Mexico President Felipe Calderon: ‘No more weapons!’

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico — President Felipe Calderon on Thursday unveiled a “No More Weapons!” billboard made with crushed firearms and placed near the U.S. border. He urged the United States to stop the flow of weapons into Mexico.

The billboard, which is in English and weighs 3 tons, was placed near an international bridge in Ciudad Juarez and can be seen from the United States.

‘Mexico needs your help’
Calderon said the billboard’s letters were made with weapons seized by local, state and federal authorities.

“Dear friends of the United States, Mexico needs your help to stop this terrible violence that we’re suffering,” Calderon said in English during the unveiling ceremony.

“The best way to do this is to stop the flow of automatic weapons into Mexico,” he added.

Mexico leader’s message to US: ‘No more weapons!’

For the longest time I blasted Felipe Calderon over his claims that American guns were flooding his nation. I refused to believe that American guns, gun dealers and gun shows were, at least in part, responsible for many of the weapons that had fallen into the hands of cartels.

I called Calderon an ineffectual leader, I called him a LIAR. I thought he was simply a man looking to assign blame and not accept responsibility for the ills of his nation. I thought him to be an America hating Mexican.

I simply could not believe that Mexican cartel members would, or could, obtain automatic weapons, and other weapons, on the U.S. market. I believed that our BATF had a better grasp of the situation and would not allow such to happen.

I advocated that gun shows and gun dealers in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona wouldn’t jeopardize their freedom and their Class III Federal Firearms Licences to make those sales.

I adamantly insisted that drug dealers would obtain their weapons from former European bloc dealers and Black Market dealers, at a much lower price than that of U.S. dealers.

Then we heard of Operation Gun Walker and Operation Fast and Furious, and we heard of the murders of DEA Agent Jaime Zapata and Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry.

Now we hear the LIES of Barack Hussein Obama, Eric Holder, Janet Napolitano et al. as they duck, dodge and cover one another as they try to find some kind of explanation that the American public will buy to justify their actions in initiating Fast and Furious.

So far, they have failed miserably, on ALL counts.

This is an election year my friends, and I don’t care if you call yourself an Independent, a Republican or a Conservative, here’s the HARD truth, Obama and Company must go, and we have to make it happen. America can’t stand 4 more years of this BS.

Fred, you are a real Gentleman for saying a mistake was made. I happen to have made the same one. I my humble opinion the head of the DOJ, Eric Holder should be fired and indicted. People keep mentioning Bryan Terry, which was a real shame, but what about all the Mexican citizens murdered or injured as a result of Fast and Furious-no one mentions them - they are human beings and their lives are just as valuable as an American citizens life. This will cause another letter to my Senators and Representative with a copy to the White House — not that any of them will read it.

    • TexasFred says:

All the Mexican citizens — That is a travesty, one that falls squarely on the shoulders of Obama and his band of Merry Idiots…

And the death toll will only grow…

      • TexasBrady says:

        Fred,

In the many hours of conversation that you and I have had over this very issue; I feel that now the first step of ASSAULT on our 2nd Amendment rights has begun and Mexico President Calderon is leading the assault. Putting up that BILLBOARD is the first serious shot. CALDERON is placing the fault squarely on the shoulders of the United States of America.

Yes a lot of the blame goes to “ERIC HOLDER” & BARACK OBAMA, because they KNEW the consequences of FAST & FURIOUS, yes they did. They attack on the 2nd Amendment will began as with FAST & FURIOUS leading charge for the abolition of our rights to bear arms, placing the blame squarely on the United States inability to control or regulate the sale of automatic weapons. They will attempt to use the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry as the crowning moment.

I hope I am wrong, but Obama and Holder wants our guns taken out of our hands and Surpreme Court Justice Ginsgerg just patiently waiting to cast the 5th and deciding vote.
I pray we don’t reach that point just yet.

Plus I hope I am totally wrong Fred.

        • TexasFred says:

I agree, an assault on OUR Second Amendment rights is underway, it has been for many years, but I don’t see Calderon as leading the way.

I see him as a victim OF Fast and Furious.

