Obama admits health care overhaul may die on Hill
WASHINGTON (AP) – No, maybe he can’t. President Barack Obama, who insisted he would succeed where other presidents had failed to fix the nation’s health care system, now concedes the effort may die in Congress.

The president’s newly conflicting signals could frustrate Democratic lawmakers who are hungry for guidance from the White House as they try to salvage the effort to extend coverage to millions of uninsured Americans and hold down spiraling medical costs. Obama’s comments Thursday night came hours after Republican Scott Brown was sworn in to replace the late Edward M. Kennedy, leaving Democrats without their filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, and Obama’s signature health legislation with no clear path forward.

“I think it’s very important for us to have a methodical, open process over the next several weeks, and then let’s go ahead and make a decision,” Obama said at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser.

“And it may be that … if Congress decides we’re not going to do it, even after all the facts are laid out, all the options are clear, then the American people can make a judgment as to whether this Congress has done the right thing for them or not,” the president said. “And that’s how democracy works. There will be elections coming up, and they’ll be able to make a determination and register their concerns.”

Obama admits health care overhaul may die on Hill

Have you ever noticed? The most important news stories, the ones that the media or the White House doesn’t want you to see, seem to come out late on Friday afternoon?

I have known this for a long time, that’s why I like to watch the late Friday PM news so closely, I get some of my best material for commentary that way.

It appeared to be a shift in tone for the issue the “Yes we can” candidate campaigned on and made the centerpiece of his domestic agenda last year. In a speech to a joint session of Congress in September, Obama declared: “I am not the first president to take up this cause, but I am determined to be the last. … Here and now we will meet history’s test.”

Obama won’t be the last. He’s going to keep on pushing this. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi will keep on pushing and encouraging him as long as they are in the Senate and House.

Under normal conditions, I greatly admire tenacity. It takes a lot of guts to march into the belly of the beast and fight for your cause. It helps if the people are behind you too. But in this case, in regards to ObamaCare, I don’t think it’s so much tenacity as it is Democratic moonbattery!

The American people, the MAJORITY of American people, don’t want this debacle of a health care bill to pass. For some reason, Obama, Reid and Pelosi just can’t get it through their heads.

“The next step is what I announced at the State of the Union, which is to call on our Republican friends to present their ideas. What I’d like to do is have a meeting whereby I’m sitting with the Republicans, sitting with the Democrats, sitting with health care experts, and let’s just go through these bills. … And then I think that we’ve got to go ahead and move forward on a vote,” Obama said Thursday shortly after a White House meeting with Democratic congressional leaders that produced no apparent progress on health care.

Let me translate that for you: “The next step is what I announced at the State of the Union, which is to call on our Republican friends to present their ideas.” equates to, ‘OK, we locked the GOP out on this and we have totally screwed it up. Let’s give THEM a shot at it and if THEY do a fine job of making this feasible, WE take the credit. If they screw up worse than we did, then we place the blame for failure on THEM!’.

There! You see, it’s not that hard to understand the Dems. All you have to do is lose your ability to think in a logical manner, make every effort to deceive America and deflect the blame for any failure to the other guys and, voila, you have *Dem think*! 😛

“I think we should be very deliberate, take our time. We’re going to be moving a jobs package forward over the next several weeks; that’s the thing that’s most urgent right now in the minds of Americans all across the country.”

Jobs? Jobs you say? Wasn’t that untold BILLIONS in bailout dollars supposed to be the milk and honey that promised to save, and generate jobs? Jobs? Did it just dawn on these disingenuous asshats that if Americans don’t have JOBS, the nation is broke, the politicians are out of work and this nation comes to a stand still as it stagnates into nothingness?

We need to do something about JOBS America! We can start by putting MANY Dems out of work come November! We can continue by putting even MORE Dems out of work in 2012. We can give the POTUS his pink slip and then vow to NEVER let America sink to the level of evil, corruption and depravity that allows a Barack Hussein Obama to rise to power!

We can do it America, but we must clean up the GOP as we clean OUT the Dems.

RINOs have got to go! A RINO, Republican In Name Only, is a creature that presents even more danger to America than does a hard core Dem-Libber.

‘Oh, but how can that be TexasFred?’ you ask.

‘Even if they’re a RINO, they’re still a Republican, and I’ll take a Republican, ANY Republican, over a Democrat, any day!’ you whine.

OK, I am going to say this once again, as gently as possible, so pay attention.

Reach back and pull your head OUT of your ass! Your oxygen deprivation is showing!

A RINO is a wild card. A wild animal.

