Barack Obama and the War on Terror

Barack Obama and the War on Terror

If Obama were to stop some of the Dem/Libber BS with the Porkulous rhetoric, he would match up to many reasonable people in his beliefs concerning the battles in Iraq and Afghanistan,
Anti-war lawmakers worry over plan for Afghanistan.

Obama appears to support the efforts in Afghanistan, “After campaigning on the promise to end one war, President Barack Obama is preparing to escalate another” and I personally know that feeling, the criticism, the being called names by the Bush Bots because of my massive disagreement with the actions we took in Iraq. Afghanistan is still a theater that needs to be pursued, but after the initial focus on Afghanistan was lost by our former POTUS, due to his obvious A.D.D. and the need to vindicate himself in *Daddy’s* eyes, Afghanistan is NOT the primary target any longer. Terror organizations have re-evaluated their operations and have diversified their theater of operations.

We are still losing troops in the War on Terror, 2 U.S. soldiers killed in Afghanistan but Afghanistan IS, well, WAS the War on Terror. Iraq had NO part in that war until George W. Bush made them a part of it. Our own Senate, Congress and Dept. of Defense, as well as the CIA and other Intelligence organizations made reports to the American people verifying the fact that Saddam and Iraq were NOT engaged in terror attacks against the USA and had NO part in the attacks of 9-11, Bush admitted that he took us to Iraq under what can only be called bad information. I have never had so much as one word to say against the efforts in Afghanistan, that WAS the right place, the right people and the right time.

There are many errors being made in this War on Terror, Bush made his fair share, Obama is well on the way to eclipsing Bush in the error department, Obama preparing order to close Gitmo. Those preparations have become orders and I am fully convinced that Obama is making one of the most critical errors of his fledgling presidency.

Obama has made NO secret of the fact that he wishes to engage in open dialog with the enemies of this nation, Biden Says US Willing to Talk to Iran. One thing I feel that must be pointed out, you negotiate from a position of strength, not desperation. Iran is directly responsible for many, if not MOST of the deaths we have suffered in Iraq, over 4,200 U.S. service personnel to date. I have a serious issue in negotiating with the powers that caused those deaths. Unless we are negotiating their unconditional surrender.

The focus of the War on Terror needs to be re-evaluated too I believe, Yemen releases 170 al-Qaida suspects, Yemen is where the U.S.S. Cole was bombed. Yemen is the hotbed of al-Qaida activity at present, organization and planning. Yemen isn’t the only place either, al-Qaida, by many different names, is active all over the world. The men that Yemen released were freed Friday and Saturday after signing pledges not to engage in terrorism. Is there anyone that actually believes that these guys are going to honor that pledge?

When you capture a terrorist, and for some odd reason you decide to release that terrorist after a period of time, you can be nearly 100% assured that he WILL return to his former occupation, terrorism. That is something that Obama just doesn’t seem to understand. I get the feeling that Obama has some childlike TRUST in the word of these people, that he has a belief that they will abide by the words they use to obtain their freedom, or, in the recently witnessed actions in Palestine, where Hamas begged for a truce only because they needed a break to re-arm and re-supply.

There are many difficulties in the War on Terror. We don’t fight an organized army, a uniformed army. An enemy fighter is a combatant one minute, then they hide their rifle and instantly become an innocent civilian, one that has MUCH public relations value to al-Jazeera and other Pro-Arab and terrorist supporting networks if they are killed. That statement is well illustrated in this story,
Afghan arrested after Guantanamo release, a case of a former detainee being re-arrested and the frustration is showing, for us as well as the Afghan people.

“We are fed up,” says Ishaq Gailani, a member of President Hamid Karzai’s government. “Bagram is full of these people who are wrongly accused. They arrest everyone — a 15-year-old boy and a 61-year-old man. They arrest them because they run away from their helicopters…I would run away too if I saw them. They don’t know who is the terrorist and who is not.”

I don’t know what the Obama administration is going to actually do, I don’t think even THEY know themselves. I do know this, TALK isn’t going to get the job done. Catch and release is great if you’re fishing but it isn’t a great way to conduct combat operations, you only end up catching the same fish, over and over again.

Once the Obama administration realizes that, perhaps they will figure out a way to prosecute the War on Terror as it MUST be done, and find a way to punish those that keep this WAR going, the Princes of The Religion of Peace, the Islamic terrorists that refuse to accept anything other than submission to them or death to their enemies, these ANIMALS of Islam that refuse to allow this world to live in peace

Obama: The 1st Week

January 26th, 2009 . by TexasFred

OK, lets just take a look at these 3 headlines and examine the Obamanation and try to make some sense of his actions.

US envoy predicts ‘direct diplomacy’ with Iran

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - President Barack Obama’s administration will engage in “direct diplomacy” with Iran, the newly installed U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said Monday.

