Obama positioning for immigration reform

Obama positioning for immigration reform
WASHINGTON — With the health-care battle still unfinished, the Obama administration has been laying plans to take up an issue that could prove even more divisive — a major overhaul of the nation’s immigration system.

Senior White House aides privately have assured Latino activists that the president will back legislation next year to provide a path to citizenship for the estimated 12 million undocumented workers now living in the United States.

In addition to the citizenship provision, the emerging plan will stress efforts to secure U.S. borders against those trying to cross illegally. But that two-track approach was rejected repeatedly in the past by Republicans and other critics who insist a border crackdown must demonstrate its effectiveness before any action on citizenship is considered.

Whatever proposal Obama puts forward will likely be complicated by the calendar: Midterm elections are in November, and polls show the public is more worried about joblessness and the fragile economy than anything else.

Obama positioning for immigration reform

Is Barack Hussein Obama dead set on bringing this nation into CIVIL WAR?

I am convinced that the answer to that question is a resounding YES! Immigration reform was one of the reasons George W. Bush lost as much support as he did during that last 2 years of his presidency.

There are many, and I am one of them, that still believe that ILLEGAL immigration, our wide open borders after 9-11 and the lack of any definitive action to secure those border, and remove the ILLEGALS of this nation, will be the downfall OF America as we once knew it.

To legalize these ILLEGALS, to give them any kind of amnesty, to open the door to citizenship, will not do anything to alleviate the problems that America is facing. Any of the just mentioned actions will only further complicate our problems and plunge us further into the abyss.

The White House already has a packed agenda for 2010: economic recovery, global-warming legislation and tougher regulation of financial institutions.

If our lawmakers have ANY sense, I mean any, even a small shred, they will tell Obama to forget it. The ObamaCare debacle is going to cost quite a few Senators and Congressmen their jobs in 2010, any attempt to push through a bill that gives preferential treatment, or a fast track to citizenship to ILLEGALS will only add fuel to the fire that IS burning!

As a candidate, Obama vowed to take up immigration during his first year in office. That deadline will come and go. Further delay could anger Latino voters, who came out in force for the president and congressional Democrats in 2008.

Latino voters did support Obama and his BS, they bought it, hook, line and sinker. Dallas County was carried by Obama, as was Harris County (Houston) and several counties along the Mexican border. Texas, as a whole, rejected Obama and will do so again in 2012.

An immigration bill was introduced in the House earlier in the month, and Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., who chairs a subcommittee on immigration, is heading the effort to cobble together a bipartisan coalition in the Senate.

And just look at WHO is leading the charge! Chucky Schumer. That should tell ANY thinking person ALL they need to know about this coming immigration reform push. If Schumer is for it, it can’t be good for America! Thanks New York, we ALL appreciate your wonderful Sen. Chucky.

McCain backed George W. Bush’s failed attempt to overhaul immigration in his second term. But he has not committed to supporting the Obama bill, saying he worried the president would not endorse a temporary guest-worker program.

A fine example of exactly WHY I was, and still remain, so dead set AGAINST John McCain. That doddering old fool needs to be making commercials for adult bibs and Depends! McCain is even more dangerous than Obama I believe.

Obama is a hard core libber and a One World Government socialist. We pretty much know what to expect from him. John McCain is a pathetic RINO, a Republican In Name Only, and that is the most dangerous animal on the face of the North American continent. You never have ANY idea what a RINO will do next.

I have friends that still think Juan McCain hung the moon. Some folks still think George W. Bush was a great POTUS. Compared to Obama, he wasn’t so bad, but he tried to hurt America with his push for immigration reform. John McCain was sucked up so tight on GWBs ass, had Bush made a quick turn in any direction, McCain would have suffered a broken neck.

Not the worst thing that could have happened actually!

    Retroactive Term Limits.

Two bag limit for seniors with health issues (shoot two congresscritters, get free housing and medical for the rest of your life).

Since they seem dead set against listening to the will of The People, it would appear that the left is going to try to shove any and every failed socialist program down our throats.

I’m up here in NY now, Fred. I’m working hard to help the good people up here to unseat Chucky very soon. NY has more registered Republicans and Independents than Democrats. I was amazed at that statistic. I think the chances of ousting Clucky Chucky are pretty good.

