It’s Good to be Home!

We’re back!!

What a trip, we made a whirlwind trip to the end of the earth, South Louisiana, but it was worth every minute of the rough roads, so rough that I think the Army uses them as testing grounds for new equipment, to see how well they’ll handle 3rd world nations…

Since I’m not a piece of armored equipment and not nearly as young or tough as I once was, I am sore and tired and was really glad to get back home and sleep in MY bed…

The girls graduation was awesome, they were both so happy to get that stage of life behind them, now it’s time for them to relax a bit and prepare for a couple of more years of school starting in August as they both enter nursing school…

We spent 2 1/2 days trying to cram as much ‘together’ into this visit as possible, my oldest girl, my step daughter actually, but I raised her since she was very young, and I couldn’t love her more if she WAS mine, anyway, I got to spend some time with her and her 2 kids, and that is always great, but even better was I got to meet the new man in my daughters life, a really great guy, good looking, a lawyer, beautiful home, he loves her and her kids and life is good, and you never know when you may NEED a lawyer in the family…

I also got to meet my son’s fiance too, she is a Deputy on the same department he is on, and I personally think she is much too good for him, she is a sweetheart, very nice personality and really pretty, if her hair was a more blond she’d look like Emily Proctor on CSI Miami, I don’t know how my son does it, she loves him and they make a great looking couple, she almost has her degree complete and is seriously considering Med School some time next year…

All in all, it was a tremendous trip, much too short and over way too soon, that’s the really hard part now, my kids are grown and have lives all their own, loves, marriage, children, all the things that go with adult life and I think for the 1st time in my life I really understand how my folks felt when I was off to God knows where and never knew when I’d get back, and maybe now I know why those visits, even the short ones, are so precious to all of us…

I hope to have a couple of decent graduation ceremony pics to post after I get my film developed, I just downloaded the digital cam and we didn’t get one decent pic from the graduation itself, not sure if it was the digital cam or my wife using it, I had my camera, an old dinosaur, like ME, and it’s never let me down, so, I guess it’s off to Wally-World for film developing…

Anyway, it’s good to be home, I will try to do some serious blogging by Monday, possibly tomorrow, but Monday for sure…

All the best to each and every one of of you and I hope this day finds you surrounded by the ones you love and blessed with everything you need…

See folks, I happen to know that Fred’s family are numero uno, in looks, deportment, and in virtually everything.

    I mean… His Great Uncle started a marching call…

“Two old ladies were a lying in bed, one looked at the other, and the other one said…”

    ROARS laughing…

    Congratulation’s my friend.
