McCain says he and Obama should visit Iraq together

May 27th, 2008 (21 hours ago) . by TexasFred

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Republican John McCain on Monday sharply criticized Democratic rival Barack Obama for not having been to Iraq since 2006, and said they should visit the war zone together.

“Look at what happened in the last two years since Senator Obama visited and declared the war lost,” the GOP presidential nominee-in-waiting told The Associated Press in an interview, noting that the Illinois senator’s last trip to Iraq came before the military buildup that is credited with curbing violence.

“He really has no experience or knowledge or judgment about the issue of Iraq and he has wanted to surrender for a long time,” the Arizona senator added. “If there was any other issue before the American people, and you hadn’t had anything to do with it in a couple of years, I think the American people would judge that very harshly.”

McCain, a Navy veteran and Vietnam prisoner of war, frequently argues that he’s the most qualified candidate to be a wartime commander in chief. In recent weeks, he has sought portray Obama, a first-term senator, as naive on foreign policy and not experienced enough to lead the military.

McCain says he and Obama should visit Iraq together

McCain said ‘they should visit the war zone together’, to which Hillary said Oh HELL YES!!’..

You see, if anything happens to Obama, she’s the chosen one, and a shoe-in for the DNC nomination, but if something happened to McCain I have to ask, and quite honestly wonder, what would the RNC do for a candidate at this late stage of the game??

I’m going to say something that may surprise a few of you, John McCain is quite likely the most qualified to be Commander in Chief, at least among the current crop, but look at who he’s running against, a female Senator who’s most notable claim to fame is that she’s the wife of an impeached ex-president, and a Junior Senator from Illinois who’s only claim to fame is, uh, wait, I’m thinking, uh, does Obama even have a claim to fame??

To say you’re the most qualified of this bunch is a lot like saying you’re the smartest kid on the short bus, and yeah, I DO think of Kender when I think of ‘The Short Bus’, and the routine we did on Wide Awakes Radio

“I go back every few months because things are changing in Iraq,” he said. McCain questioned whether Obama has ever been briefed by Petraeus. “I would also seize that opportunity to educate Senator Obama along the way.”

I have to ask this of Sen. McCain, why would you want to educate Obama regarding Iraq?? Do you honestly think he’s going to believe you and accept your word as truth?? I seriously doubt it, and those questions make me want to ask this as well, suppose Obama DID listen, and came out all of a sudden as a hard line campaigner that was pro war in Iraq, pro troops, pro victory and drew a line in the sand concerning Iran??

If he did, he’d be pandering, and we all know it, but he’d kick your ass all over the polls and the election would be much in doubt, I’d be very careful about educating Obama, he’s a lot of things but he’s not stupid, and he’ll pick up any trick you throw at him…

I HATE Conservatives - A Moonbat Exposed

May 24th, 2008 . by TexasFred

This piece presents some excerpts from a post made on a blog called The Pink Flamingo,
There is Nothing Wrong With Being A Conservative or a Republican, the title of the original post is very deceptive, the story is nothing more than a name calling tirade that bashes Conservatives and blames them for everything that ever went wrong in America and the GOP, much similar to a rant that was delivered by Jeremiah Wright recently…

The Pink Flamingo is also the owner of the blogroll I Vote The Elephant

Read the post, here and on the original site, make up your own mind, but as for me, when I am called names and personally referenced as manipulative and incestuous, I tend to take exception to those actions, if you are a REAL Conservative, I hope you do too…

I am known as a cynical, conservative “hating” witch with a “B”. It is true, I no longer trust anything with a “conservative brand”. I am am angry with these people for having infiltrated and destroyed much of my beloved GOP.

Here’s a little TRUTH you seem to have overlooked, no one destroyed your beloved Republican Party except the Republican Party itself…

Conservatives are what remains of the once decent Reagan Republicans, the Conservatives didn’t leave the Republican party, the Republican party became a perverted version of Dem-Lite and left them…

We have been treated to all the doom and gloom in the world. The Republican party is dead. The electorate is furious. Voters are mad as you know what. Republicans have lost their way. Conservatives have had it. George Bush has destroyed the GOP. The GOP has destroyed itself. Conservatives have destroyed the GOP.