If the GOP and Indys have a majority, they damn sure need to exercise it…

Okay, let met put this question out there. First of all, I do not support amnesty for 12 million illegal immigrants. I think that is the wrong approach. On the other hand, do we really believe it is logistically feasible or even possible to deport those same 12 million illegal immigrants? That is a problem that will have to be addressed, no matter how we go about tackling this issue.

IF the rest of the states would follow the lead of Arizona with two laws, they would be self-deporting:

    1) Make it a requirement that the EMPLOYER verify the hiring documents. Failure to do so emperils the business license of the company KNOWINGLY hiring illegals.

    2) Make sure the Dems stay in control - the country’s economy will be tanked so bad that they will all head home for the better paying jobs…

Larry, it IS feasible, all it takes is one Executive order and the National Guard, Border Patrol, LEOs and a hell of a lot of Americans get to work and make that great roundup!

March the bastards south just like cattle.. Close the border, secure it, man it, arm it and shoot ANY son of a bitch that comes back over..

This is war, and war is best left to the warriors I think…

I have no use whatsoever for those who come here illegally, or over stay their visa’s which amounts to the same thing. Just a few years back a lost a very close friend, a mexican national who lived south of the border. I had know Tony Chavez for 30 years. He had on several occasions lived and worked in this country legally and when his time was up he returned to his native state in south Mexico where he lived until he died, in poverty. He was a good law-abiding citizen of Mexico who when he came to this country respected our laws. Those who sneak across our borders and those who over stay their welcome are not needed or wanted by most Americans. Its nothing to do with race, but rather the law. Hard working legal mexicans are welcome in controlled numbers, but the free loading, criminal element is what we mostly get these days and that’s a turn off for most of us and I should add a danger to our security and our economy. Those who favor what amounts to an open border are only those politicans who think they will benefit from a new Mexican vote living in Dallas, Tuscon, or Podunk, USA.

benefit from a new Mexican vote

Not to be confused with the New Mexican vote… that is, legal residents of the state of New Mexico!

Deporting illegals was called Operation Wetback. It took place in 1954 under President Eisenhower and it worked. We had a General in the White House and a General running the INS who got it done.

Personally, the only path to citizenship that should be offered to any foreign entity is at least 4 years of completed service in the US Military branch of a young person’s choosing. Then give them and their parents or spouse citizenship providing they can all speak ENGLISH in that time. Also, while a young person serves, they can give parents and spouses “guest worker status” so they can show they are serious about being citizens. I know Mexican Americans who have been good, hardworking citizens and every one of them have served in the military or were raised by parents who served. I imagine a small percentage would go for that deal and the rest could be tossed back to Mexico!!!

I think the ones who chose to break our laws to come here would not make good citizens to begin with.

  11. comment number 11 by: minuteman26

Another Operation Wetback would sure create a lot of jobs. Jobs to get rid of the illegals and jobs for any who want to take the ones the illegals leave behind. Probably would take about 2-3 years to get that job done. Ya’ll have a Happy New Year.

  12. comment number 12 by: Patrick Sperry

Operation Wetback… I kinda like the sound of that. As long as it means round them up, finger print and DNA test them. Then, route march them back to where they came from, and, should they even so much as try to escape, make their backs wet, with blood. Same thing if they ever try to return…

And for those that say it is just not practical, I say bull shit. You do it the same way that they got here. One at a time…

  13. comment number 13 by: TexasFred

Patrick, you’re gonna piss off that libber, wetback loving POS at Long Beach College and get us ALL called racists again!

    Cool!

  14. comment number 14 by: LD Jackson

I know I am in the minority opinion here, but I really do believe deporting 12 million illegal immigrants would be harder than you think. I am not advocating amnesty or anything like that, but I believe the logistics and the practicality of the problem have to be taken into account.

  15. comment number 15 by: HoosierArmyMom

I’m considering changing my middle name to “Racist” since every time I speak about how corrupt this Administration is some troll calls me a racist. Maybe it’s time to embrace the title.

  16. comment number 16 by: TexasFred

Larry, if it was easy, anyone could do it…

  17. comment number 17 by: LD Jackson

That is true, TexasFred. The really sad part is that the situation was ever allowed to get as screwed up as it is now. That should never have been allowed.

  18. comment number 18 by: TexasFred

President Dwight D. Eisenhower was the last POTUS that had the balls to address this with anything other than a cursory pass at vagueness..

