Arizona law sparks debate in El Paso

EL PASO — The Mexican consul’s office in El Paso issued a statement criticizing the new Arizona measure that requires local police to enforce immigration laws.

The consul’s statement reflects the Mexican federal government’s position on the controversial law.

“Although the Mexican government recognizes the sovereign rights of all countries to decide policies that apply in their own territories, nevertheless, we cannot remain indifferent over a law like (Arizona) Senate Bill 1070, which has the potential to affect the human rights of thousands of Mexican people,” the statement said.

“Criminalization is not the way to resolve the phenomenon of undocumented immigration … The Mexican government will use its resources to defend the rights and dignity of Mexicans in Arizona.”

Debate in El Paso is great, I want debate, and immediate action, in AUSTIN!

I want our state legislature ALL OVER this issue, and I don’t mean a year from now, I don’t mean just before the next election, I mean NOW! And I am fairly certain that I am not the only LEGAL American VOTER in the great state of Texas that feels this way!

“Although the Mexican government recognizes the sovereign rights of all countries to decide policies that apply in their own territories, nevertheless, we cannot remain indifferent over a law like (Arizona) Senate Bill 1070, which has the potential to affect the human rights of thousands of Mexican people,”

Human rights only seem to matter to Mexico when it’s the American society that is taking the hits, providing education, healthcare and the like. I haven’t heard of any massive social welfare reforms or programs in Mexico. Maybe that’s why, coupled with Mexico’s lack of human rights in it’s own nation, maybe that’s why we have so many Mexicans coming to the USA illegally!

Maybe we need to simplify OUR immigration laws, make them so simple that even a child can understand their exact intent! How about this?

1. If you migrate to this county, you must speak the native language

2. You have to be a professional or an investor. No unskilled workers allowed.

3. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections, all government business will be conducted in our language.

4. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.

5 Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.

6. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs.

7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 400 times the daily minimum wage.

8. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are not allowed waterfront property. That is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.

9. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no badmouthing our president or his policies, if you do you will be sent home.

10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.

Harsh, you say? The above laws belong to the immigration laws of MEXICO!

It’s really funny how Mexico, and pretty much every other nation on earth, can enforce their laws regarding immigration, and enforce them stringently, but if WE enforce OUR immigration laws, WE are violating human rights!

Does anyone else see the hypocrisy of that?

And here’s another graphic reminder of how WE are the only ones that aren’t supposed to enforce OUR immigration laws:

IF YOU CROSS THE -

NORTH KOREAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET 12 YEARS HARD LABOR.

IRANIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU ARE DETAINED INDEFINITELY.

AFGHAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU GET SHOT.

SAUDI ARABIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE JAILED.

CHINESE BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU MAY NEVER BE HEARD FROM AGAIN.

VENEZUELAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE BRANDED A SPY AND YOUR FATE WILL BE SEALED.

CUBAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE THROWN INTO POLITICAL PRISON TO ROT.

BUT, IF YOU CROSS THE U.S. BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET:
1 – A JOB,
2 – A DRIVER’S LICENSE,
3 – A SOCIAL SECURITY CARD,
4 – WELFARE,
5 – FOOD STAMPS,
6 – CREDIT CARDS
7 – SUBSIDIZED RENT OR A LOAN TO BUY A HOUSE,
8 – A FREE EDUCATION,
9 – FREE HEALTH CARE,
10 – A LOBBYIST IN WASHINGTON
11 – BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF PUBLIC DOCUMENTS PRINTED IN YOUR LANGUAGE
12 – AND THE RIGHT TO CARRY YOUR COUNTRY’S FLAG WHILE YOU PROTEST THAT YOU DON’T GET ENOUGH RESPECT

The nations listed above are the ones that scream the loudest about intolerance and racist Americans. Again I ask, does anyone else see the hypocrisy?

It’s time to stand up and FIGHT America. Arizona is blazing a trail and the rest of these United States need to support Arizona and follow suit.

It’s not going to make Barack Hussein Obama happy, it’s not going to make the 20 some odd million or more illegals in this nation happy, but it will make the vast majority of LEGAL, hard working, tax paying and VOTING Americans ecstatic!

If the damn feds won’t do their job, it’s way past time for the states to step up! They can call me any names they want, but if we’re going to be a land of laws, then by God, how about we actually ENFORCE those laws! And the Mexican consulate can bite my big white butt!

  2. minuteman26 says:

Said if before and I’ll say it again: Screw Mexico!! Who are they to tell the United States how to run its imigration policy. Until Mexico gets its act together, that country should be boycotted by all US citezens. Am with you on this Fred, Texas should be in lockstep with Arizona on the illegal immigration issue. Time for Perry to call a special session of the legislature.

  3. ozarkguru says:

Great Post. We’re invaded and the Federal Government does nothing but criticize the states that do something. I am not anti-Mexican or anti-Hispanic. I am anti-illegal. And I am anti- giving illegals a fast track to legal citizenship.

  4. mrchuck says:

I am awaiting the first Texas politician to do something here in Texas, say something, write something, hell anything!!!