Having a bit of trouble staying on topic or are you just having a hard time with the assignment of blame?? Bush did it?? Conservatives did it?? A.D.D. much?? Desperation for someone to blame maybe?? Try looking in the mirror…

George Bush is about as much of a conservative as I am a communist, Bush is in the pocket of Globalism and One World Government, and he was the best the GOP had to offer for 2 elections in a row, and even as big a dumbass as Bush is, he was still the lesser of the evils, both times, and now we’re about to get saddled with John McCain, same song, different verse, but that’ the fault of the Conservatives too I guess…

It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the Republican Party literally turned it’s back on Fred Thompson, Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter did it?? Men that are fine examples of what true Conservatism looks like, and what the GOP used to represent…

So, right now we’re up to probably close to a million individuals who are conservative but are not Republican. These people are loud. They are obnoxious, and they know how to use modern technology to accomplish their goals, primarily being to rid the US of Hispanics and illegal immigrants.

I don’t know where you get your figures, but I think there are quite a few more Conservatives out there than your delusional mind imagines, and I see you have mentioned the desire of the Conservative of the USA to stop ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, do I detect a veiled reference to that being some sort of a bad thing??

These are the “conservative” movers and shakers. They are the ones who tell conservatives how to vote, who to hate, and where to send their money. World Net Daily is the very worst offender of the bunch. The “publication” is little more than a prevaricating grocery store check-out tabloid. The problem is people believe it. The next biggest offender is NewsMax Tom Tancredo Lou Dobbs Federation for American Immigration Reform FAIR - the power behind much of the “conservative” movement today.

And right here is where you lost any and ALL support from me, yes, I did cut you and your blogroll off, I Vote the Elephant, do you expect me to sit back and listen to this drivel as you bash Conservatives for everything that YOU perceive to be wrong with the GOP and still support you??

Not gonna happen Cindy, and I am about to send out a plea to the members of I Vote the Elephant and ask any that consider themselves to be the Conservative that YOU hate with such a passion, to dump your roll and to email you telling you they have done so, with this post as a reference…

So, now the good Conservatives of this nation can see what YOU think of them, and see the way you have used them, people that you KNEW were real and sincere Conservatives, the people that you used to build your blogroll, promote your site and help it to grow in the blog world…

Have you seen what I see? There are ever so many organizations and so very few people. Yep, this whole tawdry affair is being manipulated by an incestuous hand-full of people.

Incestuous?? You hurl that kind of nasty insult, knowing fully well what it implies, and still expect anyone to support you?? I am seriously thinking that YOU have lost your mind…

Perhaps the best thing that could happen to the GOP is to jettison the whole “conservative” word an go back to the word “Republican”. It is time we end the manipulation of conservatives who are doing little more than advancing their own personal agendas and their own personal quest for power and for money. Their reign of terror needs to come to an end before they doom the GOP into a minority status - forever. You can always tell who you are dealing with because of a few traits: 1. Hatred of George W. Bush 2. Hard line immigration reform 3. An adoption of a few conspiracy theories 4. An an over-use of the word “American” “Freedom” - this sort of thing

Start reading the fine print. You will find all of these people are somehow connected - and that’s where it gets ugly. They allow people like Michelle Malkin, Peter Brimelow, VDare to exist because they are doing all the dirty work. It’s sad really. John McCain is their next target.

And I think it’s time for the Republican party to return to it’s former level of sanity and embrace true Conservatism, otherwise, the GOP is up a creek with no paddle, and it’s moonbats like you that make it glaringly apparent…

John McCain isn’t even a good representative of the Republican party, much less any kind of Conservative, he’s nothing more than an angry little old man that deserves the title RINO, and here’s something you really need to ponder very carefully, a Republican can’t get elected as dog catcher anywhere in this nation if the Conservatives that you so passionately hate don’t support him or her…

You have personally described your blog as having the look of having been ‘designed by a 12 year old on acid’, I’m starting to think that it’s authored by one too, enjoy this Cindy, it’s the last time you’ll get any linkage from me and my site…

