In Texas, a showdown at GOP corral

AUSTIN, Texas - Rick Perry, the state’s swashbuckling Republican governor, says his opponent spends tax dollars too freely. She’s too liberal. She’s too Washington. She doesn’t get what he calls “Texas values.”

One might imagine Perry’s opponent to be a Democrat, but she is Kay Bailey Hutchison, a Texas Republican born, bred and elected, serving her third term casting reliably conservative votes as a U.S. senator.

Hutchison’s decision to chase her long-held dream of becoming governor, and Perry’s refusal to yield, have created a messy battle for Republican votes in a state where GOP primaries were generally considered tea parties in the era before “tea party” took on a different meaning.

Perry is leading in the polls as Hutchison, often pinned in Washington because of the health-care debate, struggles to find a clear message and a compelling purpose for her campaign. With the primary scheduled March 2, she has money and history but only about 11 weeks to make her case.

Reliably conservative votes? Uh, lets take a look at that before it’s taken as the truth…

The 1st piece of evidence I am going to post is this: Kay Bailey Hutchison admits to mistake supporting bank bailout. Hutchison DID vote for the 1st bailout, the BUSH Bailout, and she has been soundly taken to task over it. So, what does she do? Political spin and deflection, oh, and blame HER vote on Rick Perry.

Then there was this little gem: Hutchison irks right by including gay judge as U.S. attorney pick. Kay, can you really say that was a Conservative move? A homosexual judge? For crying out loud, that’s a play right out of the DNC playbook!

And who can forget this one? Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison is CAGW’s October Porker of the Month. I know Kay may want us to forget it, but it’s just NOT going to happen. I made a vow to blast Kay *Bailout* Hutchison at every opportunity, this is one OF those opportunities!

Kay gets accused of being too Washington and it’s said that she just doesn’t get “Texas values.”? Well, how about this? Hutchison ‘pleased’ to have Cheney endorsement. Kay IS a Washington insider, by every definition of the word. She knows that even if she weren’t coming home to run for Texas Governor, she was going to face some serious threats in 2010 because of her less than stellar performance of late.

“But how can you say Miss Kay has been ‘less than stellar’ TexasFred?” you ask. “This article says she is serving her third term casting reliably conservative votes as a U.S. senator.”

Well, if the above isn’t enough to convince you that Kay isn’t all that she’s cracked up to be, hang on to your Stetson, I have more for you!

Miss Kay bailed out on the vote to defund ACORN. Sen. Kay *Bailout* Hutchison bails out on defunding ACORN. In all fairness, her vote wasn’t needed for this to pass, it carried by a huge majority, but it would have been nice for her to take a HARD stand against ACORN and it’s #1 supporter, Barack Hussein Obama!

Check it out. This link goes back to the Bush Bailout, and Kay was all over it. Congress OKs historic bailout bill

Kay is weak on Border Security too. I don’t care what her current ad says about how SHE, as in her personally, quadrupled Border Patrol forces here in Texas. Hutchison on defensive over border fence. Maybe Miss Kay needs to be reminded, “A nation without borders is not a nation.” ~Ronald Reagan~

And finally, there is this little snippet of truth, Kay Bailey Hutchison is a supporter of AMNESTY for ILLEGALS. I say that without stuttering in ANY way. Hutchison was a HUGE supporter of the Immigrant Dream Act, and thank God, it bit the dust. Immigrant ‘Dream’ Act Fails Key Senate Vote.

The MSM still calls Hutchison a Conservative. I have NO idea why because there is NO WAY that a REAL Conservative would vote for, or support, any of the above posted citation. Kay *Bailout* Hutchison is, at best, a RINO, Republican In Name Only.

Kay Bailey Hutchison, is retiring from the Senate to come home and run for Texas Governor. Many of us here in Texas are planning on making sure that Hutchison enjoys a nice, quiet retirement, OUT of public office. There is a great candidate vying Hutchison’s Senate seat, Michael Williams, and hopefully, when John Cornyn comes up for reelection again in 2014, we can replace his RINO/Socialist self with a REAL Conservative!

If there’s still a USA worth working with that is!

I totally support Rick Perry in his run for reelection as our Governor. Rick Perry supports Texas as a Sovereign State The Texas Sovereignty Movement. And not long ago, he came out and laid it ALL on the line with this message: Texas Can leave Union If It Wants To – Yes WE can!. And as you can imagine, the reaction was deafening: Democrats: Texas gov should disavow secession talk. I think we scared em. :P

Texas is ripe for moving on and once again becoming a Sovereign Republic. All things considered, that may not be a bad idea!