With a RINO, you never know what they will do or with whom they are going to side. They wear the name Republican, but that’s all it is, a name. Hence the description of RINO!

A RINO is a lot closer to being a Dem than they ever will be to being a Conservative in the GOP. I have had it with those that aren’t REAL Conservatives. I have had it with the idiocy I see from a few readers here and on other blogs, forums and networking sites, that feel we must all toe the GOP Party Line, regardless the candidate, or the less than Conservative stand OF that candidate.

Demand the best America! It is our duty to give this nation OUR best, and it is the duty of our elected representatives to give nothing but their best as well. No more settling for anything less! We can vote for our Congress Critters every 2 years. The true power of this nation lies in the hallowed halls of Congress.

If they are doing an acceptable job, vote them back in and keep an eye on them. If they don’t give their very best, if they don’t do what’s RIGHT for America, FIRE THEM!

It won’t take long for the message to sink in!

BO is so full of shit that he has no credibility of any kind any more. All he is good at is oration-he has no substance and him coupled with Reid and Pelosi are fxxxxxg up our country. FIRE the whole Fxxxxxg congress.

  2. cary says:

You can’t see me, but I’m giving you a standing ovation for this one, Fred. Well written, chock-full of direct thrusts, and very strongly worded.

You are ON your game today, man!

  3. WhoBeen says:

Ref:”Obama won’t be the last. He’s going to keep on pushing this.”
You are absolutely right…I just got out of my truck and the last thing I heard on the radio was Obama insisting that some kind of healt care bill MUST be passed!

Ref:”A RINO is a lot closer to being a Dem than they ever will be to being a Conservative…”

Chafee, Lugar, and a guy by the name of Miller in California come to mind.

  4. Vigilante says:

    Agree Fred.
My interpretation of a RINO is an elitist asshole that wants to reach across the aisle and be part of what BOTH party’s have in mind irregardless of WHAT the American people want. Then, they all head for the country club and pat each other on the backs and talk about how they can keep working two days a week and get reelected while screwing the people that’s paying their rotten asses. To hell with what happens to the country. The silent majority has been silent for way too long and that is what has gotten us into this mess. The silent majority has morphed into the TEA parties, and I can only hope before I die, that I can see this great country that WE grew up with is back on it’s feet with a motto of “NEVER AGAIN”. Vote alll their asses OUTTTT !!!

  5. TexasFred says:

OK, so we fire ALL of em… Who is going to run Congress and the Senate?

There are some good people in government, not too many, but some… We can’t fire ALL of them…

I wouldn’t fire Mr. Sam Johnson or Mr. Ralph Hall for anything, but BOTH of my Senators are useless… Some Senators are great, they need to serve, do we throw them out too?

Get a grip folks, we can’t fire em ALL, some don’t need to go… What we need to do is demand, and GET, nothing but the best, if they can’t deliver, then fire them…

  6. Ron Russell says:

As usual Fred, a very good post. I saw those words comes from Barry’s mouth the other day also. But another thing came out all along he was saying under his plan we could keep our doctor, but now finally he is admitting that may have not been the case because someone “sneaked” a provision in to that 2000 page bill that might not allow that. What a fine honest man we have sitting in the Oval Office—how did we get so lucky!

Like you I have very little use for RINO’s although I may agree with them on somethings when they pull sh*t like Graham and McCain did on immigration a few years back I really get pissed. They are like some old dogs who for the most part are nice to have around, but will occasionally snap at you—time to get rid of them then. I hate people who are elected saying one thing then turn on a dime once in office. I rather be in a room with a confirmed liberal than some stinking moderate who doesn’t know what he stands for and whose positions are determined by the prevailing winds.

  7. TexasFred says:

Ron, at least with a libber, you know where you stand, and what they stand for too…

Can’t seem to get that through a few GOP Bots heads…

  8. Robert says:

Your translation is absolutely correct. The Demorats have taken NO BLAME at all for ANYTHING since Kennedy was pres. The most dangerous demorat is on that has the all blame lanes covered and that’s the position they are looking for now.

The health Care DEBACLE is just one such event. the economy and the war on terror are a couple more.

The favorite line of demorats is the republicans are obstructionists..

Untrue, I think if the rats would have included TORT, and Cross line availability the health care issue would have been DONE a long time ago. The problem is Demorats don’t want that, because as you know, it’s all the rich companies fault that we are in the mess we are in. Obama talked about Bush’s prescription drug plan, that was OVERWHELMINGLY voted FOR by the Democrats! Obama has a unique stance, he was either absent for tough votes when he was a senator, or voted with the demorats when it was a party line vote…pretty simple to have a good record when you do that.

