Chris Christie Inducted into CAIR’s ‘Best List’ for Fighting ‘Islamophobia’
The Council on the American Islamic Relations (CAIR) excoriated many of its critics in their “Islamophobia” report, but the group also had a “Best List Inductees” which included New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
CAIR says the list was compiled as a way to recognize those who “deserve recognition for their outstanding contributions to pushing back against Islamophobic trends in 2011 and 2012.” The report says Christie is receiving the accolade primarily for his nomination of a Muslim judge and statements in the ensuing controversy:
Following Islamophobic criticism of his nomination of Sohail Mohammed as a New Jersey Superior Court judge, Christie pushed back. Commenting on the baseless fear some were spreading about Islamic religious principles Christie bluntly stated, “This Sharia law business is just crap. It’s just crazy, and I’m tired of dealing with the crazies.” Of the nominee, Christie stated, “He is an extraordinary American who is an outstanding lawyer and played an integral role in the post-September 11th period in building bridges between the Muslim American community in this state and law enforcement.”106 At the height of the Park 51 controversy during the summer of 2010, Christie spoke admirably about the Muslim community in the United States, stating, “We cannot paint all of Islam with that brush. We can’t paint all of Islam with the Muhammad Atta brush. We have to bring people together.”
Christie has long been criticized by the base of his party for his actions regarding Islamists. In one instance, the Republican Governor allowed an appointee to pick four Islamists for an advisory panel meant to ease relations between the government and the Garden state’s Muslim population.
Other inductees on the “best list” are Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), Rais Bhulyan, CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA), Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), Rep. Yvette Clark (D-NY), Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA), Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), Rep. Laura Richardson (D-CA), Wired magazine’s Spencer Ackerman, and former Congressman Hansen Clarke (D-MI). SOURCE
I have a dear friend that lives in New Jersey, he is one of the most astute bloggers I have ever known and I know that he feels pretty comfortable with Chris Christie. That is, to date, the only disagreement we have ever had. I truly admire and respect my friend and I hope he doesn’t see this as an attack on his political acumen.
Look at the people on CAIR’s list of *best* and it’s a Who’s Who of Liberal Democrats. Somehow, I feel that Christie fits in quite well with people of that ilk.
Here is a comment from a New Jersey resident; it’s taken from the original story.

Christie has always sucked to NJ’s Muslim community and all different interest groups.. Some of the 9-11 terrorists lived for a time in Paterson. He refused to criticize the proposed Mosque near the World Trade Center site. A lot of his campaign money came from Democrat donors. There were virtually no Democratic attack ads in this state the last election.
He took the Obamacare money for Medicare expansion which will exploded the state’s budget once the Fed money runs out. He worked as a lobbyist for Bernie Madoff. He is against 2nd amendment protection, he’s an open borders guy, he’s for bogus green energy, he never pushed tax cuts, our state unemployment is 2% higher than the national average, despite all the You Tube videos the state workforce hasn’t been reduced, his staff was bigger and gets paid more than corrupt Corzine, his cabinet was full of liberals and Democrats.
Rather than appoint Lonegan to the open Senate seat he had a special election that cost 12 million dollars and we end up with the first gay black left wing Senator. He’s done nothing for his party and its all about himself and his own cult of personality brand. His campaign ads talked about moving NJ “Forward”. Just like Obama.
I live in this state. It’s the best NJ can do. Exit polls show he would lose in a general to Hillary in NJ. So why would we elect a short, fat, obnoxious version of George Bush? Cruz is our best candidate.
I consider Christie to be nothing more than a RINO, a Republican In Name Only, and have for a very long time now. I see him as a person that will pander to Barack Hussein Obama (a stealth Muslim) for whatever he thinks he can get out of him.
I don’t know what else to say other than this; look for the DNC to run Hillary Clinton in 2016. If Christie is the best the GOP can come up with to take her on you might as well prepare for another Democratic folly in the White House, an extension of the Obama polices at the very least, but consider this; who will embrace the Muslims the most? Who will give in to their demands as America is taken even closer to the disaster that is Sharia Law? Would any *thinking* American want either of those cretins in charge?
I learned everything I ever wanted to know about Islam and its members when they attacked our troops and our nation. It looks to me like Chris Christie is on the fast track for Islamic submission. If New Jersey LIKES Chris Christie, New Jersey needs to KEEP Chris Christie.
The facts about Christie are coming out and will no doubt come back to bite him. He is a “big tent” politician with some decidedly liberal points of view no matter how much he claims to be a conservative. It is a sad commentary on the GOP that he appears to be-at this time-the best they can offer to contest Hillery.
Fully agreed…
Crispy Crème and Sheila Jackson Lee ought to get a room. The people who will prostitute their political stances on behalf of staying in office still astounds me. At least Benedict Arnold had principles he held in esteem. He was a turncoat, on of the most notorious, but he did have principles. Even he wouldn’t have gone this route that Crispy and Lee are on.
Christie is big part of the Republican Wing of the Democrat Party.
Christie is a statist/Socialist RINO and will probably, in our lifetimes, devolve into a full blown (pun intended) Communist, just like most of those inside the beltway. We are up against it folks. They, the Muslim/Marxist/Communists who inhabit the halls of our government have fully infiltrated and sidestepped our system of laws. We, the electorate, have only ourselves to blame. From the invasion of illegals, the subtle infusion of Socialist principles/programs to the outright disregard of our Constitution and bicameral system and its protections we have the government that our society elected and now deserves. It is now up to us, those of us who pay the bills to rise up and be merciless, because if we do not those now in power will be merciless in return.
