Clock Running on Bush Presidency

December 31st, 2007 . by TexasFred

CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - President Bush’s final-year agenda is a stripped down list of what he can realistically hope to get done, since the clout he once touted is fading away.

Bush will venture to four other continents, get more involved than ever in trying to forge Middle East peace, and continue to command two wars that assure his relevancy to the end. As Iraq improves, he must now deal with renewed violence in Afghanistan and upheaval in Pakistan.

At home, Bush will try to extend two domestic achievements that are dear to his legacy - the No Child Left Behind education law, and tax cuts that otherwise expire in 2010.

Long gone are the big ideas of Social Security and immigration reform, which collapsed on Capitol Hill. His final State of the Union speech in late January is expected to reflect today’s policy reality, eschewing new initiatives in favor of unfinished proposals.

Clock Running on Bush Presidency

I think most everyone already knows, I am NOT a real big fan of George W. Bush, I have tried to like the guy, I have tried to see what he sees and I just can’t do it, I think he’s a pathetic leader and I am glad he is now on the way out, we only have one more year to go, but do you know what the seriously sad part of all this is??

There’s no one running for POTUS that’s going to do ANY better than Bush has done, no one, from either side, all sides, every possible option, Dem, Repub, Libertarian, Greenies, whatever, none of em are going to do ANY better…

And do you know WHY there’s no one that’s NOT going to do any better??

It all boils down to this: Americans, the vast majority of them, are an apathetic lot, they sit back, yawn, say ‘Oh well, it’s just politics’ and then they go to Starbucks and get their double dipped latte froth covered lip coating yes it really DOES make your ass look fat over priced bullshit whatever it is that passes for coffee and just sit ON those fat asses as they LET America die…

It’s not the politicians people, it’s the electorate

That’s right, it’s US, you and me, ALL of us, and so far, I am the only one that’s saying it in their blog, laying the blame where the blame squarely falls, the problem with America is US and what we let these pandering politicos get by with, and until WE demand and GET the very best, this bunch of weak sisters and petty crooks is ALL we’re going to have…

Happy New Year America, you’re getting what you ALLOW, think about that one for a while…

“go to Starbucks, get their double dipped latte froth covered lip coating yes it really DOES make your ass look fat” ROTFLMAO!!!! Well said.

And yep, exactly right, we get what we ask for. and when WE allow these sub standard politicians to screw us, as they have for so long, we just seem to take it..

We vote these pricks into office in the hopes they won’t make it hurt too bad, rather than voting someone in that won’t do it at all.

Sadly, I have to say you’re 100% correct.

I’ve never said it out loud or in print, but I agree. It’s a shame that it won’t ever get any better.

We’re damned if we do and we’re damned if we don’t, in other words, we’re Fucked.

We need someone to come out of the Middle-Class. A person that has worked, provided for his family and has had to stand in line at least once in his lifetime.

I do however think some new faces will be jumping on shortly, will see.

Sad but true. We need to require IQ and Common Sense tests for all politicians. If they can’t pass they can’t run. Nip it in the butt early before I have to see a stupid advertisment for another idiot.
That would eliminate 90% of those in office now. Hopefully we could get the best and the brightest together like when this nation was founded.

Ablur, I don’t think it’s IQ and Common Sense tests that we need, these folks are ALL smart and well educated, it’s their motivations, or, in at least one case, LACK of motivation I question…

In MY opinion, if you’re NOT out there breathing 12 inch flames from both nostrils you’re not all that motivated, and we NEED someone to get fired up about this nation, our people and OUR problems…

I thought Thompson was the one, I hoped Tancredo was the one, I have been terribly disappointed on both picks, I believe Duncan Hunter may be the one but he doesn’t have a chance in hell of EVER being elected and I’ll tell ya why, he IS an America 1st guy and he shoots a bit too straight for the people that vote…

How in the hell can some flip-flopping Mormon, an NYC Mayor that has more crooks in his closet than can be imagined and a so-called Repub, McCain, a guy that’s a hell of a lot closer to the Dems than he is the Repubs, HOW IN THE HELL can these people be seriously considered as top contenders??

As I have said before and will say from now on, we MUST demand a lot better than we are being given, if this batch of clowns is the best the RNC has to offer, and if Obama, Clinton and Edwards are the best the Dems have, we’re all screwed, ALL of us…

That’s pretty much what I said on my Sunday post. Politicians have been pandering to the electorate because we simply want more Free Cheese. And who are they to disappoint us? It’s a matter of HOW screwed we’re gonna get — but we WILL get screwed.

Well, my ass can’t hurt anymore then it already does.

My wife just walked in and said, “Good God, you have guests out here.”

    Busted!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year Fred and everyone!

    See you next year.

I’ll be writing in Tom Tancredo’s name for now; I just can’t vote for any of the corrupt people who are running. Hopefully someone will step up….

  10. comment number 10 by: TexasFred

Murray, you DO know that Tancredo endorsed Romney when he pulled out don’t you??

    Tancredo drops out, endorses Romney

Speak softly and carry a big stick….Teddy Roosevelt.

Maybe Thompson is following the Roosevelt doctrine? It’s hard to say. I would have liked to seen a Thompson/Hunter ticket.

I’m just hoping someone might get in that will do something serious about border control. George Bush has only helped to “sink” this country on this issue. Cheap labor and so called “free trade” are what the business side of the Republican Party is all about. They’d stab their own citizens in the back if they could make another buck.

What is really sad, is that I remember Fred posting much the same thing about five years ago at LNF.

    BLUTO for President!

  14. comment number 14 by: TexasFred

You’re right Patrick, and no one listened then either… But I did piss off Weaselteeth, Mr. Robert Proctor himself, he was a Bush Bot of the 1st order and declared his undying loyalty to Romney even back then…

LNF, a bigger bunch of losers has never been assembled, even CU can’t beat them… :D

Its the fire and determination that is missing in all the canidates. Watching the race so far, I don’t see anyone talking to real Americans and winning them to their side. It’s all fluff and no substance.

How can we turn politics around and get the best and the brightest like our first hundred years?

Damn if I know Ablur, but I do know this, you, me, PatrickS and a few others have been asking that question for a long time, I wonder if there ARE any out there like that, has our entire government been taken over by career politicians??

We no longer need politicians, we need patriots…