Cindy, I know you have removed TexasFred from your rapidly diminishing roll, thank you, I appreciate it, now please remove Reject the U.N. as well, I have removed I Vote the Elephant from the side bar of that blog, Reject the U.N. is a team effort, but I own it and I wish to have nothing more to do with you, your blog and blogroll…

And one other thing Cindy, I have a screen shot, an exact and precise copy of your words in my files, you know, just in case you decide to try and do something silly, like edit or delete the story…

Clinton cites Kennedy assassination in primaries

May 23rd, 2008 . by TexasFred

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Sen. Hillary Clinton referred Friday to the assassination of Robert Kennedy in 1968 Democratic campaign as a reason she should continue to campaign despite increasingly long odds.

Clinton was responding to a question from the Sioux Falls Argus Leader editorial board about calls for her to drop out of the race.

“My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don’t understand it,” she said, dismissing the idea of dropping out.

Clinton cites Kennedy assassination in primaries

OK, I know I’m not the only one that has ever noticed this, people that Hillary doesn’t like seem to have a strange way of disappearing, several sites have made detailed lists of this phenomenon, here’s the 1st two that a quick Google search turned up, Clinton Body Count and Clinton Death List, and yeah, I know, there will be many that feel it’s just a tin-foil hat theory, but did Hillary just give the ‘warning rattle’ before the strike??

If I was Barack, I’d be a bit nervous too, this is one time I can understand his people making a bit of noise over a political statement made by an opponent, after all, even I feel that he was the brunt of this statement…

Obama has SEVERAL things working against him in today’s political climate, he’s almost, kinda sorta black, he has 3 Muslim names, he was initially raised in an Islamic lifestyle and educated in Islamic schools, and his allegiance to the USA is an area of doubt for many people, that in itself would tend to make me think he would be a prime target for assassins, and a statement like that just uttered by Hillary Clinton, well hell, I’d be nervous too…

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton quickly apologized Friday after citing the 1968 assassination of Robert F. Kennedy as a reason to remain in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination despite increasingly long odds.

“I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation and in particular the Kennedy family was in any way offensive. I certainly had no intention of that whatsoever,” the former first lady said.

The episode occurred as Clinton campaigned in advance of the June 3 South Dakota primary.

Clinton apologies for Kennedy remark

And as quickly as she said it, her handlers realized the gravity of her off the cuff reference and an apology was immediately put issued…

Just taking a shot in the dark here, no pun intended, but I am guessing that the conversation went something like this, “Damn it Senator, do you realize that you just opened up a whole can of worms?? If something happens to that, that son of a, uh sorry, uh, to Obama, you’re gonna look really bad“…

Great choice of words there Sen. Clinton, a fine example of your ability to think on the run…

An ever optimistic political pundit that I know was talking to one of his cohorts a few minutes ago and said, “The MSM asked Vince Foster for a comment but Mr. Foster is not available at this time …

Sen. Edward Kennedy has malignant brain tumor

May 20th, 2008 . by TexasFred

BOSTON (AP) - A cancerous brain tumor caused the seizure Sen. Edward M. Kennedy suffered over the weekend, doctors said Tuesday in a grim diagnosis for one of American politics’ most enduring figures. “He remains in good spirits and full of energy,” the doctors for the 76-year-old Massachusetts Democrat said in a statement.

They said tests conducted after the seizure showed a tumor in Kennedy’s left parietal lobe. Preliminary results from a biopsy of the brain identified the cause of the seizure as a malignant glioma, they said.

His treatment will be decided after more tests but the usual course includes combinations of radiation and chemotherapy.

Kennedy has been hospitalized in Boston since Saturday, when he was airlifted from Cape Cod after a seizure at his home.

“He has had no further seizures, remains in good overall condition, and is up and walking around the hospital,” said the statement by Dr. Lee Schwamm, vice chairman of the Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Dr. Larry Ronan, Kennedy’s primary care physician.

They said Kennedy will remain in the hospital “for the next couple of days according to routine protocol.”

Kennedy’s wife and children have been with him each day since he was hospitalized. Senator Kennedy’s son, Rep. Patrick Kennedy, D-R.I., plans to stay at the hospital for the time being.