You’re right, it NEVER should have happened, but any time folks like us call for an end to it, and a reversal of course, we get called the most vile racists ever. We’re accused of keeping the *brown* people down…

The funny thing is, for me anyway, I don’t care what color they are, if they are ILLEGAL, kick their asses OUT of the USA…

  19. comment number 19 by: extex_cop

I’ve always thought the best action to take when catching and deporting an illegal is to put them in a chain gang…marching them south…one crew picks up trash…while the next crew behind them pushes mowers. The women will walk behind them caring for their children.

Two meals a day made up of refried beans. flour tortillas and bottled water.

They set up their own tents that night…any man ( or woman )caught outside the tent will be shot trying to escape.

I think this would make them think twice about crossing back into the USA.

  20. comment number 20 by: LD Jackson

They may accuse us of being racist, but if something doesn’t change, Americans are going to be the minority. That’s a sad state of affairs, my friend.

  21. comment number 21 by: Silver Fox

The situation is what it is and how it got this way is not the question. The United States has never, NEVER been a nation of no we can’t, we can do whatever we decide to to, even hauling 12,000,000 illegals south on bicycles if necessary. But there are much easier ways. These people along with vote hungery politicans have ruined CA and now that state is looking to the nation to bail them out. CA the once golden state and the pride of the nation has been corrupted to the status of a third rate banana republic. Personally I say give that state to Mexico along with the progressives who love the open borders and allow no immigration from that hell hole.

  22. comment number 22 by: Necromancer

That’s why the dhimocrati party wants to let them in here. They figure they are buying all the votes with the illegals.

  23. comment number 23 by: Doc Roy

Fred, Happy New Year! What is this BS about 12 million illegals in the US? That is a drop in the bucket! Count twenty mil and keep counting. When the go is sounded to open the gates to a short cut to American citizenship every extended family member of every illegal from south of the border will show up in the USA. Count on it. What gets me is that stinking Cinco de Mayo crap. Up here in Denver Mexican flag waving Mexicans take over whole sections of town and several major streets/thoroughfares/avenues to celebrate an alien holiday. (Whities are publicly advised to stay our of those areas.) You see where the Mexican loyalties lie—sure not for the USA. I get sick of seeing their Mexican flags waving year round. I seethe when I know that illegals are in the front of the line for medical care in the Obama “Medical Care” bill.
IN 2010 I WILL BE SUPER ACTIVATED! ACTIVATED! ACTIVATED!

  24. comment number 24 by: Katie

If this happens expect to see 60 million illegals in 10 years. 10 years ago there were 4 million illegals until Clinton gave them amnesty.

  25. comment number 25 by: mrchuck

I also agree that we have more than 20 million illegal mexicans here in the USA.
None of them really want to stay here and be a minority,
THEY WANT TO TAKE OVER THE AREAS WHERE THEY RESIDE!!!

Just go check out Santa Ana, CA. What a sewer hole they have turned that area into.

Mexico is a socialist country. Always has been
Why return when they can make their area of the USA into the same stink hole they loved back in Mexico.

  26. comment number 26 by: HoosierArmyMom

Yeah and get taxpayer handouts from our government to pay for the transformation!!!

Mexicans bought the house I grew up in. They have appliances in the driveway, old license plates nailed above the garage door, and kitchen chairs sitting outside. They have raised chickens outside in the backyard.

2 years ago I had 3 wooden skids laying against the side of my house and a legally plated van in the driveway waiting on my son to get his driver’s license. The city declared it an abandoned vehicle and gave me 2 weeks to get it out of MY driveway and to get rid of the skids! Can you tell that I live in a libber controlled city??? But the Mexican’s can trash things up to their heart’s content.

With all the discussion on immigration I thought I needed to make my opinion heard. The term illegal alien means exactly that. This individual disregarded and violated US laws, entered the US illegally, no visa or documentation allowing entry. He, she has committed criminal acts against US immigration laws. Being an illegal alien this person is not eligible for health care, schooling, social services or any other benefit received by US citizens.
Why aren’t our Law Enforcement Officers enforcing the laws. Here in Framingham there are many illegal aliens living, working and receiving benefits their not entitled to. Many employers are taking advantage of illegal offering jobs at a lower salary. While not verifying citizenship or Social Security numbers as required by-law for employment, this makes them law breakers as well. These are jobs that should be held by US citizens. Do you think this might hurt the economy and unemployment rate?

In closing I would ask for all to call, write, fax or visit their representatives and tell them in no uncertain terms. NO to illegal aliens, NO to amnesty, NO to benefits for illegal aliens. Just say NO.

    CAVOK said NO
