Obama spurns GOP with expansive immigration orders
WASHINGTON (AP) — Spurning furious Republicans, President Barack Obama unveiled expansive executive actions on immigration Thursday night to spare nearly 5 million people in the U.S. illegally from deportation and refocus enforcement efforts on “felons, not families.”
The moves, affecting mostly parents and young people, marked the most sweeping changes to the nation’s fractured immigration laws in nearly three decades and set off a fierce fight with Republicans over the limits of presidential powers.
In a televised address to the nation, Obama defended the legality of his actions and challenged GOP lawmakers to focus their energy not on blocking his actions, but on approving long-stalled legislation to take its place.
“To those members of Congress who question my authority to make our immigration system work better, or question the wisdom of me acting where Congress has failed, I have one answer: Pass a bill,” Obama said.
Despite the president’s broad measures, more than half of the 11 million people living in the U.S. illegally will remain in legal limbo. SOURCE
My Southern and Confederate roots have been fully reawakened. I am no longer going to even attempt to be civil, it’s time to take this nation back from the clutches of a no good Kenyan SON OF A BITCH and the mealy-mouthed, turn the other cheek do-gooders and Obama asshats can like it or not, I am WAY beyond the point of giving a damn.
For far too long we have had to acquiesce to the demands of a race of people that is, for the most part, too damned lazy to swat a fly.
We have been subjected to the demands of people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan and other race-baiting SOBs that have had every opportunity afforded to make something of themselves and their lives, yet they choose to live in the ghettos, to rely on welfare and unemployment for a living, barring that, they rape, rob and steal in order to buy the drugs they use to corrupt their already weak brains even more.
We are forced to accept having highly qualified individuals being denied jobs because some highly UNQUALIFIED *affirmative action* ghetto rat needed to be put to work long enough for them to re-qualify for … wait for it… wait for it… Yes indeed, you probably already knew, unemployment or welfare.
Now we are going to see even more AMERICANS put out of work in order for Obama and Company to take care of another group of people that don’t even belong in this nation; ILLEGAL INVADERS.
At this moment in time there really is nothing the Senate can do, it is still in the hands of the despicable Democrats, but that is about to change, and when it does, if the GOP doesn’t use their huge majority to reverse any Executive Orders given by Obama, or to repeal any ILLEGAL laws that we’re posed by him and passed by his Democratic cronies, then it will truly be time to take ALL the garbage out in Washington, and I do mean ALL of it, if Americans have the BALLS to do so.
Barring that, I pray that the South may rise again and God Bless Texas!
I forced myself to watch that lying piece of shit tonight and was amazed how arrogant and cavalier he was without an audience in front of him. Had he made his declaration in front of a live audience, I’m sure he would have been heckeled and booed. The government clearly does not listen to WE THE PEOPLE anymore, they are all influenced by outside interests whose money they take in return for favorable legislation. We as a nation are doomed as a beacon of freedom unless we can clean up the corruption in DC. I know how you feel about the TEA party but they seem to be the only people who have a grip on what to do about this lawless imposter. Good post Fred. God bless us all.
At this point in time, the overthrow of the Obama regime would be a good thing. We’ll soon see how big the balls are in this new congress. They need to be ruthless in combating Obama and his minions. If they are ineffective, civil war is the only option left on the table.
My father came here legally, in 1951, from an Italian Refugee Camp, where he ended up after fleeing Macedonia after WW2 (A Macedonian Nationalist in the underground, he lost an eye sabotaging one of Tito’s railroads, hee, hee!).
He fled Communism for freedom and a better life and, despite living the last 18 years of his life with a mental illness (died 1988) he had no regrets.
If he’d lived thru the past 26 years he’d have recognized where this country is headed and been very pissed.
The interesting thing about my dad was that, because he spent the first couple years here in a Mexican migrant camp and working in a hotel kitchen, he learned Spanish 1st, not finding a need to learn English until he met my KY mom, in 1956, marrying her in 1957.
He carried his Green Card every day of his life (I have it safe and secure). Mom couldn’t get him to understand that getting his US citizenship would NOT make him less a Macedonian.
A man with a 4th grade education, the proudest moments of his life were when I graduated High School, and then college.
