Backlash to Obama officials squelching political speech

WorldNetDaily - Following legal threats by Missouri state law-enforcement officials supporting Barack Obama against presidential campaign ads that appeared to be false or misleading, Gov. Matt Blunt today likened the intimidation to “police state tactics.”

“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign,” said Blunt in a statement released today. “What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.”

The statement came after the law enforcement officials pledged to form a “truth squad” to halt ads that, among other things, claimed Obama was not a Christian or that he was not planning to cut taxes on Americans other than the wealthy.

“If they’re not going to tell the truth, somebody’s got to step up and say, ‘That’s not the truth. This is the truth,’” McCullogh told KMOV-TV in St. Louis.

The effort appeared to be part of a move by the Obama campaign to block advertisements to which it objects. The campaign also sent “threatening” letters to several news agencies in Pennsylvania and Ohio demanding they stop airing ads exposing Obama’s gun stance, according to the National Rifle Association.

“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson,” said Blunt. “I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.”

Folks, all I can say is read the full story from WND, and pay special attention to this paragraph:

Blunt concluded: “Barack Obama needs to grow up. Leftist blogs and others in the press constantly say false things about me and my family. Usually, we ignore false and scurrilous accusations because the purveyors have no credibility. When necessary, we refute them. Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts – not a free society.”

There is a serious effort underway by the Left, Libbers and assorted Socialists, Communists and radical Islamic terror supporters to stifle ANY that oppose Obama, regardless the facts and truth. If you speak against the Obamessiah, you will be dealt with.

And this has only just begun, IF Obama is allowed to become president of this United States, we will see much worse, in the very near future!

Texas homeowner acquitted of killing teen intruder

Texas homeowner acquitted of killing teen intruder

LAREDO, Texas (AP) - A Texas jury acquitted a man accused of killing a boy who broke into his home looking for a snack - a case that sparked outrage in this border city, where many thought the man should not have even been charged.

It took the jury of eight men and four women three hours Friday to find Jose Luis Gonzalez, 63, not guilty of murdering Francisco Anguiano, who was 13 when he and three friends broke into Gonzalez’s trailer to rummage for snacks and soda one night in July 2007.

“I thank God and my attorney, the jury and the judge,” Gonzalez said in Spanish after the verdict. “It was a case where it was my life or theirs, and it’s a very good thing that they (the jurors) decided in my favor.”

Gonzalez said he was sorry for Anguiano’s death, but “it was a situation in which I feared for my life.”

Texas law allows homeowners to use deadly force to protect themselves and their property. In June, a grand jury in Houston cleared a homeowner who shot and killed two burglars outside his neighbor’s house despite the dispatcher’s repeated request that he stay inside his own home.

Texas homeowner acquitted of killing teen intruder

I just love a feel good story, and THIS is a feel good story, unless you’re the burglar.

In Texas, the home owner is King of the Castle, thus the term The Castle Doctrine, and I guess, at some point in time, the bad guys are going to catch on to the fact that here in Texas we not only can, but many of us WILL punch their ticket to hell if they come around doing things that they just shouldn’t be doing.

I know there will be a few folks that read this and say, “Oh my God, that TexasFred guy is one mean, hard-hearted son of a bitch, all those poor boys were doing was looking for snacks and something to drink, surely he wouldn’t just shoot someone down like that”, well, guess again!

You’re right on this part though, I am a mean and hard-hearted son of a bitch if you come breaking into MY house, and I don’t care WHAT time of day or night it is. If a man is hungry or thirsty and he comes to me and says “Fred, I’m hungry man, can you help me out?”, you betcha, the guy is going to get something to eat and drink and anything else we can do to help him out.

But if he breaks in to my house, and tries to steal it from me, he has placed our lives in danger by that act alone, and that is all it takes. If my life or the life of my wife and family is threatened by a home invader, it’s all over, you’ll read it on the blog and see it in the news.

Let me be crystal clear on this, I don’t WANT to shoot anyone, I don’t go out looking for situations that place me in a position of having to shoot, but when circumstance places you in a position of you or them, I vote for ME and MINE every time, and once in a while, the criminal element of this nation leaves you with no other alternative.

I know that some states believe homeowners are supposed to retreat and surrender the home to the criminals, and that deadly force is only to be used as an absolute last resort. Thank GOD I don’t live in one of those states. There are many reasons to love Texas, but our common sense gun laws are the best reasons I can think of right off hand, God Bless Texas!

Pakistan to U.S.: Stay out

September 27th, 2008 . by TexasFred

Pakistan to U.S.: Stay out

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Pakistan warned the U.S. not to stray across the Afghan border into its territory after a gunbattle between the anti-terror allies that was praised by tribesman as a victory against Washington.

As if to underline the point that Pakistan can beat al-Qaeda and Taliban militants without American firepower, a top general said Friday an offensive in another frontier province had killed more than 1,000 suspected insurgents and predicted the region would be “stabilized” within two months.

Still, he also showed reporters photos of militant tunnel systems and trenches in Bajur, suggesting more tough fighting ahead in an area that is considered a likely hiding place for Osama bin Laden and other top al-Qaeda leaders.

