Gadhafi’s regime teeters on collapse in Libya

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) - Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi was nowhere to be found Monday as his 42-year rule teetered on the brink of collapse. Months of NATO airstrikes have left his Bab al-Aziziya compound in Tripoli largely demolished. Most of his security forces fled or surrendered when rebel forces rolled into the capital Sunday night and took control of most of the city. And three of his sons are under arrest.

A mood of joy mixed with trepidation settled over the capital, with the rebels still fighting pockets of fierce resistance from regime loyalists firing mortars and anti-aircraft guns. Rebel spokesman Mohammed Abdel-Rahman, who was in Tripoli, said the “danger is still there” as long as Gadhafi remains on the run.

“The real moment of victory is when Gadhafi is captured,” Mustafa Abdel-Jalil, head of the rebel National Transitional Council, told a news conference in the opposition’s de facto capital of Benghazi, hundreds of miles east of Tripoli. He said the rebels have no idea where Gadhafi is and whether he is even in Tripoli. An Obama administration official said the U.S. had no indication that Gadhafi had left Libya.

President Barack Obama said the situation in Libya reached a tipping point in recent days after a five month NATO-led bombing campaign. However, he acknowledged that the situation remained fluid and that elements of the regime remained a threat.

I have always been known as an outspoken, blunt and sometimes RUDE blogger, at least to some that is, but what you read on these pages is what you see in REAL LIFE with me, and after this post some Americans are going to love me, but the *bleeding heart* libbers and tree hugging types are going to hate me even more. Good!

I have arrived at the point in my life where I don’t care who does or doesn’t like what I have to say, no matter what I write there will be those that will always think I am speaking in an angry voice, and they’re likely right.

There are those that believe I hate Islam and all it stands for, they too are correct. So, why should I write blog posts that try to make these people happy, why should I try to *suck up* to these people when they aren’t going to be happy regardless of what I write? To thine own self be true…

So, here you go, as honest and from the heart as I can make it!

Are Americans really as STUPID as some are making themselves out to be over this fight in Libya? Are Americans really buying in to the idea that this is a fight for FREEDOM? Seriously?

Pay attention folks, I am going to spell this out in language that even the most mentally  challenged libbers can understand; the happenings in Libya have NOTHING to do with freedom, not one thing, it has everything to do with a hard-line push towards Sharia law and with placing Sharia law into effect.

Everyone thumping their chests and cheering these Libyan rebels needs to realize one thing; as soon as the smoke clears, as soon as some new WAR LORD (al-Qaida) is in power, WE, The People of the United States will go right back to the top of the list as the primary enemy of Libya. The *Death to America* chants will resume shortly.

Libyan Draft Constitution: Sharia is ‘Principal Source of Legislation’

The dust has not yet settled over the Libyan capital of Tripoli since rebels took control over the weekend. But already, a draft constitutional charter for the transitional state has appeared online (embedded below). It is just a draft, mind you, and gauging its authenticity at this point is difficult. There is also no way to know whether this draft or something similar will emerge as the final governing document for a new Libyan regime.

As both the Morning Bell and Washington in a Flash noted today, Heritage Fellow Jim Phillips recently pointed out that Islamist forces “appear to make up a small but not insignificant part of the opposition coalition,” and must be prevented “from hijacking Libya’s future.” Parts of the draft Constitution allay those fears, while others exacerbate them.

Much of the document describes political institutions that will sound familiar to citizens of Western liberal democracies, including rule of law, freedom of speech and religious practice, and a multi-party electoral system.

But despite the Lockean tenor of much of the constitution, the inescapable clause lies right in Part 1, Article 1: “Islam is the Religion of the State, and the principal source of legislation is Islamic Jurisprudence (Sharia).” Under this constitution, in other words, Islam is law. That makes other phrases such as “there shall be no crime or penalty except by virtue of the law” and “Judges shall be independent, subject to no other authority but law and conscience” a bit more ominous.

I can’t say this too often; where Sharia law is in affect there is NO freedom, there is NO peace, there is only tyranny and misogyny. There are Muslims here in America pushing for Sharia law, Muslims are pushing the Brits to accept Sharia law.

Islam IS seeking any way possible to impose Sharia law on nations that don’t have it and people that don’t want it.

Americans are cheering the Libyan rebels and how they are deposing Moammar Gadhafi, and make no mistake, I know that Gadhafi IS a BAD guy, of that there is NO DOUBT, but be careful what you wish for and who you support, you might get it.

Obama says ‘rule is over’ for Libya’s Gadhafi

CHILMARK, Mass. (AP) - President Barack Obama said Monday that Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi’s “rule is over” although elements of his regime continue to resist rebels who have taken control of much of the capital.

He appealed to Gadhafi to prevent further bloodshed, and urged opposition forces to build a democratic government through “peaceful, inclusive and just” measures.

In his first appearance since a weekend push by the rebels into the Libyan capital, Obama said fierce fighting rages in some areas of the capital city of Tripoli.

“But this much is clear. The Gadhafi regime is coming to an end, and the future of Libya is in the hands of its people.”

I wonder what Obama would think if the American people marched on Washington, armed, and fighting their way into the White House to remove HIM and his evil regime? Would he be angered if it interrupted his golf game?

Would he think them rebels or freedom fighters? A tyrant NEVER sees freedom fighters as such. Would the American news media give American freedom fighters *good press*?

I seriously doubt it.