Obama targets greenhouse gases, fuel efficiency

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama took aim Monday at the lofty but long elusive goal of making the nation more energy independent, ordering reviews that could lead to tougher auto emission standards in states and higher pressure on automakers to produce more fuel-efficient cars.

Obama is going to engage in talks with Iran? Or, more accurately, he’s going to have an ambassador talk to Iran? That seems to be his plan for the rest of the *war on terror* too, Obama wants to talk em to death. I am of the opinion that this BS isn’t going to work, the terrorists, and Iran IS a sponsor of terrorism, don’t want talk, they want DEATH, our death.

Iran is responsible for much of the weaponry that went into killing our troops during the heavy action in Iraq. I don’t suppose that matters to someone like Obama, he doesn’t have any use for our troops, other than as a tool to enforce HIS orders, when those orders come down. And they will!

The Dems, as a whole, see the solution to the recession as this, dump MORE taxpayer dollars on it. If you throw money at it, it’s all going to be OK as long as we throw money in that general direction. The 1st stimulus didn’t do it, another stimulus isn’t going to do it, and all the Wall Street bailouts and the rescue of the auto makers is going to do is allow them the belief that all they need to do is ask. Ask, and insinuate that you’re going to go out of business if the taxpayers don’t pony up again. And again. And again. Ad infinitum!

Then we get to the *greenhouse gas* thing from *The One*. Obama drank the Algore koolaid, that is a requirement for ALL Dem/Libbers I guess. Nearly ALL Conservatives believe that global warming is a hoax and the recent BS spewed by *The Goreacle* is just that, BS. The only thing I don’t understand is this, why wasn’t *The Goreacle* named as a member of the Obamanation cabinet? Dare *The One* shun *The Goreacle*? Naming Algore to his cabinet would be a logical progression if you think about it. Obama is running more than a few Clinton retreads.

He wants to *talk* to those that have either directly or indirectly brought about the deaths of over 4,200 U.S. troops. He wants to continue the bailouts of the automakers, and God only knows who else. He perpetuates the global warming myth. He orders Guantanamo closed and he nominates a disgusting tax cheat as head of Treasury, a nomination that has passed by the way. And just think, that’s all within the 1st WEEK!! Next week should be a real adventure!

Obama rides the rails to DC for inaugural kickoff

Obama rides the rails to DC for inaugural kickoff

WASHINGTON (AP) - Invoking hope and history, President-elect Barack Obama rolled into the capital city Saturday night after pledging to help bring the nation “a new Declaration of Independence” and promising to rise to the stern challenges of the times. He kicked off a four-day inaugural celebration with a daylong rail trip, retracing the path Abraham Lincoln took in 1861.

“Invoking hope and history”?? I just hope we don’t BECOME history!! As in GONE, all in one fell swoop! Obama keeps making references to history that are ‘an echo of Lincoln’s first inaugural address’, I don’t know that I would want to invoke anything from Old Abe, history reminds us, that administration didn’t end well.

Palestinians in Gaza, Israel agree to cease-fire

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) - Militants in Hamas-ruled Gaza agreed Sunday to a weeklong cease-fire with Israel, after three weeks of violence that Palestinian medics say has killed more than 1,000 people and turned Gaza’s streets into battlegrounds.

Hamas has agreed to a week long cease-fire simply because that is the time they need to re-arm and re-supply. Not to mention the fact that a week from now Hamas will have a supporter in the Oval Office. Israel needs to strike NOW, this time next week they may well have NO support in Washington, D.C.

S. Korea on alert after North’s military threat

SEOUL (AP) — South Korea said its army remained on alert Sunday, a day after North Korea threatened military action in response to Seoul’s hard-line stance against its communist regime.

The latest harsh rhetoric from the isolated regime appeared aimed at heightening tensions on the divided peninsula and could be a test for Barack Obama days before he is sworn in as the new U.S. president.

S. Korea on alert after North’s military threat

I’m not *up* on the numbers, but I know we have a large force in S. Korea, my biggest fear is the inaction I feel will be the standard mode of operation from the incoming administration. There are MANY points that will have to be proven before Obama will garner even a modicum of respect from me!

Like it or not, Barack Hussein Obama is poised to become the 44th President of this currently less than United States of America. I fear that Obama’s presidency will force this USA to become even less UNITED, and may be the catalyst that many have been looking for that brings about a dissolution OF the USA, much in the same way we were divided during the Lincoln administration. Maybe not for all the same reasons but certainly some of the same reasons!

I don’t mean to be a harbinger of doom but I have even less confidence in Obama than I did in George W. Bush when he took office in 2001. I had very little confidence in him, or his ability, and looking at our portfolio, I rest in the fact that if nothing else, I was NOT disappointed by Bush. I see even less capability in Obama, but I suppose there really is a ‘bright’ side to all of this.

If you expect little or nothing, you’re not disappointed, no matter the outcome…
