An Open Letter to Congress - Charlie’s Soapbox 8/24/15
I am a proud American who believes that America has held - and still holds - a very sensitive and special place in the affairs of mankind on Planet Earth. I believe that America has been divinely blessed and protected in our two centuries plus of existence.
I believe that America has been a counter balance that has cancelled out a lot of tyranny, evil and conquest and, admittedly, we have made a lot of mistakes, but on balance we have exerted a certain Pax Americana in the international affairs of mankind.
It took a lot of old fashioned guts for the Continental Congress to stand up to the world’s mightiest military and tell them that we demanded our independence, even at the peril of going up against a far superior force on land and sea with a ragtag army of untrained citizens, many who had to supply their own firearms.
It took courage above and beyond for Abraham Lincoln to push the country into a Civil War that he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt would divide this nation for decades.
It took guts to give the order for American troops to storm the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, straight into the face of artillery and machine gunfire, wave after wave being cut to ribbons by German shore emplacements.
The history of this nation is written in the blood and courage of men who stood in the face of overwhelming odds, politicians, soldiers, statesmen and ordinary citizens who sought to do the right thing regardless of the cost or the consequences.
Well, ladies and gentlemen of the United States Congress, it seems that that particular pen has run out of ink. The courageous politicians that once championed this nation have been replaced, for the most part, by a breed of milksop, politically correct, scared of their own shadow, pushover, pathetic excuses for public servants who are supposed to be representing a constituency of citizens who have to live with the circumstances of their timid folly.
You don’t even have the courage to face down an out of control president, even when he makes a deal with the devil. Don’t you bunch of timid capons even care what kind of world you’re leaving to your children and grandchildren, not to even mention the rest of us? Are you really party partisans before you’re parents and grandparents or even human beings?
Be honest with yourselves a minute, go into the bathroom and look in the mirror and ask the person you see this question.
“Do I really believe that Iran will not use the money we’re releasing to them to finance terrorists to kill Americans, and, when, not if, but when, the Iranians develop their nuclear device, will they really use it against America and Israel?”
You can’t hide from the truthful answer to that question forever, an answer will be required of you one day.
You have allowed Obama to tilt the Supreme Court so far to the left that they’re little more than a shameful extension of the Executive Branch.
You have talked for decades about the porous southern border but have done absolutely nothing about it.
You have allowed cities in this nation to declare themselves sanctuary cities where they protect the worst of the worst criminal aliens, American citizens paying an awful price for your silence.
You watch an impossible National Debt balloon completely out of control knowing full well that a day of reckoning is coming that will seriously curtail the quality of life for coming generations.
You allow corrupt government agencies like the IRS to run over the very people you are sworn to protect and allow the entitlement society to expand exponentially while you actually entertain the idea of raising taxes on those who still work and shoulder the burden.
You compose a third of the constitutionally mandated ruling system and you shirk your duty and allow this nation to move a little closer to the edge every day.
I wish you bunch of sold-out, jaded, burned-out hacks would just go home and let some people who still have some vision and whose consciences haven’t been seared past the point of reminding them when they’re wrong take over and start to claw this nation back on to the path of sanity,
Your ratings are in the single digits, your morals are in the gutter, your minds are on self-preservation and somewhere along the way you traded your honor for political expediency.
You’ve violated your oaths, you’ve betrayed your country you’ve feathered your nests and you’ve sat on your hands while an imperial president has rubbed your noses in the dirt time after time.
You’re no longer men, you’re puppets, you’re caricatures, jokes, a gaggle of fading prostitutes for sale to anybody who can do you a political favor.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

I agree with Charlie, 100%, every word, the problem is, Senators and Congress Critters don’t care what WE, the People think or want. The only recourse we have is to take them out of office but even that isn’t enough. Lifetime benefits have to go too or Term Limits won’t mean a thing. ALL elected officials need term limits, and so do judges.
The devil went down to Georgia, and when he lost to that young southern lad, he headed up to DC, and has been doing quite well ever since.

