.S. has lost it’s global standing and to a large degree, much respect from other nations of the world, and it is because of the way the war in Iraq was conducted under the stewardship of Pres. Bush but I believe the 2nd half of that paragraph was dictated after the speaker took a huge drink of DNC punch

What the hell is a Democratic president going to do to restore our proper level of respect?? Break bad on Iraq and get this thing done right?? Yeah, sure they are…

“What their perception is that America is a bully and we only care about our short-term interests,” Edwards said. “The starting place is to end the bleeding sore that is the war in Iraq.”

There ya go Johnny Boy, label us, not the radical insurgents that are going to keep on attacking everything in Iraq for as long as we’re there, and will take over Iraq the minute we leave, yeah Johnny, take their side of this thing…

You want to “end the bleeding sore that is the war in Iraq.”?? Cauterize it, in other words, light the fires of a REAL fight and get the job done, but that’s not going to happen, and ya know why?? Because YOU, none of your Dem buddies or George W. Bush have the BALLS to make it happen, that’s why…

“The American people are looking for us as Democrats,” said Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “They’re looking for someone literally, not figuratively, to restore America’s place in the world.”

You’re right Joe, Americans ARE looking for someone that can restore the American prestige that has been lost under the Bush administration, but it’s not you either, or your band of Democratic loons

What this nation needs, and must have if we ever expect to return to any position of world respect, is a man of the caliber of Tom Tancredo, Fred Thompson or Duncan Hunter, or a combination OF that trio, it’s going to take true CONSERVATIVES to rebuild this nation, not some mental midget taking off half cocked in an effort to impress his Daddy, or a ‘Breck’ model that hasn’t got a clue…
