Obama assails GOP on clouded final campaign push

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (AP) - President Barack Obama attacked Republicans with gusto Monday as he plunged into a final week of midterm election campaigning, but his party’s prognosis remained darkened by the feeble economy and his itinerary was designed largely to minimize losses.

Nor was his greeting totally friendly in Rhode Island where Obama has pointedly declined to endorse his party’s candidate for governor.

Obama can “take his endorsement and shove it,” declared Democrat Frank Caprio, battling Republican-turned-independent Lincoln Chafee in a gubernatorial race rated tight in the polls. Chafee endorsed Obama during the 2008 campaign for the White House.

In a little more than five hours in the state, Obama was booked for a factory tour and for a pair of fundraisers that party officials said would bring in $500,000.

Obama assails GOP on clouded final campaign push

I know, for a fact, the GOP is NOT perfect. It never has been. Even under Ronald Reagan there were some serious mistakes made. Do you remember Reagan and amnesty?

I am also fully aware that George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush were far less than perfect in the office of POTUS, and that they had their own agenda(s). The Bush presidencies did things that will haunt America for many years to come.

That said, Hussein Obama would have us all believe that everything that is wrong in HIS administration is the fault of the GOP, and George W. Bush in particular. Hussein Obama is a fool, and if he thinks that the American voters are going to buy that garbage, he is also a fool AND liar.

He said Republicans had driven the economy into a ditch and then stood by and criticized while Democrats pulled it out. Now that progress has been made, he said, “we can’t have special interests sitting shotgun. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don’t mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.”

As I said, a LIAR, and I believe, a FOOL.

Yes, the GOP did ‘drive the economy into a ditch’, I can’t argue that one, but the part about the Dems being the ones to pull it out? Really? Hussein Obama wants to go with that?

Obama has repeatedly claimed that his budget would cut the deficit by half by the end of his term. But as Heritage analyst Brian Riedl has pointed out, given that Obama has already helped quadruple the deficit with his stimulus package, pledging to halve it by 2013 is hardly ambitious. The Washington Post has a great graphic which helps put President Obama’s budget deficits in context of President Bush’s. SOURCE

The article goes on to point out how much MORE Hussein Obama has added and is projected to add in the next 2 years. So, what can we expect if the GOP takes a majority of the House and IF they can gain a majority in the Senate?

Voters should expect “good old-fashioned gridlock” in Washington if Republicans win control of one or both chambers of Congress, one GOP lawmaker said.

Rep. Rob Bishop (R-Utah), a vice chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, told students at Utah State University on Friday that a GOP-held House might not be able to accomplish too much as long as President Obama’s in the White House.

“The most you can expect is two years of good old-fashioned gridlock,” he said at an event on the campus, according to a report by the university’s paper, the Utah Statesman.

Indeed, the extent to which Republicans will be able to follow through on their election-year vows to voters is a subject for debate. The GOP is seen as most likely to threaten to take back the House, while winning the net 10 seats it needs in the Senate is much more of an uphill climb. SOURCE

Gridlock indeed.

Hussein Obama will wear out the veto pen, sending everything imaginable back to the House. That means the House has to do everything twice for as long as Obama is POTUS, the 1st time for record, to be vetoed by the Poser n Chief, and the 2nd time to put him in his place by passing it anyway.

Obama blames Bush for everything, but Obama fails to point out, or even acknowledge, the last 2 years of the Bush presidency were dominated by a Democratic controlled House and Senate. If Bush was so bad, why then did the Dems pass everything that came before them? Including the much maligned Bush Bailout?

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Republicans’ expected gains next week go way beyond Congress. The GOP could capture new Senate or House majorities in a dozen to 18 states - along with critical new power to redraw district maps and influence elections for a decade to come. SOURCE

And here is where we get down to business.

Hussein Obama offered ‘Hope and Change’, it turned out that just under 2 years into his regime, even the Dems aren’t buying into the Obama mantra any longer. Obama offered ‘change‘ and that’s exactly what America got, a change, for the worse.

The Dems are a disaster, of that there is no doubt, BUT, so is the GOP if we don’t stay on top of the entire game this time around. The GOP is making promises, saying all the right things and promising to do a better job this time around.

The GOP threatens to co-opt the TEA Party. That action alone makes me distrust the GOP in almost everything they do.

