Chertoff: Illegals ‘Degrade’ Environment

WASHINGTON (AP) - Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff on Monday defended the construction of a fence along the southwest border, saying it’s actually better for the environment than what happens when people illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico line.

“Illegal migrants really degrade the environment. I’ve seen pictures of human waste, garbage, discarded bottles and other human artifact in pristine areas,” Chertoff said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. “And believe me, that is the worst thing you can do to the environment.”

To curb illegal immigration, the U.S. government plans to complete 370 miles of fencing and put 200 miles of vehicle barriers on the southwest border by the end of 2008. But this has brought complaints that the fence and barriers are harmful to the environment.

Chertoff said the department exceeded its goal to complete 150 miles of fencing along the Mexican border by the end of the 2007 fiscal year, which was Sunday.

He’s seen pictures of it?? He’s seen PICTURES?? Excuse the hell outta me but shouldn’t the director of the HSA have seen it a lot more up close and personal?? Pictures for crying out loud?? And these asshats in the Bush administration want us to fall all over ourselves believing they are taking care of America??

And these lofty goals of fencing?? 150 miles here, this year, 350 miles there next year and the border is STILL over 2/3 unprotected and wide open, that’s really taking care of Homeland Security there Sec. Jerkoff…

Last month, Chertoff said there was glitch in a “virtual fence” - a 28-mile stretch of surveillance technologies near the border southwest of Tucson - and he would not pay the contractor, Boeing Co., until that was resolved. The technologies were not all working together so that images caught on radar could be sent to a Border Patrol agent monitoring the system, Chertoff said Monday.

But he also said the problem “appears to be getting fixed” and Chertoff said the program will undergo its final testing phase over the next 30 days.

There was a glitch in a virtual fence?? And it “appears to be getting fixed”, did ya get that from a series of pictures that you had some lackey take for you while you sat your ass in an office in D.C.??

Virtual fencing that sends messages to Border Patrol Agents that are going to get sent to prison for doing their jobs and stopping the wetbacks, terrorists and drug dealers from coming into the USA, what a concept…

The Bush administration is, as far as border security is concerned, in MY opinion, the most miserable failure in the history of this nation, the Bush administration, all the way up to Bush himself, are the biggest bunch of lying, hypocritical fools to ever inhabit the White House and Washington, D.C.

And the really aggravating part is this, either Bush doesn’t care about the American people, the voters, and their safety, security and opinions or he really is so delusional that HE believes he is doing a marvelous job as POTUS…

Either way, We, The People are the losers and the sooner we get Bush out of office and install a REAL Conservative and not some half-assed RINO Globalist that wants to give America away, the better off we’ll ALL be…

What I have to wonder though is this, does the Bush administration really think that ALL of the American people are so damned stupid that we actually fall for their bullshit??

  1. Ranando says:

This is why the GOP will lose in 2008, because of pure stupidity.

Such a simple fix, ask the American people what they want and give it to them.

We want secure borders, what’s the problem?

  2. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

Good luck. Where will we find that person? And will they be electable?

    BZ

  3. Ranando says:

If I was advising a GOP candidate I would simply tell them to reverse every one of Bush’s policies, every one.

    There’s the next President.

Oh and one other thing I would tell them is, don’t take any vacations while our troops are in harms way.

  4. Robert says:

Well I guess now that ol jackoff saw the pictures we are going to get some action….Yeah Right

The BEST thing Bush could do now is call in Tom Tancredo as Homeland security chief…. this Jackoff is as dumb as his boss..

Here’s what needs to happen in the next year:
Either Fred T comes out and with some serious solutions, better than Duncan Hunter, or WE need to get on the Hunter wagon FULL BORE….

Hunter is my guy until FT sways my opinion…. I’ll support either one as it sits now. I will never settle for the lesser of two evils again.