The violence that is roiling the Muslim, nuclear-armed nation showed no sign of letting up following last weekend’s truck bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad that killed 53 people.

Pakistan to U.S.: Stay out

I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but Pakistan is NOT our friend, just sayin’.

Pakistan is pretty much harboring al-Qaida and Taliban fighters, Pakistan is a Muslim nation, and radical Islam has sworn to destroy the west if we don’t submit, and the real problem with Pakistan? They have Nukes.

At this time, a nuclear armed Pakistan presents more of a threat to THEIR region of the world than they do to us, and to a normal mindset it would appear that Pakistan’s close neighbors need to address that threat. Here is where it gets sticky, there are only 2 nations in that region that are strong U.S. allies, Israel, India, with Afghanistan viewed as a *friendly* nation, and if something were to happen that removed Hamid Karzai from power, there is NO guarantee that Afghanistan would remain friendly to the U.S.

The remainder of that region is pretty much controlled by radical Islam. Radical Islam is the problem, and until such time that radical Islam is NO MORE, peace will never be a reality in Afghanistan, Pakistan or any other Muslim nation.

To rid the world of radical Islam, a cult that has sworn to kill any that don’t submit, will require actions that the American people just don’t have the fortitude to commit to. We are now a nation that is ruled by the PC police. We are no longer a nation that is willing to fight to win. Winning has been removed from the vocabulary of our children and grand children.

You doubt that? Go to a soccer game and just watch and listen to the PCness that is preached by the liberal coaches and *soccer Mom’s*, listen to the PCness that little Bobby and Johnny are subjected to.

“Did we WIN Mom?” and Mom replies, “Now honey, you know there are NO winners and losers, we’re all participants, and it’s not about winning or losing, it’s all about sharing time with our fellow human beings as we participate in the game of life”…

Radical Islam, PCness and no will to fight, along with some seriously deceptive financial misdealings, will be the death of this nation. And before we can remove the threats that Islam presents, we MUST put our own house in order, and the political buffoons we have in office right now are not going to get that job done!

Is it going to take a woman president to make this nation grow a set of balls again? If so, let’s run Palin as POTUS, she has more leadership experience than Obama, Biden and truthfully, even McCain.

Obama, McCain argue over war, taxes in 1st debate

Obama, McCain argue over war, taxes in 1st debate

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - John McCain accused Barack Obama of compiling “the most liberal voting record in the United States Senate” Friday night in their first debate of a close campaign for the White House. The Democrat shot back, “Mostly that’s just me opposing George Bush’s wrong-headed policies.”

Obama said his Republican rival has been a loyal supporter of the unpopular president across the past eight years, adding that the current economic crisis is “a final verdict on eight years of failed economic policies promoted by President Bush and supported by Sen. McCain.”

The two men clashed over spending, taxes, energy and - at length - the war in Iraq during their 90-minute debate.

McCain accused his younger rival of an “incredible thing of voting to cut off funds for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan,” a reference to legislation that cleared the Senate more than a year ago.

Full Story from AP Here:
Obama, McCain argue over war, taxes in 1st debate

Round 1 is over, and at this particular moment in time I can see no real, discernable difference in the 2 candidates in some respects, and I see massive differences on several issues.

Bushwack, from American and Proud and I were instant messaging during the entire debate, point by point, issue by issue and I have to say, on finance, Obama is not that far off from my line of thought, but when it comes to military and strategic issues I am of the opinion that Obama doesn’t have a clue and that McCain would be the better choice of the 2.

I have long contended that neither is truly the right man for the job, Obama is just too liberal, he is too *elitist*, too socialist and, in MY opinion, too sympathetic to the Muslims and the religion of Islam, I have said, on numerous occasions, that it is MY belief that Obama is as close to the mythical *Manchurian Candidate* as we are likely to ever see. I am, and will remain, firmly convinced that Obama is the terrorists best friend, and that his elevation to the office of President would signal the almost immediate demise of Israel.

I am not convinced that McCain or Obama is the best the RNC and DNC could have offered up to the American voters, but I’m still going to have to back John McCain. For each particular thing that I don’t like about him, there are 5 things I don’t like about Obama. And I am going to be quite honest about my reasons. I think Obama is a tool for the media and radical Islam and I think his choice of Joe Biden as a VP is simply laughable.

McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as his VP running mate has thoroughly impressed me. According to the Dems she is not qualified to take over the reins of the presidency if something were to happen to John McCain but in MY opinion, and in the opinion of many others that know a lot more about politics than I do, many feel that Palin is more qualified than Obama himself, and Palin is running for VP.

McCain was not my 1st choice as POTUS, he wasn’t even in my top 5, but by his choice of Palin as a VP running mate I believe the Republicans are setting up for a massive sweep of conservatism the likes of which this nation has never seen, and folks, if we don’t return to REAL conservatism and embrace a conservative, America 1st attitude, and turn away from the tax and spend and no accountability politics we have had foisted off on us since Ronald Reagan left office, we, as a nation are lost…
