Earthquake reported south of San Antonio
A minor earthquake occurred about 95 miles south-southwest of Austin early this morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Earthquake Information Center.
The quake was detected at 4:51 a.m. and registered 3.7 on the 10-point Richter Scale, used to measure the energy of earthquakes.
The epicenter of the quake was pegged at 10 miles south of Poth in Wilson County, and 12 miles west-northwest of Kenedy in Karnes County, the center reported on its Web site.
The Karnes County Sheriff’s Department has received calls from people who felt the quake but no reports of injuries or damage, a dispatcher said this morning.
The earthquake center says a magnitude-4.0 earthquake typically can be felt as far as 60 miles from its epicenter.
Earthquakes are fairly uncommon in Texas.
A minor earthquake was felt by some people in Amarillo on March 30, 2002. The Amarillo area recorded seven minor earthquakes in 2000, records show.

If you start drinking now, it won’t be that bad when it hits. In fact, you’ll be used to all the swaying.
There’s nothing like a good earthquake with a BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Earthquakes in San Antonio? Piedmont, Missouri (where my sis lives) is under ANOTHER flood watch - my brother-in-law is reviewing plans for building an ark……….. We’re under severe storm warnings - but at least that’s normal for South Arkansas……
Everyone be safe - there’s some WEIRD weather out there!

You KNOW I had to snag that little guy! heh
Houston is on a fault line, as evidenced by the many cracks in the driveways and streets in the southwest part. Maybe San Antonio is connected via something or other? What do I know….I’m not a geologist, or whatever it’s called.