  5. TomR says:

Duncan Hunter is my pick also. He is proven to be a real Conservative and doesn’t horseshit around trying to say the pc things. Hunter’s greatest enemy, and Conservatives’ greatest enemy, is the damned RNC. They have given us two Bushs, have more Bushs and Bush types in the waiting room and I remember the DNC’s distate of Ronald Reagan.

Unless we get a real Conservative in the White House, the only fix to the border problem will come when we have so many illegals even they will want the damned fence built.

  6. TomR says:

Excuse me, that is supposed to be the “RNC’s distaste of Ronald Reagan”. Sometimes I can’t find a difference between the two parties.

  7. sbeene says:

Lies, lies, lies….and stop thinking Bush is dumb.
Bush is as sly, sneaky, and underhanded as a hungry fox in the hen house. This all fits in with his determination to erase our sovereignty and to create the North American Union.

In Clinton’s last 4 yrs electronic methods for watching the border were contracted out and installed. Over 70% of the equipment NEVER worked. You and I would make hell for the contracting company…..but our government just said “Ho hum” and ignored millions of our dollars down the drain.

Now Bush and Chertoff of dual citizenship know that citizens are pissed. So they let another huge contract to Boeing for, guess what, more electronic NEW technology. So that is more money down the drain and again “it is not working”. But let’s just pretend (for the sake of discussion) that it does work and perfectly.

Well if it works then there must be border patrol sitting at a desk watching the screens. And let’s pretend the agents see bunches of illegals coming across. Since the border patrol has been decimated by attrition, some sent to Iraq for their border, and loooow morale, and the working conditions, plus the law suits with prison time IF they do their jobs………then who is going out to apprehend the ones they saw???? They do NOT have the manpower. And we must also pretend that no coyote is such a stinker that they would shoot out the electronics. Great equation folks…..one good bullet against millions in electronics. If electronic fences are so great then why don’t they have ONLY them around the White House?

WOW that is a lot of pretending.

Chertoff now claims he has finished the amount and type of fence he was tasked to do in 2007.

    LIES LIES LIES
He was tasked to put up a physical double fence that is NOT easy to climb with a border patrol road for patrolling in between the 2 fences. That was made very clear in the bill that was passed and funded.

Instead he has put up a single fence, not to the specs, and it is easy to climb. And even that fence is not the length he was supposed to build.

I stay on top of this subject and our government is, as usual, lying their heads off. And that is the exact plan that Bush has. He wants delay, so more can come in our country. Chertoff the lackey does exactly what Bush wants done and to hell with a bill that was passed.

Chertoff and Bush are traitors to this nation and to the oaths they took—but Congress will not do their duty and get rid of them.

Only an uprising of the citizens will shock them into reality.

  8. Basti says:

Chertoff rhymes with Jerkoff. I rest my case.

  9. TexasFred says:

An uprising by the citizens will be met with much the same method as was Burma just recently, except they’ll bring in U.N. troops to try it, they know our guys are not very likely going to fire on U.S. citizens, at least that’s the hope, and I talk to a lot of troops and it appears that would be an order they would refuse…

  10. GUYK says:

I am pessimistic about the future of this country for the first time in my life! When Carter was elected I figured the country was strong enough to survive..it was. When Clinton was elected I figured again that the country was strong enough to survive..it was but was weakened badly. Now with Bush..whose middle name should be Bill..has taken down a path I am afraid is too narrow to get turned around in..and down that path we will continue until there is a rebellion.

I thought that maybe the political revolution at the polls that put the GOP in charge of congress..both houses..would turn us around from the slide into socialism. But the RINOs blew it…more interested in what goes on in the privacy of the bedroom than in stopping the socialists. And, with the socialists running the school systems and major universities and brain washing our young and teaching that there IS a free lunch I have my doubts that our system will last much longer..hide your money..when the socialists take over they will get what you have banked..

  11. gunz says:

That’s the very first thing that came to my mind also when he said he’d seen pictures of it, I was like what the fuck???

Good piece Fred, you nailed it.