If Conservatives all across America vote the GOP back into power, it immediately becomes OUR responsibility to hold the GOP’s feet to the fire. We can NEVER allow the RINO to emerge and take control of the GOP again. If we DO allow that to happen, then the GOP will be as much a disaster as the Dems and America as we knew it is lost to the ages.

There’s an old proverb that says, “May you live in interesting times“.

Indeed we do live in interesting times, and I believe that we hold our fate in our hands. We have a lot of work ahead of us America, election day isn’t the end of the work American Conservatives have to do if this nation is to be saved from itself.

It is only the beginning.

Fred, for me it gets down to one very essential item and nothing more; you could say this for Bush as well but not in nearly such extremis:

You can NOT “spend” your way out of debt. That has never worked and never will work. Sooner or later you’re simply going to HAVE to pay off that debt. It doesn’t work for the average American household nor for the average American business — both of whom must meet a budget or expire.

Obama has geometrically spent to the point where he makes GW Bush look like Ebenezer Scrooge.

PLUS, he has enabled the LARGEST tax hikes in the entire history of America come January 1st of 2011.

There’s more, of course, but only a blockhead thinks you can spend to reduce debt.

I don’t think the GOP is so much responsible for the economy going downhill fast. Here are some numbers I dug up at the Bureau of Labor Statistics a while back.

    2003: 87,000 jobs created
    2004: 2,000,000 jobs created
    2005: 2,500,000 jobs created
    2006: 2,100,000 jobs created
2006: Democrats regain control of both Houses of Congress
2007: 5,700,000 jobs created. Last fiscal year of a Republican enacted budget.
2008: 2,600,000 jobs LOST. First year of Democratic control of Congress with new fiscal year under Democrats. The rest is history.

Looking back to the great economy of the 90′s under Bill Clinton, things didn’t start to take off until Republicans took control of the house in 1995. Everyone is always looking at who is in the White House but nobody ever looks at who is controlling congress, especially the House. In 1995, the Unemployment Rate finally dropped below 6% and stayed below 6% until 2009 with one exception where it went to 6% in 2003 but dropped the next year.

But now maybe he will start to understand what that’s like!!! What goes around, comes around. :-)

Excellent piece that makes the most important point we will ever have to understand in our life times… We will have to keep our expectations realistic and work like the dickens for many years to come to reverse the damage done by this wretched administration!

I’ll be saying something along those same lines in my post of November 2.

Hey, have you heard the rumbles about disallowing the mortgage-interest deduction?

The Democratic congress elected in 2006 gladly helped the GOP push the economy into the ditch. Gridlock while Obama is POTUS is a good thing. And Commies always lie. Oh, and RINOS are no freaking good.

  7. comment number 7 by: Bob Mack

“Gridlock”. I look forward to an extended period of no new legislation. But then, I think 90% of the garbage they’ve enacted since 1933 oughta be repealed. Lawyers in Congress are like pyromaniacs in a fireworks factory.

If, and it still is an if, conservatives do make gains next week? There will be one hell of a lot of work to be done, and operation RINO watch will be put into high gear…

    Good post Fred!!!

Sorry my input is so long today……just that I’m very passionate about it!!!

    Wake Up Patriots!!

Now is the time for true conservative patriots to awaken! Those that believe in the Constitutional Republic passed down to us from our fathers. Shame on us for our neglect, and our lack of vigilance!! Your Country needs you Citizens!! She’s about to be driven over a cliff into Fascist Socialism, if you don’t rise up and act NOW!!

We’re doomed to repeat the mistakes of Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Hitler, Mussolini, et al, right here in the good ‘ol USA!! So unless you wish to be Feudal Subjects instead of Sovereign Citizens, pay attention to what’s going on……VOTE Conservative this November 2nd. Pay attention over the next two years and hold our elected officials to account!!!

Then, VOTE Conservative in 2012. Pay attention over the next two years and hold our elected officials to account!!!

Then, VOTE Conservative in 2014. Pay attention over the next two years and hold our elected officials to account!!!

Notice I didn’t say anything about political parties here. In my mind, they’re all guilty as sin!!! Vote for the candidate, and hold each individual candidate to account. If they are not adhering to the Constitution, and embracing its tenets of Limited Government in EVERY bill they support, replace them at the earliest opportunity……or recall them if you can’t wait for an election!!

Time to get Deadly Serious Ladies and Gentlemen!!! If we don’t do this starting this November….then prepare for either serfdom or civil war. It’s that simple folks!!

    You get the picture patriots!!!

Again Fred, I apologize for the length of my comment today!

    KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY!!!