Thank you for re posting this letter Fred. I read this earlier and it brought tears to my eyes. Isn’t what Charlie said exactly how most of us feel? Why the hell has it taken a man like The Donald to lash out at the very people who control our destiny? The GOP will, I think, sink Trumps’ chances for the Republican nomination and we will be stuck with someone that they deem as electable. All this horseshit about the hispanic vote, the asain vote, the black COMMUNITY and any other ethnicity drives me crazy. The American citizen has a voice in D.T. and I will go to work to support his candidacy even if he goes third party. The Republicans ditched the Whigs and became the opposition party. Now may be the time to ditch the RINO party for a new group of true representatives of WE THE PEOPLE. It may not go well with the NWO crowd but, shit, that’s what the second ammendment is for.
I feel confident in saying that if the gopE spurns Trump and tries to shove jeb down my throat…well, I will for the first time in my life, vote third party. It may or may not give the dems the whitehouse, but I would rather say in no uncertain words to the gopE that I am DONE with them. There is no difference between jeb and the libs anyway, so why should I care.
I will not suffer so much as both the wife and I work for the federal govt, and will NOT lose our jobs. We have the house paid for, the cars paid for, no credit card debt, etc. The only bills I pay are my monthly electric, gas and food among other stuff.
I have money in the bank, (maybe I should take that out), and I will be okay. But it’s my country I am concerned for. If it is going to be destroyed, it will be by the hands of my declared enemy, NOT someone who claims to represent me.
…and yes, the 2nd amendment is my final vote if my hand is forced. So far, the soapbox does not work as they no longer care what we say about them. The dems have all but come out and said they are communists, and no one that voted democrat seemed to mind. The ballot box here in American, which I used to think trustworthy, is on par with a third world dictatorship, where 110% of the people vote unanimously for the tyrant.
I heard that in the last obama elections, we had more people voting for obama than registered voters in the county, and other such nonsense and no one looks into this or is too afraid. No on questions obama SS#, which appears to be a duplicate from someone alive a hundred years ago, and is from a state obama never lived or worked in. Obama’s refused to release his birth certificate, and when he finally did, it was a proven fake, but no one says a word. He refuses to release his school records, and no one looks into this. His wife had written a paper on communism, and no one seems to care. Obama’s wife declares that she has never been proud of America, and that’s okay. Obama hangs out with terrorists and communists and even has them on his staff, and no one seems to mind at all. Obama listed himself as a foreign born black man on his school papers, and its not news. Obama had his literary agent put in writing that he was born in Kenya, and no one looks into it. I could go on and on.
These are things I would expect from a third world shithole full of crooked politics. But nope, it is here in America. Too many people are afraid to speak out. The race card had obtained the whitehouse for obama and kept people in line when obama should be criticized severely. Lots of people who know the real obama have ended up DEAD. Obama has been closely linked to being ALL of the following:
Racist, Muslim, Communist, Homosexual, Anti-white, Anti-capaitalist, and HATES America and Americans. These are NOT weak claims or just talk. There is hard evidence for all of it, and no one looks into this. Hitler did not have this much protection.
To be honest, there is a part of me that doesn’t think any of this election stuff will matter, as obama has a nice plan in store just before the election to declare martial law and withhold elections and declare himself chancellor for life. I know, it sounds stupid…but lately, well, it doesn’t seem so far fetched.
The GOP better think hard about who they nominate. If Trump loses fair and square, I will support the GOP. But if they plan to shove a RINO at me, well, I lived with 8 years of the worst president EVER. I will put up with whoever the dems throw in the race. HOWEVER, I will NOT support a party that is just as bad as the dems.
After all, the democrats got hijacked by the commies, it’s not unfathomable that the GOP did as well. That way, no matter who wins, the commies do NOT lose. Trump is there fly in the ointment. He pisses of both sides…and that is a good thing.
He does not apologize, he speaks the truth, he does not cave to PC, and he knows what America needs. The GOP better think long and hard if they want to survive. This may prove their undoing if they go after Trump..and they will deserve it.
dekare, I’m with you. I make 6 figures in retirement, I’ve been investing since I was 9 (thanks to Dad, when we’d sit down every morning with the newspaper and watch our stocks, deciding what to buy and what to sell), my house is paid off, my cars are paid off, I carry no credit card debt and my cabin is 95 miles away from any form of major civilization. I have bang sticks, pieces of metal for same, food, water and friends who have all of those things and a similar mindset.
So, easily, I could say “screw it” and stay home next November. By doing so I would likely be enabling Hillary or some other Leftist fucktard to step in once again and help to continue bringing down this nation. I would also ensure that SCOTUS has the ability to assfuck the US for at least another generation to come.
I am almost at that “step away” point. I’m this close. But not yet. Not just yet.

As for Trump, we here in the NY/NJ metro area know of and see his accomplishments first hand. Obviously though a self made man of action and too numerous to list here accomplishments is the last person those in the Washington wasteland need or want. Plagiarizer Biden- 72, commie Sanders 74, fat ass liar Clinton 67, and the RINO’s in the clown car are our choices? I don’t think so.
Just be prepared of the “doings” around you and also the political wrestling arena.
Someone will win.

I think Dekare may be right on the martial law idea. a lot of us are mulling that over.
