Hutchison ‘pleased’ to have Cheney endorsement

AUSTIN — Former Vice President Dick Cheney is supporting U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in the Texas governor’s race and will formally unveil his endorsement at a Nov. 17 fundraiser in Houston.

“I am so pleased,” Hutchison said on WBAP Radio in Dallas on Wednesday. “I respect the vice president so much. We’ve worked together. He knows my record as a conservative in the Senate.”

Cheney was often depicted as a conservative hard-liner in the Bush administration and, as such, could help boost Hutchison’s support among conservative activists in her bid to unseat Gov. Rick Perry in the March 2 Republican primary.

But Perry’s campaign suggested that the endorsement from a Washington political figure will have little effect in swaying voters in Texas. “It’s not surprising considering they both worked together in Washington for so long,” Perry spokesman Mark Miner said. “The Washington establishment usually sticks together.”

With Dick Cheney endorsing Kay Bailey Hutchison I feel it just further reinforces the belief that SHE (Hutchison) truly is a *Washington Insider*, a RINO, a member of the *club*! And that is NOT what Texas needs. We need Texans that are true Conservatives and not a part of the all too corrupt Washington machine.

There are a lot of folks saying Vote Democrat, and for me, that simply isn’t an option, not at this time, not during the primaries. Possibly, in the BIG election, maybe, but very doubtful. I would do so if Perry were to lose to Hutchison and the Dem candidate presented better credentials as a real Texan, a REAL Conservative and was not tied to Washington.

Hopefully, it won’t come to that choice, hopefully we will have a choice between Rick Perry and the other guy.

RINOs, Republicans In Name Only, have given this nation, and the GOP away. They have become nothing more than a different version of the Democrats, Dem Lite if you will. RINOs must be banished, forever banished from the GOP if the GOP is going to resurrect itself and become a real, viable and believable force in American politics again.

RINOs, people like Hutchison and John Cornyn, can’t be allowed to keep on representing Texas, we’re NOT RINOs, were Texans, and we’re CONSERVATIVES.

Cheney endorsing Hutchison carries about as much credibility as Sarah Palin endorsing Rick Perry. Palin is popular on many fronts with desperate GOP members. They see her as some sort of SAVIOUR, a Joan of Arc, some type of Knight in shining armor and they feel she’s going to save the GOP from themselves.

I said all I need to say about the credibility Palin carries when I wrote this piece: Sarah Palin – An American Quitter.

Palin QUIT on Alaska, I don’t care how many ways her fans try to use semantics to justify her actions, she QUIT and that’s all there is to it. That is why she has NO credibility with me. She couldn’t take the heat and she bolted for the door. Suppose she QUITS on America too? She very possibly could.

I’m a hard core POLITICAL blogger. I AM a right wing Conservative. I’m NOT politically correct and have no plan on becoming so. I am highly opinionated and my opinions are not easily changed, and NEVER are they for sale.

Afghan Taliban already outnumbered 12-1

Afghan Taliban already outnumbered 12-1

BRUSSELS - There are already more than 100,000 international troops in Afghanistan working with 200,000 Afghan security forces and police. It adds up to a 12-1 numerical advantage over Taliban rebels, but it hasn’t led to anything close to victory.

Now, the top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan is asking for tens of thousands more troops to stem the escalating insurgency, raising the question of how many more troops it would take to succeed.

The commander, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, says the extra forces are needed to implement a new strategy that focuses on protecting civilians and depriving the militants of popular support in a country where tribal militias may be Taliban today and farmers tomorrow.

Many question need for more troops
The White House said Tuesday that President Barack Obama has nearly finished gathering information and advice on how to proceed in Afghanistan, where bombings killed eight more American troops. With October now the deadliest month for U.S. forces in the war, many experts question the need for more troops.

Afghan Taliban already outnumbered 12-1

I have an idea regarding a way to get all of this BS in Afghanistan settled. It’s kind of complicated, so pay real close attention.

