Obama talks race, pop culture on ‘The View’

NEW YORK (AP) - President Barack Obama said Thursday that the racial firestorm that led to the ouster of a black Agriculture Department official was a “phony controversy” generated by the media. He said his administration overreacted by forcing her out.

In an interview on ABC’s daytime talk show “The View,” Obama said the forced resignation of Shirley Sherrod shows racial tensions still exist in America.

“There are still inequalities out there. There’s still discrimination out there,” Obama said. “But we’ve made progress.”

Sherrod was forced to resign after a conservative website posted an edited video of her speaking about race. Sherrod said the video took her remarks out of context. When her full remarks were discovered, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack apologized and offered Sherrod a new job at the department.

Racism and discrimination are still out there?

Well I’ll be damned, finally, after all this time, a statement by Barack Hussein Obama that I can totally agree with. I mean 100%, he hit that one right one the head AGREE with!

But wait a minute;

Obama pinned much of the blame for the incident on a media culture that he said seeks out conflict and doesn’t always get the facts right. But he added, “A lot of people overreacted, including people in my administration.”

All of this Shirley Sherrod stuff was a media fabrication? Is that what the President is basically saying? Is he going for that old axiom of *Tell a lie often enough and it becomes truth* thing? Is he saying that RACISM only exists in us WHITE folks?

Maybe the POTUS hasn’t seen or heard this;

I’m sure it’s an unintentional oversight by the POTUS and his handlers, we all know that Obama is a bastion of racial equality. Right?

I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites….I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.

That hate hadn’t gone away; it formed a counter narrative buried deep within each person and at the center of which stood white people- some cruel, some ignorant.

That’s just how white folks will do you. It wasn’t merely the cruelty involved; I was learning that black people could be mean and then some. It was a particular brand of arrogance, an obtuseness in otherwise sane people that brought forth our bitter laughter. It was as if whites didn’t know they were being cruel in the first place. Or at least thought you deserving of their scorn. White folks.

The submission to Western Civilization and its most outstanding offspring, American civilization, is, in reality, surrender to white supremacy.

Michelle Shares Obama’s Racism

Further integration and/or assimilation into a white culture and social structure that will only allow me to remain on the periphery of society; never becoming a full participant.

However, with the increasing integration of Blacks into the mainstream society, many ‘integrated Blacks’ have lost touch with the Black culture in their attempts to become adjusted and comfortable in their new culture–the White culture. Some of these Blacks are no longer able to enjoy the qualities which make Black culture so unique or are unable to share their culture openly with other Blacks because they have become so far removed from these experiences and, in some instances, ashamed of them because of their integration. SOURCE

So, let me see if I have this straight; the Obama’s are all about RACIAL EQUALITY, at least that seems to be what they are saying NOW.

Barack Hussein Obama says that racism STILL exists in America. Ms. Obama speaks to the old guard NAACP and coincidentally (?), the TEA Party is labeled RACIST by the NAACP.

The Obama family attended Jeremiah Wright’s church for 20 years and only disavowed his after HIS racist rants were exposed and made public?

They sat through 20 years of his “GOD DAMN AMERICA” and are trying to tell the American people that there’s still a bit of racism alive in America?

Am I the only one that sees the utter hypocrisy of the words spoken by both of the Obama’s?

Sure, there is still racism in America, it’s alive and well in many Americans, White, Black, ALL races and colors, and it’s not going away any time soon, not until ALL of America becomes 100% color blind. And judging by some past statements from Obama and Company, some Black folks aren’t giving up on their racism, no matter what their current pandering says.

Many so-called Conservative and grass roots groups are afraid to address these issues for fear of being called RACIST themselves. I’m not, and I will continue to address these issues, and will do something that politicians, for the most part, are afraid to do.

I will call a spade a spade.

    You bet I’m prejudicial.
I have my own personal likes and dislikes.
There are certain types of dogs and cats I like.
Their are certain types of cars I like.
Their are certain types of politics that I like and dislike.
And there are certain types of people that I like and dislike.
    SO WHAT.
As long it is not against any of our laws on the books, I will continue to be exactly like I am.

Obama went on The View and instantly brought the viewership IQ down 5 points. But on the plus side, he brought in some much needed estrogen to the show…

The Jug-Eared Jackass is trying to blame the media for what happened to that woman but when in fact, it was his administration which didn’t have the fact and demanded her resignation. Democrats are doing all they can to blame Fox News but when all it was, was just a blogger who failed to play the rest of the video.

Here Howard Dean gets slapped down by Chris Wallace when Dean tries to blame Fox News. It’s too bad on one on the View would call Obama on it but we know better than to expect that.

There will always be racism in America. As long as there are Jesse Jackson’s, Al Shaprton’s, and the NAACP, there will be racism. Racism has made them wealthy and powerful people and they will promote it with their dying breath.

I’m racist, but not in the fashion the POSPOTUS thinks. I’m racist against those that fulfill the the stereotypical model that all Nigro’s are this or all Mexican’s are that. I have many black friends that are educated and more than likely a hell of allot smarter than myself that are on the same side of the fence that I’m on and think O’Bamasiah play’s the racist card way too much. I also have many Mexican’s friends in the racing world that ain’t to smart that depend on me to do fuel map math. Most all of them are here legal or their parents were legal when they came over. Where my racism kicks in when we have illegals that are marching on government property waving the their national flags claiming that they have been mistreated. Or black folks screaming oppression while they’re drawing welfare checks, unemployment checks, and driving a brand new car. However when I take a trip down to my local dealership I get shown the mid digit by the loan officer and told to bad so sad. So I may be a little racist or maybe just bitter. But I also think I have a legitimate reason to be as most everyone else.

On just a side note. How can we be racist if we are all part of the same human race?

Crawling back under my rock now.

  5. Steve Dennis says:

Barack Obama continues to blame the media for all of his problems, it is time for him to grow up and accept responsibility. Democrats are the ones who continue to call their opponents racists instead of debating the issues on their merits. We will never be a color blind nation until we are rid of all Democrats.