But so far, all is silent.

    I am now wondering why???

  5. Katie says:

This law should be in all 50 States. And enacted immediately!

  6. Bluebonnet Sue says:

mrchuck: the reason WHY is the one it has been for all these many years. It is spelled v-o-t-e-s. Instead of doing what is good for the country, it is their cushy political jobs they are trying to protect. They don’t want to lose the votes of the Latino Community and those who sympathize with them. The longer the politicians can stay in their jobs, the more they can feather their nest. I know you know that and your question was probably a rhetorical one. My question… not rhetorical… is, are there ANY elected officials in either State or Federal governments who have the guts to do anything substantial to keep the borders secure? So far all we seem to get is ” a flashy show with a very thin plot .”

  7. ng4779 says:

US Constitution Article IV Section 4:

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

Someone tell me why what is so offensive about protecting oneself?

  8. cary says:

Someone tell ME why my state had to go and enact this law, when the FEDERAL law was already there?

WHY is the state of Arizona needing to expend money out of it’s budget to do the FEDERAL’S job?

Yes, it sucks that we had to do it - but 70%+ of the LEGAL voters in this state thought it was a good idea and a NEEDED measure, since the FEDS weren’t gonna do anything about it.

  10. Robert says:

Here’s some facts that seem to be missing in the debate:

Fact: 83% of homicide warrants in Phoenix, AZ are issued for illegal aliens.

-95 percent of homicide warrants in Los Angeles are issued for illegal aliens. Additionally, 67 percent of the 17,000 outstanding fugitive felony warrants in that city are issued for illegal aliens.

-86 percent of homicide warrants issued in Albuquerque, New Mexico are issued for illegal aliens.

-In Operation Predator, ICE arrested and deported 6,085 illegal alien pedophiles. There have been many studies which suggest that each pedophile molests and average of 148 children over their lifetime. Considering that estimate, the deportees alone could have accounted for 900,580 victims.

-29 percent of the U.S. prison population is comprised of illegal aliens, at an annual cost to the American taxpayers of more than $1.6 billion.
    Source

So someone please tell my WHY the hell California, Texas and New Mexico aren’t all doing what AZ did?

Besides that Fred, AZ’s law is NO TOUGHER than current federal law, and AZ’s law actually depends on the FEDS to take the illegals from the state if the state finds out they are illegally in country. The feds are run by Homeland Sec and ICE answers to Janet Napolitano who is against this action…Mmmm, what are the chances any illegals will be sent back if stopped by a trooper in AZ?…

IMO this is going to be a KLSTRFK either way..

The other thing people should know about AZ is they are extremely smart. What law did they pass prior to this law? THE CCW without permit law. Mmm, do you think they expected some trouble, and wanted the population of AZ to be able to defend themselves??

  11. cary says:

    Aw, geez, Robert:

The other thing people should know about AZ is they are extremely smart. What law did they pass prior to this law? THE CCW without permit law. Mmm, do you think they expected some trouble, and wanted the population of AZ to be able to defend themselves??

Had to go and put two and two together in such a public forum, man? Couldn’t keep it to yourself, dude?

    Jealous much?

    Oh, and this just in:

Legal AND Illegal Immigrants “Don’t Feel Wanted”

Yeah, I know, that’s not the same headline. But it’s nicer than saying “Illegal Immigrants and Their Cry Baby Supporters Get A Clue”!!

  12. cary says:

Oh, and my apologies to those states they keep moving to. My advice is to get your lawmakers to follow our lead.

  13. HoosierArmyMom says:

I only disagree with one of those Fred, though I understand the thought behind it (it eliminates a party trying to seize and entire population as it’s “voting block”) and that would be #4. Once an immigrant achieves being a tax paying, property owner or serves in the military they are proving they want to be a contributing citizen and I feel they would earn the right to vote. Otherwise, nada. Overall, it is a good idea to make them earn citizenship and basic rights.

  14. TexasFred says:

HAM, you DO realize? That’s MEXICAN LAW

  15. HoosierArmyMom says:

Oh… I didn’t. I missed that little detail… maybe we should adopt it??? LOL!!! [banging head on keyboard… DOH!!!!] Oh, I must be brain dead to miss that!

  16. HoosierArmyMom says:

This begs the question, why is it OK for a 3rd world nation to have common sense laws that are enforced, but here there are those who squeal that “common sense” is politically incorrect???

  17. Kate says:

    But….but… it’s so MEAN!

    /snark

  18. TexasFred says:

If you’ll notice, it’s Hispanics, Mexicans, Dems, Libbers and supporters of ILLEGALS and amnesty that are making all the noise.

These people are as dumb as a bag of dog crap, and officer has to have PROBABLE CAUSE to make a stop, an officer can’t just say, “Hey, partner, let’s go f*ck over some wetbacks!*

No decent, conscientious officer is going to jeopardize his career, or a good arrest, by doing something that stupid…

  19. TexasFred says:

Well Kate, as we ALL know, LIFE is a bitch…

She’s an even BIGGER bitch if you’re an ILLEGAL!! 😛