Let’s take the gloves off. Let our troops DO what it is they are sent to do and remove these ridiculous ROEs (Rules of Engagement) that are getting them maimed and killed.

“The U.S. and its allies already have ample numbers and firepower to annihilate the Taliban, if only the Taliban would cooperate by standing still and allowing us to bomb them to smithereens,” said Andrew Bacevich, a professor of international relations and history at Boston University, and one-time platoon leader in Vietnam.

“But the insurgents are conducting the war in ways that do not play to (allied) strengths.”

Enemies are kinda funny that way, and unless they are really stupid, they will do whatever it takes to attain their goal and achieve victory. The Taliban is going to fight the U.S. and NATO forces in a manner that suits them, not us. Anyone that has ever studied strategy and tactics knows, if at all possible, you always engage your enemy at a time and place of your choice, with superior forces, and from the battle position of your choice. In other words, hit them from the high ground. Anyone that’s ever served, and many that haven’t know exactly what I am talking about.

That’s NOT how it’s working out for us in Afghanistan.

We are saddled with ROEs that our enemies are not burdened with. We are forced to fight in the most civilized manner possible. We are forced to account for every round of ammo spent. Our pilots have to engage in the most precise bombing runs imaginable. The Afghan government goes absolutely berserk if our air forces drop a bomb on a Taliban target and there is ANY, and I do mean ANY collateral damage incurred. Collateral damage being the unintended deaths of those believed, at some point in time, to NOT be Taliban, or Taliban supporters.

The Taliban, much like al-Qaida in Iraq, is more than well aware of the rules our troops are forced to fight under, and they use those rules against us in any way they can.

I can offer no hard evidence, but it is said, highly suspected actually, that the Taliban *seeds* a bombing site with bodies that are obviously civilian in order to turn the tide of the MEDIA war. It’s called propaganda and the Taliban are masters at it’s use.

Abortion foe urges ‘Burn in Hell’ protest

Abortion foe urges ‘Burn in Hell’ protest

WASHINGTON (AP) - Anti-abortion activist Randall Terry is calling on people to burn effigies of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid this Halloween, as part of a “Burn in Hell” video contest to protest the health care legislation in Congress.

Terry, founder of Operation Rescue, said Tuesday that the contest serves as a political and spiritual statement that “gives people a chance to peacefully vent their rage.”

“If Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid force us to pay for child killing and they die unrepentant, they will burn in hell for this,” Terry said in a telephone interview.

But House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., called the contest “unfortunate.”

“I don’t think appealing to people’s anger and in effect inciting them to acts which either display or in any way project violent acts is consistent with rational discussion of very critical issues,” Hoyer told reporters.

Abortion foe urges ‘Burn in Hell’ protest

I have been anti-abortion all of my life. As a youngster it was a part of my Catholic raising. Now, years later, I have long since left the Catholic church, but I am still as anti-abortion as I ever was. Not because of some religious ideology, but simply because it’s WRONG.

If it takes getting people angry, if it takes burning an effigy of pro-abortionists, if it take burning down abortion clinics, whatever it takes, the message has to be spread. Abortion kills the innocent. ALL abortions kills an innocent victim, late term abortions kill a viable human being!

Recently, one of my daughters was very sick, all of my regular readers know about it. She was also a bit under 6 months pregnant. Her baby was taken by C-section, almost 13 weeks early. That is an acceptable time frame for late term abortion.

My daughter in law was also pregnant at the same time, she was having some serious health issues and the baby was being affected by his mothers illness. For the safety of both mother and child, her baby was delivered 5 weeks early by C-section. Again, a delivery well within the acceptable parameters and definition for a late term abortion.

Both babies are alive and quite well. They are home now, as are their mothers, and they are doing all the things any other newborn baby does.

Below are pictures of my grandsons, Austin and Carson! They are 1st cousins and I am trusting in the hope and belief that they too will be raised to do what is RIGHT, not necessarily what is popular! Thank God I am an anti-abortionist. Thank God that my children and their spouses are as anti-abortion as I am! It truly is all in the raising.

