Exclusive: Gibbs eyed for DNC chair

Democratic insiders are taking the temperature of some top party donors about the possibility of naming White House press secretary Robert Gibbs as chairman of the Democratic National Committee heading into President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign in 2012, senior officials tell POLITICO.

Under the scenario being tested, Tim Kaine, the current DNC chairman and former governor of Virginia, would be named to a top administration post, perhaps in the Cabinet, the officials said.

Exclusive: Gibbs eyed for DNC chair - Mike Allen - POLITICO.com

I LOVE Politico! That said;

Robert Gibbs as head of the DNC? Oh hell yeah! Right now. Put him in there and let Caspar Milquetoast have a shot at it. I think it’s the best move the DNC could ever make. For the GOP.

Regarding the GOP; until such time that the Big Tent is taken down and the resident clown in charge, Michael Steele, is removed, the DNC won’t be any worse for wear if they do make a moron like Gibbs their chairman. Tit for tat so to speak.

Gibbs joined Obama in April 2004, as communications director for his U.S. Senate race, and later was his Senate communications director. Gibbs was communications director of Obama’s presidential campaign before becoming “senior strategist for communications and message” during the general election.

I wonder? Is Gibbs the one that taught Hussein Obama to read a teleprompter so well?

If Gibbs is the *message* guy, the message is messed up. Hope and Change is a fallacy. Obama is a failure and the nation is in a bigger mess than at any time I can remember over the last 50 or so years. Blame Bush can only go SO far…

I can see why the Democrats would want Gibbs as DNC chairman though; he can do even more to bring damage to America if Conservatives don’t get totally fired up and moving like never before.

The Obama regime MUST GO! If they aren’t removed from office, America is DEAD!

But if the GOP and RNC wants CONSERVATIVES, and TEA Party people to get fired up, then they, the GOP/RNC need to run candidates that are worth getting fired up over.

The logic for a Chairman Gibbs, according to one official: It would “put the Obama imprimatur on the DNC, once and for all,” and install a “great partisan fighter” as the face of the national party for the reelection campaign. “It’s a brilliant idea if he ends up deciding he wants to do it,” said one official who has been consulted.

‘It’s a brilliant idea…’ That’s their story and they’re sticking to it! :P

Another rationale: David Plouffe, campaign manager of Obama for America, is expected to come into the White House as a senior adviser or deputy chief of staff with operational responsibilities, depending on how the West Wing is restructured in coming weeks.

The Dems say they aren’t afraid, they believe that TEA Party excitement, Conservative involvement and overall disgust from the right isn’t real. They believe they have a lock on the House, Senate and Oval Office, but it sure looks like they are trying to rally the BIG GUNS of the Democratic party all of a sudden.

Wait, what? BIG GUNS and D.C. Democrats? That was funny, I don’t care who you are. :P

So, along with senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, Obama would have plenty of trusted voices in the building, and Gibbs could tighten the inner circle’s grid on the larger Democratic apparatus.

The notion is being referred to internally as “the Ed Gillespie model,” after the longtime operative who served as Republican National Committee chairman during President George W. Bush’s reelection campaign in 2004, then later went into the White House in 2007 to succeed Dan Bartlett as counselor.

Make NO mistake, the DNC and the Democratic machine are dangerous. Hussein Obama is the biggest danger this nation faces, and the charlatans of the DNC will do whatever it takes to keep this disaster in office.

The GOP is also a disaster. The RNC is headed by a totally ineffective individual that is there only because the GOP needed a Black man in a position of power in an effort to prove their own diversity. Michael Steele is a Peter Principled token, nothing more. He is there to counter the idea that the GOP is a party of OLD and RICH White people.

The GOP wants to be ALL THINGS to ALL PEOPLE. That is a premise that doesn’t work. The GOP has become nothing more than Dem Lite. Many so-called Republicans are not Republican at all, they are RINOs, Republican In Name Only.

When RINO is mentioned I immediately think of John McCain, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and far too many others to name. The RNC ran McCain/Palin against Obama, and I have to say, the old line about ‘I voted for Palin’ is a lame excuse. McCain was the top of the ticket, you voted FOR McCain and the incredible waste of time and effort he was, and still is. McCain is a RINO, he always has been and always will be. Palin latched on like a leech.

Mark these words and remember them, IF the RNC puts forth a ticket in 2012 that reads like even a remote repeat of 2008, a Palin/Romney, Palin/Newt, Palin/Pick One ticket, then we’re going to have 4 more years of Hussein Obama. Palin is NOT POTUS material.

She is, however, one hell of a cheerleader and fund raiser, and maybe head of the RNC would be the perfect position for her talents. She would be far and away better than Michael Steele.

Regarding the RINOs — put ‘em in a zoo, behind high walls, that way they can do no more damage to this nation. Run Conservative Americans, run candidates that are for America 1st and nothing more.

That’s MY story, and I’m sticking to it! :P

    *ROARS LAUGHING!*
I hope like all heck they put him in! The idea about Palin’s not bad either, not bad at all.

Well stated Fred. He makes me sick every time I see his mealy mouthed, “it’s Bush or the Republicans” lying butt on TV.

I really enjoyed the liberal press calling him out on the carpet over his trying to make the Congress taking a break without the tax issue resolved, well extremely funny! He tried to so the “it’s the Republicans” shuck and jive and they called him out on it! Gibbs is a typical lying, spinning moron. I think it will be a good thing to move him right into the DNC.

Michael Steele has been a disaster as head of the RNC, at least if that baffoon Gibbs heads the DNC, the party chairmanships will be on equal terms again.
I think you are right on all accounts with Sarah Palin, she is not presidential material, but I think she might be the perfect person to replace Michale Steele.

I concur; a great move for the Demorats.

Gibbs will end up self-imploding on the order of Howard Dean.

I wonder what squonky noise will soon be associated with Robert Gibbs, as was associated with Dean’s “hyaaaaaaaaaaaaah.”

I simply cannot wait for this.

Slinky-eyed Bobby Gibbs, assistant-to-the-chief-bloviator, heading up the DNC…I mean the Politburo. Why not? Ol’ Bobby can’t be any worse than “Dizzy” Dean. Looks to me like the Leader is starting his purges in preparation for 2012 (the end of the world?)

Bob — I am afraid of Obama and what he’ll do in the interim period between November and the new Senate and House being seated…

And after they ARE seated, he can still use Executive Orders to rape America and keep a choke hold on ALL of us…

While I HATE “reality” TV - that’s NOT reality…I say put Gibbs and Michel Steele on an island together- let THEM figure out how they are gonna live and survive - Each party would be better off WITHOUT EITHER one of them!

Gibbs is a Chapel Hill, NC liberal. NOW you know why Jesse Helms wanted to place a fence around Chapel Hill and rename IT “The North Carolina ZOO!”

Tim Kaine, former governor of Virginia, is an ass.

Hell, even a lot of the liberals in Virginia can’t stand him.

Longstreet - We have the same problem here in Texas. It’s called The Peoples Republic of Austin.

Gibbs can’t be the DNC chair here’s why:

The GOP has a black man in charge. So that card got played. Gibbs is white. The DNC will need to one-up the GOP here’s how:

They will find an adopted, Gay, transgendered, latino who was raised by a black father and a Iranian Mother. The ideal DNC chairperson will need to have attended a liberal college, and memorized the “Dreams of my father”

    Gibbs don’t fit the qualifications.

They will find an adopted, Gay, transgendered, Latino who was raised by a black father and a Iranian Mother and has a Chinese *life partner* of undetermined sex.

    Add to that… :P