Christie will drive more people to the brink of a full blown revolution than many think. That friends, may not be all that bad a think.
Glad you brought this up. Fred….just one more reason to say no yo Christie. He was already a no on my list and your post today will keep him off my yes list forever. What the HELL is going on in America!!!
Not a lot to add, other than to say I agree with you about Chris Christie. I would point out that the media is already pushing him on us as the candidate who is most electable. I am sick of that false narrative. So much so, that if he is the GOP nominee, I’m going to spend a lot of time hunched over the ceramic throne in my bathroom.
So who do you suggest, Cruz?? He’d only get tea party votes maybe 6-8 % of the vote, A landslide for Hillary. Gotta go with someone more middle of the road.
Middle of the road means *the lessor of the evils*… What ever happened to the idea of running a real Conservative Republican?
Sadly, I think you’re right on Ted Cruz, he’s got too many thinking he’s nothing but an attack dog… The TEA Party backing you is NOT what I would want if I were running, but some good, old fashioned Reagan Conservatives is right up my alley..
Oh how I miss the Reagan years. He was the 1st President I got to vote for (2nd term). Someone in the Republican party said that we have to get over it and stop looking for another Ronald Reagan. I think we need to be searching harder than ever for someone who at least comes close. Why don’t the non-Consevatives start looking….into changing to Dems?
When the liberal media starts telling us which Republican is most electable, then you know that person doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in the place of eternal fire.
CAIR is an anti-American, subversive organization.
Crispy Creme Christie is an azz kissin’ pagan mooselim dupe that is to be unequivocally scorned and shunned.
I’m sorry but I can never defend Islam…I’m tired of hearing this is a religion of peace. And anyone supporting Islam or defending it as such is a domestic terrorist. This so called religion of peace has 9/11 to prove how “peaceful” this religion is.
Does anyone think that the GOP will allow a conservative to run in 2016. Dream on.
Bingo!
The GOP hates Conservatives as much as the Dems hate Conservatives… If we want ANYTHING we’re going to have to take it, we’ll never be *allowed* a seat at the table otherwise…
Both parties are shysters…The whole government is corrupt for that matter…and its taking this country down.
Cristie is a mafia plant.
Interesting Read: Obama Accused Of Crimes Against Humanity In International Criminal Court 11-01-13
(Daily Caller) “President Obama has been accused of crimes against humanity in a new complaint submitted to the International Criminal Court, based in the Hague.
Obama’s support for Egypt’s recently deposed Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated governing party forms the basis of the complaint filed against him by a group of Egyptian lawyers.
‘Obama cooperated, incited, and assisted the armed elements of the Muslim Brotherhood in the commission of crimes against humanity in the period from 3/7/2013-8/18/2013, in the Arab Republic of Egypt,’ according to the complaint, which was reported on by Egypt’s El Watan newspaper. (snip)
‘Above and beyond the accusations of crimes against humanity that the lawyer-drafted complaint cited by El Watan levels against the Brotherhood, one need only look to the fate of Egypt’s Christian minority, who were especially targeted by the Muslim Brotherhood—and thus, by extension, their supporter, Obama—to see numerous examples of nearly every aforementioned definition of crimes against humanity,’ wrote Egyptian-American writer Raymond Ibrahim.”
The complaint notes that Obama was an accomplice to what the Muslim Brotherhood did. Raymond Ibrahim, from the above stated source, notes;
“..the complaint shows how Muslim Brotherhood leadership violated some of the above definitions, for example, by torturing, mutilating, raping, and killing Egyptians in their “sit in” camps (first reported here), with a highlight on the role the Brotherhood played in inciting violence and the killing of peaceful protesters around Itthadiya Palace back in December.
Among many others to be murdered in response to Brotherhood-incitement against the Copts, a ten-year-old girl was shot and killed while walking back from Bible class. In the Sinai, a young Coptic priest was shot dead in front of his church, while the body of another Copt was found mutilated and beheaded. Four other Christians were slaughtered by Muslims in Luxor province. Most recently, a church wedding was attacked, leaving, among others, two girls, aged eight and twelve, dead and riddled with bullets.”
Obowmao’s wrongfully awarded Nobel Prize is once again stained with innocent blood.
I found what to me is an interesting website. Look up any city or zip code as to election results for 2012 Presidential vote.
My town 68% Romney/39% I and Me
Rowlett, TX…? It’s there too
Philadelphia we know was 115% I and Me…so doubt site is anything more than a fluke. 115% not what site shows.
But it may be fun to check out your town.
Got to scroll down between one half and two thirds of screen to see Presdential results. Have fun.
http://www.city-data.com/city/Rowlett-Texas.html
Oops…my town was 60%…0 had a slash mark and looked as if 8 to old eyes. Didn’t stop and think and add. With my old timers syndrome I need notes to remember what it is I’m thinking about thinking about.
I think this says it all about the GOP:
Ken Cuccinelli received about $1.95 from the GOP whilst — simultaneously — pouring MILLIONS of dollars into Christie’s campaign which he was already assured of winning.
Speaks volumes to me.