Kay Bailey has too much carpetbagger in her for my liking!
    Also speaks with forked tongue.
I really expect her to stop her campaign and bail out before the primary vote.
It’s time for her to retire gracefully, keep what friends she has, as she doesn’t need any more enemies.

It used to be said that “as California goes, so goes the rest of the country.” I would like to state that Texas is now leading the way. Great post, Fred.

Perry is the right man at the right time. Kay “Bailout” needs to retire to Houston so she can habla with the illegals she dearly adores.

Kay Bailey’s support of amnesty and siding with the democrats and John McCain on that was enough in itself for her to lose any future support from me. I recall that fight clearly and her position. As for Rick Perry and secession, I love the idea. Is he the second coming of John C. Calhoun? Seriouly we do need more leaders of his caliber.

    BULL SHIT! You have choices.

    1. Get people OFF of their lazy, apathetic asses, get the vote out and boot the bastards from office.

    2. Do NOTHING.

    3. STFU

    4. Move OUT of California…

No choices? No, more like NO motivation…

Fred - You left one out. 5. Storm the state house and hang the bastards. Just sayin. Probably would do the most good.

  8. comment number 8 by: TexasFred

minuteman26, I left that one off on purpose, anyone that would sit back and cry about “No Choices” hasn’t got the gumption to do a forceful takeover…

She’s on the campaign trail now Fred, and she’ll say ANYHING to get elected because they all know that they don’t have to keep their promises, or worry about them. The constituents
they figure are to peoccupied with dancing with the stars, and who the F’k is getting picked on the bachelor. When Michell Malken went on TV for this last rally against this health care bill, and she waved her hand and said c’mon, I’ll meet ya on the capitol steps, thousands followed her and met her there. What she should have said was…c’mon I’ll meet you on the steps, bring plenty of tar, feathers and ropes with ya.(this time)

I have to do some editing here. I meant to say Michell BACHMAN, not MALKEN. Sorry about that. My bad. Hey! I ain’t perfect ya know!!!!! Maybe we can talk Fred to put in an….EDIT POST. Is that a possibility Fred, or are ya just gonna tell me to THINK before I type? LOL

Kay will Not get my vote or my support!!! Talked to her at a State Republican Convention some years ago…had some questions for her…..so I could determine her World View. WOW…i was much less than impressed!!!! RINO all the way!!!!

I say Secede right after we re-elect Rick!!

Then…give all Libturds and RINOs…and Illegals one week to leave the Great Republic Of Texas, after which…we declare “Open Season”!!!!!

We’ll need the room, you know, for the other true patriots that will be streaming into our Brand New Republic, from those states that still remain in the USSSA!!!!

    Keep Your Powder Dry!

BoBo, I love the great state of Texas but if you want to know who is leading the way, read this: American Grand Jury

Texas is lagging far behind Oklahoma and could take a pointer or two.
I also like Rick Perry but he needs to get a set and deliver Texas from the crap coming down from DC, before a bunch of Texans leave for better hunting grounds. I for one want to live in a state where I can carry my Bible in one hand and my gun in the other.

Robin, strange you should mention that, I placed 2 messages on Perry’s Facebook page today concerning sovereignty…

It’s time to get this thing working…

Ya’ll are probably going to be able to stun RINO Kay when you vote Perry in, she’ll be shocked. Ya know she’s going to expect a win since she served 3 Senate terms. She’ll see that when it comes to local politics, Conservatives wont put up w/ BS & we’re an unforgiving bunch w/ great memories! You pointed out so many neg things that only an idiotic person would vote for her.

C’mon. Put a faggot judge in his seat? RINO all over it. Amnesty to Illegals, Not voting to Defund ACORN, etc. What a loser. She’s gotten used to kissing ass in the Senate. Her times up. I have no doubt Perry will win it for ya’ll! @ Robin! Damn, Oklahoma’s looking like they have some real winners! Conservatives laying down the law. I love it, about time! Sounds like great leadership!!

Oh Yeah, @ BZ….you whiners are part of the problem. Shit or get off the pot but don’t expect sympathy from anyone when you don’t get off your f’ing ass! Your comment made me sick!