“Do we operate under a system of equal justice under law? Or is there one system for the average citizen and another for the high and mighty?” ~ Senator Ted Kennedy, 1973

I wonder, when the hallucinations set in, and they will, I wonder if Sen. Kennedy will ask that question of Mary Jo Kopechne, will he use that as his justification for her death??

I am sure there will be a reckoning, and a time when Kennedy answers for that incident in his near future…

Mary Jo Kopechne (July 26, 1940 – July 18, 1969) was an American teacher, secretary and administrator, notable for her death in a car accident on Chappaquiddick Island in a car driven by Senator Ted Kennedy. SOURCE

So, here we go again, just like last weekend, the MSM has a bleeding heart story to flood the airwaves with, even FOX News, all of them, they are singing the praises of Ted Kennedy as if he were being Canonized, and ya know, that wouldn’t surprise me either, knowing the desperation of his followers for another idol to worship…

In all the ballyhoo being spewed by the MSM I have yet to hear them call him a murderer, a drunk, a womanizer, and adulterer, an abortion supporting liberal or any of that, he’s getting a free pass from ALL of them, and he’s not even dead yet, I wonder what we’ll hear when that takes place??

Excuse me if I can’t offer up any sympathy for Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, I despised him in life and I will not denigrate myself by becoming a hypocrite as his death approaches…

NBC News is asked to set record straight on ‘deceitful’ editing

May 20th, 2008 . by TexasFred

NEW YORK - The White House on Monday called on NBC News to set the record straight on “deceitful” editing of an interview with President Bush, in which correspondent Richard Engel asks whether comments about the president of Iran were directed at Barack Obama.

Bush aides were angered by how the president’s answer was portrayed when Engel questioned him about his condemnation of “the false comfort of appeasement” in an address last week to the Israeli Knesset. NBC stood by its treatment of the interview Monday.

Bush had mentioned the president of Iran in his speech and said: “Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along.”

Obama’s campaign considered that statement an attack on him, which the White House has denied.

Engel asked Bush if he was referring to Obama in his speech.

As it appeared on “Nightly News” Sunday and the “Today” show Monday, Bush’s response was: “You know, my policies haven’t changed, but evidently the political calendar has … And when, you know, a leader of Iran says that they want to destroy Israel, you’ve got to take those words seriously.”

But the White House said NBC edited out these words that Bush said between those two sentences: “People need to read the speech. You didn’t get it exactly right, either. What I said was that we need to take the words of people seriously.”

See the full text of the White House letter

Full Story Here:
Complaint over Bush interview edit

I think most people that read here already know, I’m not a big fan of George Bush, I have never been a big fan of the guy, I think he’s a very ineffectual president, I think he took the wrong course when he took us to Iraq and there have been more than a few things said about his love of ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, but when Bush speaks, you don’t have to edit it to get some kind of different message out there, and when the man is right, when I feel he’s right, I will come to his defense, and this time, I feel he’s very right…

If the MSM had their way, Obama would be in the process of coronation, he is the darling of the left leaning media, and yeah, I do include NBC in that group, what the MSM needs to realize it this, it’s not their job to make the news, it’s not their job to interpret the news, their job is to report the news, exactly as it happened, the guy on the anchor desk isn’t a political analyst, he’s a talking head, most reporters are as dumb as a box of rocks and the guys in the editing room have no business editing out anything that isn’t beneath standards, regardless of who says it…

I am all for 1st amendment rights, I exercise mine here daily, but I don’t re-write the news, I use their story, exactly as it’s written, and then I add my perspective to it in the form of commentary, and if that were what NBC had done, reported exactly what the president had said, and then thrown in their commentary, with the caveat that it was commentary, then they did nothing wrong…

If they deliberately edited the words of the president to make it appear that he said something he didn’t, or to make their readers perceive his words in a way that was totally different than the specific intent, then NBC needs to ‘man up’ and admit they were wrong, change the story back to it’s original content and issue a very public apology to the White House, the nation and to President Bush…

Obama tells Tenn.’s GOP: ‘Lay off my wife’

May 19th, 2008 . by TexasFred

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama has a message for Tennessee’s Republican Party: “Lay off my wife.”