I also know that there are pro-abortion people out there that are against the death penalty. That seriously blows my mind, it’s a concept I just can’t grasp. For them, it’s OK to MURDER a baby. It’s not OK to execute a heinous criminal that has brought death and destruction down on others. In my opinion, that is some serious lunacy.

Look at the picture of my 2 new grandsons. Look at the picture of ANY baby or child and ask yourself, in ALL honesty, WHAT did that baby or child do to deserve to be murdered? And then have the guts to answer yourself honestly!

Whatever it takes! That’s how far I am willing to go in an effort to stop abortion on demand. If that makes me some kind of radical rightwing extremist in the eyes of abortion supporters, then I am PROUD to wear the name!

Iraqis angry at security lapse in deadly bombings

Iraqis angry at security lapse in deadly bombings

BAGHDAD (AP) - Iraqis vented anger Monday at a major security lapse that allowed two suicide truck bombers to penetrate what was supposed to be one of Baghdad’s safest areas, killing 155 people, including 24 children leaving a daycare center.

Sunday’s twin suicide blasts in the heart of the capital targeting the Justice Ministry and the Baghdad Provincial Administration were the worst attacks in more than two years. They raised fears about Iraq’s ability to protect itself as it prepares for January elections and the U.S. military withdrawal.

The children who were killed were on a bus leaving a daycare center near the Justice Ministry when the attack occurred, said an official at the hospital where the bodies were brought. A police official confirmed the death toll and said the bus driver was also killed and six children injured. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

Baghdad’s top security officials brought reinforcements to guard government institutions Monday and blocked streets around the capital, acting on intelligence suggesting such buildings could be the militants’ next target, Maj. Gen. Qassim al-Moussawi, a spokesman for the city’s operations command center told The Associated Press.

Iraqis angry at security lapse in deadly bombings

When Saddam Hussein was running Iraq, you never heard of anything like these bombings happening. Maybe they DID happen and the Iraqi news was controlled to the point that the word never got out. In any case, you never heard of it happening. And the Iraqi people were unhappy.

Saddam was a brutal and sadistic dictator, he was merciless when dealing with his enemies. And the Iraqi people were unhappy.

When Saddam was fighting a war with Iran, the Iraqi people were unhappy.

When Saddam was killing the Kurds in Northern Iraq he was hailed as a murderous SOB along the lines of Hitler. And the Iraqi people were unhappy.

When Saddam was kicked out of Kuwait by American and coalition forces, the Iraqi people were unhappy.

When American forces were enforcing a No-Fly zone in an effort to protect the Kurds, the Iraqi people were unhappy.

When American troops entered Iraq in the ill-named Operation Iraqi Freedom, thousands of Iraqis, military and civilian were killed. And the Iraqi people were unhappy.

When Saddam was captured, many Iraqi people were unhappy.

When Saddam was hanged for his crimes against humanity, many Iraqi people were unhappy.

When the U.S. army was patrolling the streets of Baghdad and other major Iraqi cities, the Iraqi people were unhappy.

When Nouri al-Maliki was elected as Prime Minister, many Iraqi people were unhappy.

When the U.S. forces began their draw down, some were ecstatic, but many of the Iraqi people were unhappy.

When the suicide/homicide bombers continued to kill Iraqis, even though those attacks could no longer be blamed on bombing directed against American troops, the Iraqi people were unhappy.

I don’t know about you, but I seen a pattern of unhappiness in the Iraqi people. No matter what happens in Iraq, they are unhappy.

Maybe it’s time to bring our troops, contractors and money HOME. Let the Iraqis find their own level of happiness, in their own way, in their own time. And who knows, maybe my predeiction of a Saddam like replacement surfacing may come to fruition. I have believed that for a long time, as soon as we’re gone, a new dictatorship comes in.
