Once more unto the breach

Things have been pretty hectic here in Rowlett since the tornado came through and rearranged the landscape, and now it’s going to get even more hectic; elections are coming up here in Rowlett, City Council races, the race for U.S. Congress, a seat held by Pete Sessions and a race for the Texas STATE Congressional Rep held by my friend Cindy Burkett.

Of course I will be supporting Cindy Burkett as my Texas STATE Rep, to not do so would be foolish, Cindy became my Rep when Joe Driver retired and she has done an outstanding job.

I am still looking at the race for US Congress, I can’t keep supporting Pete Sessions but I have yet to see anyone that I believe can beat him or that would be a better Representative but I seriously believe we have to turn the Senate and House over if we ever expect to see a BETTER America.

The Rowlett City Council race is going to be interesting and a serious challenge for everyone.

I know who the candidates are, I know what seats they are running for and I can’t speak to most of those positions right now because they haven’t made official announcements as yet, except for our Mayor, the Honorable Todd Gottel that is; he has officially thrown his hat into the ring and is running for another term as our Mayor, an election that we ALL believe is his for the taking!

Todd is running for reelection and I will support him in any way I am needed, Todd has been the best thing to ever happen to Rowlett and he has been a beacon of hope and encouragement in our trying times recently.

I may be missing from Facebook and The TexasFred Blog for a few days at a time over the next few weeks but I will be posting, I will be reading but I will also be working as hard as this tired old man can work to help my friends, not just FB friends, but REAL friends in life, people that I know, people that I have spent time with and people that I trust to get elected or reelected as the case may be.

I will announce my endorsements of those I like and want to see in office and I will NOT support those that I feel don’t have what it takes or have not done a good job in the position they have held.

I’m not going to *trash talk* any of those I don’t support, that is the type of actions that MUST come to an end if real Conservatism is to ever have a chance in this nation.