Obama, his party’s presidential front-runner, and his wife, Michelle, were asked in an interview aired Monday on ABC’s “Good Morning America” about an online video last week by the state’s GOP taking her to task for a comment some considered unpatriotic.

“The GOP, should I be the nominee, can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record,” Obama said. “If they think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful because that I find unacceptable, the notion that you start attacking my wife or my family.”

He called the strategy “low class.”

The video, posted on YouTube, centered on remarks Michelle Obama made while campaigning in Wisconsin last February, when she said: “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country.”

The four-minute video replayed the remark six times, interspersing it with commentary by Tennesseans on why they are proud of America. In a news release that included a link to the video, Tennessee’s GOP said “the Tennessee Republican Party has always been proud of America.” It urged radio stations to play “patriotic music” during Michelle Obama’s visit to Nashville last Thursday.

To Sen. Barak Obama: Screw off crybaby!!

If she opens her mouth on the campaign trail, she’s fair game, if she places herself in a position that opens her to criticism, she’s fair game, if you can’t handle it, put your ‘big boy britches’ on, stop crying and tell the ugly old bat to keep her mouth shut, in other words, get used it…

Join us or die, drug kingpins warn Mexican police

May 18th, 2008 . by TexasFred

CIUDAD JUAREZ, MEXICO — Drug cartels are sending a brutal message to police and soldiers in cities across Mexico: Join us or die.

The threat appears in recruiting banners hung across roadsides and in publicly posted death lists. Cops get warnings over their two-way radios. At least four high-ranking police officials were gunned down this month, including Mexico’s acting federal police chief.

Mexico has battled for years to clean up its security forces and win them the public’s respect. But Mexicans generally assume police and even soldiers are corrupt until proven otherwise, and the honest ones lack resources, training and the assurance that their colleagues are watching their backs. Here, the taboo on cop-killing familiar to Americans seems hardly to apply.

Police who take on the cartels feel isolated and vulnerable when they become targets, as did 22 commanders in the border city of Ciudad Juarez when drug traffickers named them on a handwritten death list left at a monument to fallen police this year. It was addressed to “those who still don’t believe” in the power of the cartels.

Of the 22, seven have been killed and three wounded in assassination attempts. Of the others, all but one have quit, and city officials said he didn’t want to be interviewed.

On Sunday, city spokesman Sergio Belmonte confirmed that Juarez’s police chief had submitted his resignation and said he would be replaced by a military official on leave from the armed forces.

Full Story Here:
Join us or die, drug kingpins warn Mexican police

I think that most anyone that has read my blog for very long knows exactly how I feel about Mexico and our unsecured border, I have made no secret of the fact that I have no use for Mexico, it’s citizens or it’s ineffectual army and police, and I really have a problem with the ILLEGAL INVASION that this nation is suffering, so, I am not going to preach on those topics this time, I’m going to give them a bit of rest…

What I’m wanting to do right now is ask a few questions, I hope I get some serious answers:

1. Given the candidates in the running at this time, does your choice for the office of the presidency support a strong and secure border??

2. Does that choice support strong and effective enforcement of the immigration laws of this nation??

3. Does that choice have a viable plan to stop this Mexican drug cartel BS from spilling over the border into our nation??

If you’re supporting John McCain, Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton, then the answer is a resounding NO!! Just sayin’…

Are we going to once again settle for appeasers, amnesty supporters, gun grabbers and those that would give the United States of America away in support of a North American Union??

We deserve a lot better America, but we have to take a hard stand and demand that we get that better and stronger government that we should have, we have to demand that the parties run a much higher quality candidate than we are seeing now, we have to demand that the candidates have some real qualifications and not just a great presentation of speech, we can’t just sit back and accept whatever the RNC, the DNC and the MSM tells us is best for us…

We must lose the apathy that has spread over our land, it’s time to think about what’s best for America and who will lead this nation back to the greatness that we, all of us, once took for granted, and we must never again settle for what is perceived to be the lesser of the evils…

And one last question, what are YOU prepared to do, you personally, if this violence does spill over the border and threatens our towns, our homes, our citizens and our way of life??