  9. Katie says:

BO has no idea how to run a country, only how to run for office.

He sees how hard actually running anything can be (he has never run anything but his mouth) and cries: “It’s too hard, somebody else do it.” Just like a child. What did he expect the job to be? Parties, trips and lobster every night?

We don’t need a 2000 page, pork-filled piece of manure to do the job. 4-5 small bills, with no pork or special privileges, that tackle each problem head on will do the trick.

  10. Top John says:

The suits that don’t “get it,” seem to overlook the glaring fact that we need LESS legislation in the health care department, not more. The laws that we currently have, the ones that stifle competition among insurance companies, have nurtured the debacle we have. The desire to give everyone a handout, and throw ever more money at this, will have predictable results.

  11. minuteman26 says:

Good post Fred. To prove your point, Obama had a meeting with the socialists in Congress today and let lhem know that he plans to keep on keeping on with Obamacare. The traitor POTUS also anounced the cancelation of the present space program saying he was leaving things in the hands of the chicoms and Russians. Now we’ll have a space station in the hands of our enemies. Could we have missiles aimed at this country from outer space and no recourse? This bastard has got to go!

  12. Right Truth says:

People keep saying “He has to go.” Yes, but the truth is he isn’t going anywhere until after the 2012 election … UNLESS somebody does something. Unless the GOP, courts, congress grow a pair and do something. What he is trying to do is unconstitutional. Judge Napalotano on Fox has said this over and over. So why doesn’t Congress or somebody challenge him? That’s the only way he’s going anywhere prior to the 2012 elections.

  13. Patrick Sperry says:

Gads… The obamanites are going to attempt to “ram” whatever they can down our throats while they are able too. Fact: It is a lot harder to get a law retracted than it is to get one passed. How will they accomplish that dirty deed? Why, Fred pointed it out right up there above! RINO’s, that’s how.

Toss them all? Not very realistic. Not to mention that the election cycles are set up for continuity, and, at least so far I am pretty happy with the representation at the federal level in my new home state.

What to do? Invest in precious metals, as Fred says. Support any person that expresses your values, that you believe that you can trust. Just because someone is a republican doesn’t mean that they are on board for those things that are critical for you. Then, stay vigilant, and speak up when people don’t do what you like. Do it loud and proud as we used to say…

  14. HoosierArmyMom says:

“OK, so we fire ALL of em… Who is going to run Congress and the Senate?”

Exactly Fred. The problem isn’t so simple that we can get rid of all of them… there is this little thing that many Americans are too lazy to do, that’s called VETTING THE CANDIDATES… BEFORE you step into the polls to vote! That is what needs to be done. If we use our brains and look at a candidates record we will know which ones will do “the People’s work”. It’s that simple.

And the point is… we need the ones who have been faithful to the American people in there because they have the experience to truly lead newbies in the intricacies of making laws and legislation.

In my book, a RINO is just a Progressive Republican who needs to change to the Democrat party instead of being a walking oxyMoron. JMHO.

    Great Post Fred!!!!

  15. BobF says:

    Excellent translation Fred.

  16. Dick Robie says:

Minuteman 26-ur right he has got to go. First Reid and Pelosi then Obama and his Chicago mafia.

I do disagree with Fred to some extent. I would like to see them all go, establish term limits, do away with Congressional Health Care and make them have the same as the folks and do away with the Golden retirement plan-they bitch about bonuses for wall street-they ought to look in the mirror.

Our creator gave us the intelligence and the resources to leave this planet-Cancel the space program-what a bloody jerk-one day we wont have the natural resources to get off this planet and that will be the end of the whole bloody thing.

The Tea Party telecasts were awsome —

    Have a nice day

  17. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

No, Fred, you won’t read of this information in a time and place where it becomes something akin to common knowledge and, of course, don’t you suspect it — purposely — will NOT be covered by any of the DEM/MSM thugs? Of course not.

Already, if you think about it, the Demorats have done, themselves, the job that the GOP couldn’t do: deteriorate the power on the Left. But so ironic that, in order to do that, we had to let them get INto the seats of power and start to demolish our nation.

Why? Because the GOP can’t seem to coalesce around itself.

We can potentially solve the problem with Leftists — perhaps. But even, ideally, if we could — what or whom would fill the vacuum?

    And would we be prepared?

And if the GOP got back into power, would the lessons have been truly learned?

    I remain unconvinced. . .

    BZ

  18. TexasFred says:

    BZ said, “I remain unconvinced”

    Indeed…
