TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Gunfire from a pro-government militia killed one man and wounded several others Monday after hundreds of thousands of chanting opponents of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad marched in central Tehran to support their pro-reform leader in his first public appearance since disputed elections. The outpouring in Azadi, or Freedom, Square for reformist leader Mir Hossein Mousavi followed a decision by Iran’s most powerful figure for an investigation into the vote-rigging allegations.
Security forces watched quietly, with shields and batons at their sides.
Later, a group of demonstrators with fuel canisters set a small fire at a compound of a volunteer militia linked to Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard as the crowd dispersed from the square. As some tried to storm the building, people on the roof could be seen firing directly at the demonstrators at the northern edge of the square, away from the heart of the rally.
An Associated Press photographer saw one person fatally shot and at least two others who appeared to be seriously wounded.

One thing I have to say for the people in nations like Iran and Iraq, they are NOT afraid to take it to the streets. They know they will be facing armed troops loyal to whatever despot is in charge, but they go out there anyway. Some in this nation are very close to conducting similar actions. I wonder at what point do our TEA Party rallies become a threat to the despot at the head of OUR government?
The United States has been attacked, but we have never been invaded, and this picture tells you exactly WHY!!
The libbers, the leftards, the anti-gun cabal and the all around moonbat gun grabbers think they can make this a better, and safer nation if ALL the guns are gone. And the Despot in Chief says nothing to the contrary.

The only thing different about those countries over there is they have nothing to lose. Their way of life is so horrible. They’re hungry. Their religion sucks. What’s a couple of knots on the head? Or a beating? They have no medical, no dental absolutely No Rights Whatsoever. So when they head for the streets it’s like a big Party. Dad’s, son’s,Uncles, grandfathers, friends. Yee Haw.
But we do have Lots to lose here. Everything. And everyday it is slipping away. We are taxed to death. We have NO say in anything unless there’s Millions for the crooked politicians. I don’t see how it’s possible to disarm America. Esp Texas. There is no way in hell my family or friends would give up their RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS. We’ll see.
Damm good picture Fred, and you are absolutely correct about the apathetic and stupid setting back wringing their hands and crying about all the violence. They are the colaberators. No matter who is in power they’ll kiss their ass as long as they still keep getting their FREE shit. I can’t help but wonder what those pictures coming out of Iran would look like if those people in the streets HAD weapons. I also envision this happening in Iraq as soon as we leave.

I was singing Dixie a couple of weeks ago and my daughters didn’t know the words. I felt like a Failure. They taught us that song in Elem. guess it doesn’t get taught now.

I don’t see what the fuss in Iran is all about. it is just changing one right-wing nut case for another. Both men have been approved by the Mullahs to run for President. Neither will have any real power (the Mullahs control everything), and there will be no real change in Iran’s attitude towards us.
Now if there was a hope that the Mullahs would be toppled? Then we should be jumping for joy and singing Psalms to God.

I’m heading to Wall-Mart to see if they got any ammo in. 9mm and .45 ACP is getting hard to find and shops that have it have really jacked up the price. Wall-Mart is still selling it at a decent price. Picked up some 9mm for under $10 per box the other day. .45 for $18 per box.
