Judge Says Kicking White Lawyers Out of Court to Lecture Black Defendants a ‘Mistake’

April 3rd, 2008 . by TexasFred

ATLANTA - Fulton County Superior Court Judge Marvin Arrington says he intended nothing racist when he ordered white lawyers from his courtroom while he lectured black defendants.

Arrington, who is black, ordered the lawyers from the courtoom on March 27th. He says he walked into the courtroom and saw a crowd who appeared to be “99.9 percent” black. He says he decided to talk privately with the suspects.

“I didn’t want to appear to be condescending, talking them down,” Arrington told Atlanta radio station WSB. The judge, who has been on the bench for six years, noted that he grew up on inner-city streets in Atlanta. Arrington says he urged people in the courtroom to take a hard look at their lives.

He says his message was “Get your life together, get in school, you can be a better you if you work hard.” Arrington says his message was essentially the same that comedian Bill Cosby has made.

In retrospect, Arrington says segregating the courtroom for those few minutes was a mistake and that when he lectures those in his courtroom this Thursday, he will invite everyone to listen.

Judge Says Kicking White Lawyers Out of Court to Lecture Black Defendants a ‘Mistake’

Let me tell you something, if this had been a WHITE judge, the ACLU and the NAACP would be all over this, demanding investigations, disbarment, jail time and financial compensation for those that were wronged by this grievous and deplorable action.

And you can make book on this, no apology, regardless of the sincerity, NO apology would be accepted, and there’s no way a certain sort of black presidential candidate would even begin to defend a WHITE judge for these actions, or suggest that his apology made him appear ‘contrite’.

There is a double standard in this nation, a double standard regarding what can be said by a WHITE man regarding a BLACK man.

A BLACK man can, and in most cases does say pretty much anything that pops into his mind concerning WHITE people and no one ever says or thinks a word about it, but if a WHITE man says the exact same thing, in the exact same context, but substitutes the word WHITE with the word BLACK, why, he’s a racist, a bigot, a Klan guy, some kind of neo-Nazi skinhead or some such…

And the BLACK man goes off on a tangent about being ‘held down’ by the WHITE man and tells the world that he is owed, OWED by God, owed reparations for slavery that was outlawed in the 1860′s.

Tell me there isn’t a double standard in this nation, tell me that the BLACK people of this nation would stand still for WHITE Entertainment Network, NAAWP, United WHITE Persons College Fund, WHITE Chamber of Commerce, and so forth and so on.

Racial disparity is wide spread in this nation, and racism is as much a factor today as it ever was, the only thing is, now it’s more of a reverse racism, and this judge just exhibited that fact, why aren’t Je$$ie Jack$on and AL $harpton raising all manners of hell in defense of these WHITE lawyers that were thrown out of court?

I’ll tell you why, sheer, unmitigated HYPOCRISY, duplicity at it’s finest, along with their racial bias and prejudice.

They scream about wanting equality in every way, but they won’t fight for the equality of ALL, regardless of their race?

I DO believe that the judge in the original has some race issues, and the good reverends are guilty of being what they accuse others of, closet bigotry and racism.

If I was told to get out of that court room, I would be pissed. People should spread the word about what happened!!! But even if we got the word out there; would it change anything? Some people are just plain stupid and I am tired of being glared at and considered racist because I am white girl.
I know for a fact, that back when I was in high school, if I would have pulled all the white girls into a conversation and told the black girls to go away; I would have been expelled. This is a shame!!!

It’s not about equality. Not for the black community, the Muslim community, the gay community or the “I want to marry my pet sheep” community (sorry, couldn’t think of any more communities).
It’s about demonizing the middle class, married, heterosexual, Christian, hard working white male. There, I said it. Of course, if you are a middle class, white Christian stay at home mom married to said white male, you’re demonized by the feminists who couldn’t get a man if they wanted one….. And, of course, it is worse if you are from the South and actually proud of your Southern heritage…….
Like Lisa, I would have pitched a fit and probably been led away by the bailiff - I would not have left if I were the attorney on the case…….