And of course, Mexico would still be a hell of a mess even if F&F had never been initiated, but I just can’t see how Calderon is leading an assault on OUR Second Amendment rights.

          • Trencher says:

Calderon ain’t leading but two things, jack and chit. And Jack ain’t no where to be found. I often wonder what it is in fact that he does. I hear allot of talk, but see very little action from this man ruling Mexico. That is however from my observation of what I hear over the Spanish radio and television at where I work. Which is mostly employing immigrants(illegal).

      • Stormwarning says:

Calderone is not a “friend” of the US. Use that as a starting point. Mexico is fast approaching a “failed state” status (if it isn’t already there). That is the second point.

The “blame America at any cost” crowd enjoys pointing fingers, but can’t deal with truth. If and or when Holder and the rest are actually held accountable for “Gunwalker” and “Fast and Furious” the revelations will shock many “left of center” Americans.

        • TexasFred says:

I NEVER said Calderon was a friend of the USA… I do however, believe that Mexico has been victimized by the Obama regime…

And quite frankly, I don’t blame Calderon for being pissed the hell off…

Americans should be pissed the hell off, but those “left of center” Americans you mention will NEVER be shocked at, or by Obama, and Obama will only blame Bush…

Surely you don’t believe Calderon accepted the F&F guns? Or wanted them to come into Mexico?

  2. extex_cop says:

Stupid sign….It’s in English. I thought they sold the guns to Mexicans to smuggle back across the border…..shouldn’t it be written in Spanish.

  3. BobF says:

No Fred, I don’t believe you were wrong at all. The guns weren’t purchased by law abiding Americans who were willing to risk their livelihoods to make a few extra bucks. The guns were illegally purchased by government agents who used their credentials to get the dealers to see them the weapons in violation of the law. Calderon was blaming law abiding Americans when in fact it was a lawless justice department which was providing the weapons. Calderon was wrong in that he blamed the wrong ones.

    • TexasFred says:

Well, he blamed ALL Americans, that’s true, but regardless, I know WE didn’t do it, but tell the average Texan that the average Mexican isn’t a sorry wetback…

It’s all about perception, our government did it, thus WE did it… 🙁

  4. sdkar says:

Can we get a bunch of dead illegal immigrants and pile up their bodies to make a sign at the border that spells out “NO MORE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS”?

If need be, we can make this sign in both english and spanish, (and french, and creole, and pig latin, esparanto, ubby dubby, etc) and make the letters really large so it can be read from far away (like from the moon). I’m sure we will have no problem finding the parts to make our sign, we just have to adjust them so they stay still. Nothing too drastic, just follow calderon’s example of what he did to the guns for his sign.

    Just a suggestion.

  5. Katie says:

    How about this agreement:

You will not send any more drugs and immigrants.
We won’t send you any more guns.

    OK?

  6. mrchuck says:

Felipe Calderon will be “out of office very soon”.
Why,,,,the President of Mexico serves a term of 6 years, that’s all.
Be prepared for another election cycle!.
    Who will win???
That depends if the PRI party has the candidate with the most popularity, or maybe even the communist party.
Elections in Mexico are ALWAYS decided who gives out the most “mordita”.
That translate to “little bite”,, but it really means who spreads the most monies with the populace to secure their votes.
Remember,,,I worked and lived there,,,,and became a citizen,,,.

Mexico is really a socialist Republic politically.
But really, about 300 super wealthy families, led by Sr. Carlos Slim are the string pullers of the puppets on stage, including All politicians,,,,,all of them.
Remember this and you will pass.

  7. myfoxmystere says:

The lefty nutjob “DOJers” need to be taken to the gun shed and get a wuppin! They are getting another free hall pass from their buddies in the See BS Noose department. I wonder if Chrissy-boi is getting another thrill up his carcass? Phil Calderone is a wimp as well as the truth “dojers” and needs to man up instead of spanking his pet peeves.

  8. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

So let’s see, Mr Calderon — is it the lawful US CITIZEN that is providing guns for Mexican cartels?

Why, no, it’s not. It’s the US GOVERNMENT.
