Police: Officer Involved In Online Solicitation

ARLINGTON, Texas — Arlington police said a former officer turned himself into Dallas police on Friday after a warrant was issued for his arrest for online solicitation of a minor.

Investigators said that Dallas police notified them of an incident involving Anthony Hickman, 42, an off-duty officer at the time, in the morning of July 18. Police did not release any details about the incident.

‘We are deeply disturbed by these allegations,’ Arlington police Chief Theron Bowman said in a press release. ‘We will continue to cooperate with the Dallas Police Department’s investigation even though Mr. Hickman is no longer employed by the City of Arlington.”

And then there’s this, a much more detailed story:

Ex-cop suspected of online solicitation of minor

ARLINGTON - A police officer who resigned from the Arlington force Wednesday was booked into a Dallas jail Friday, authorities said.

Anthony Hickman, 42, turned himself in to Dallas authorities after investigators issued an arrest warrant for him on suspicion of online solicitation of a minor, according to Christy Gilfour, Arlington police spokeswoman.

Dallas police said Hickman was caught during a sting operation initiated by a law enforcement agency in South Carolina. The investigation went on for a little more than a month, said Sgt. Jaime Matthews, police spokeswoman. Detectives believe Hickman communicated with a minor in a sexually explicit manner, Matthews said.

Based on information from the sting operation, investigators obtained a search warrant and confiscated materials from Hickman’s Dallas home, Matthews said. Hickman was being held at Lew Sterrett Justice Center late Friday with bail set at $25,000, Matthews said.

This story goes into quite a bit more detail, folks, this story just broke tonight and the details are coming out little by little and there is a good side to it, the cops took a perv OFF the street…

I am guessing that his time spent in the Lew Sterrett Justice Center (Dallas County Jail) won’t be any too pleasant either, he was a cop and he IS charged with online solicitation of a minor, even the guys in jail don’t like pervs and child molesters…

Ya better cover your ass Anthony Hickman… Literally…

EDIT TO ADD: Police say man sent explicit images intended for teen girl

An Arlington police officer who authorities say sent sexually explicit images of himself to someone he thought was a minor was arrested Friday, days after he quit the police department.
(snip)
According to Dallas police, Mr. Hickman had been in e-mail contact with an undercover officer who was posing as a minor and had sent her images of himself masturbating.
